Happy Friday Loves! I feel like the summer weeks are flying by and I don’t want them to leave. I had a lovely day yesterday with my new Long Island blogger friends, Sarah and Kelly…let’s just say blogging was the least of what we discussed. So it’s Sarah and Kelly’s new goal to set me up with some decent guys…I’ve never shared this but…I’ve been doing the whole online dating thing on and off for a little while now and it’s safe to say it’s been…interesting.I tend to pick the wrong guys or maybe as Carrie Bradshaw says ‘I do not pick the wrong guys, they pick me’…either way haha dating has become quite the challenge, for me at least. So while I search for Mr. Right, I will stick with talking about what I know best…fashion. My paint splattered dress was another Charlotte Russe find (did you see my neon one yesterday…I got both of these beauties, buy one get one 50% off…score). It’s no longer available but I found a similar dress at Zappos (with an amazing print!)My white cross body bag was a Saks Off Fifth find from Badgley Mischka (I found a similar one from Rebecca Minkoff) and my block sandals are from Old Navy…I love the unexpected reaction when people ask ‘where are your shoes from?’ and I respond…Old Navy 😉 (BTW they are on sale now!)Shop My Look Below<3
Happy Friday Loves and Happy August 1st! I can’t believe it’s August already…i feel as though the summer has been flying by so fast so I need to make sure I get my fair share of neon summer looks in on the blog…including this one! A little fun fact about me…My favorite color is purple…so I absolutely love this ASOS purple cami. While this top was purchased months ago and is no longer available, I did find a very similar one from Revolve Clothing that I may actually order myself…who said you can’t have similar tops from different brands? If you find something that suits you stick with it! My light wash jeans are from Nordstrom…they have the absolute best jeans! These juniors jeans fit me great and I love how I can easily cuff them up for a casual laid back vibe!I love anything nude…yea kinda sounds a tad inappropriate but oh well, I’m referring to nude bags, shoes etc. First of nude shoes are a summer essential, especially espadrille wedges like these. They are the go to summer shoe for every fashionista. Dress them up or dress them down…they are always in style and on trend. In addition to my love for nude shoes, I also have another slight obsession…NEON! Cambridge Satchel totally got me when they unleashed all their neon satchels. Pretty, functional and adds an instant pop of color to any outfit. As if the brightness of the bag wasn’t enough, I had to add even more color with my frosted jelly link bracelet from BaubleBar and my Candles & Confetti pink and purple bangles (how gorgeous are they? The packaging was even better…they literally came with confetti!) You know it wouldn’t be a summer time fine look without my favorite mirrored aviators! (Seriously obsessed with the shot below…my brother did a fabulous job with photos this week…my prayers have been answered!)This is the perfect weekend outfit. Wear it during the day with the girls and then later at night for date night…well fitting jeans, nude wedges and a pop of color is my go to summer look 🙂 Shop My Look Below <3
Happy Thursday Loves! I decided to share with you one of my quick and easy tips to have ‘blogger’ ready for hair for outfit shoots, parties and just because…no blog required I suppose 😉
I always feel most confident when I have my ‘Victoria’s Secret’ style hair as I like to call it which in my mind simply means: loose, beautiful curls that look like a million bucks without seeming like a high maintenance hair style. It took me years to perfect the picture perfect hair that I would complain to every hair dresser I wanted, but by darn I’ve got it…only took working at a hair salon for 3 years (as a receptionist) to figure out how to properly curl my hair (guess I’m a slow learner…oops)! I am totally admitting I am far from a beauty guru and I turn to other bloggers for advice all the time, but I think now I can confidently say I found the secret to the ‘sexy hair’ style that is loose curls. So let’s start with what products I use:
I swear by these products…first off I’ve had my Hot Tools Curling Iron for years and for $30 (I bought it on sale of course) it provides amazing results and is great quality…most hair styling tools end up not working after a lot of use, but this baby has yet to fail me. I got the 1 inch iron based on my hair length, I have long hair that is thin…consult the Hot Tools website or your hair stylist about which iron is right for your kind of hair! My dry shampoo is my savior. The Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo really gives you the bang for your buck. It usually retails at around $5, smells great and soaks up all the oil in your hair while also adding a little volume, texture and a great scent. Last but not least, in order to make my fabulous curls last me all day, I opt for Moroccanoil Finishing Spray. It’s light weight, flexible and smells delicious…I even spray it on days I let my hair dry naturally just for the fabulous scent. Now I curl my hair the way I’ve been taught from my hair stylist friends…lesson one, dirty hair holds curls better than freshly washed hair. This may sound a little funky to you, especially if you are used to washing your hair every day, but I have a secret for you ladies…washing your hair every day actually causes it to produce more oil! Give your hair a day or two to breath (when I curl my hair it lasts me 2-3 days and I simply spruce it up with dry shampoo in the morning and touch up my curls). This varies obviously depending on the person, but for the most part rule of thumb…wash your hair and let it dry naturally the night before, day before or a few hours before you plan on curling it.
My steps below are based upon my hair being washed and naturally dried the day before!
1) Spray Dry Shampoo a few inches away from the roots and if need be section off pieces to make sure you spray where you tend to get the most oily. 2) Take about a 1 inch section of hair and clamp the piece around the barrel of the curling iron starting in the MIDDLE! Very important ladies, if you clamp it too close to the top or the bottom, the hair doesn’t curl or it doesn’t hold. 3) Begin turning the curling iron slowly gripping more of the hair as you rotate the iron up towards your root. 4) Hold the piece for about 10-15 seconds…5) Slowly loosen up your grip on the iron to allow the piece to fall naturally.6) Spray some finish spray or hair spray for extra hold…And voila! Picture perfect hair in a few minutes flat!
Typically it takes me about 15-20 minutes to curl my whole head depending on how tight I want the curls or how finished I want it to look.Hope my tips help you! Share your feedback with me by commenting below! I’m always open to hear more tricks of the trade 🙂
Happy Friday loves! This summer time weather has us shedding our winter layers and showing some skin and what better way to have your skin beach ready with that perfect glow than with some Green Tea body scrub! Luv Body Scrub sent me these fabulous body scrubs and I got a little down & dirty (followed by clean of course)! Now it’s time to share with you guys that I’m on bit of a health kick…meaning I’m changing my diet and exercise routine in hopes of shedding the winter weight and toning up for that dip in the pool in a hot bikini. Green Tea, luckily is a healthy part of any diet and is on of the proven ingredients to aid in weight loss <3 Finally something I don’t have to give up…(I had to give up almost everything) The product is great. It smells like Green Tea and Lemon…feels amazing and leaves your skin glowing! The instructions are simple and easy…right on the back of the package, talk about ‘that was easy’ 😉 When your working your body hard at the gym, sometimes a little R&R is in order and a body scrub is just what the doctor ordered. Leaves you feeling fresh, invigorated and glowing! Now that’s a hot accessory 😉
Happy Thursday Loves! This look is new to the blog, but a ‘throwback’ from my camera! This look was shot in LA when I stayed with Kristi for Lucky Fabb! Her boyfriend (who is an amazing photographer) took these fun shots of a simple ‘all black look’.
In case you didn’t know, I’m a huge rap, hip hop and r&b fan so I’ve been dying to name a post ‘All Black Everything’ and when I came across this all black head to toe look, I knew it was meant to be 🙂
My shoes are an old Target find…Prabal Gurung! Love them still. The first ever time I wore these puppies was on my 21st birthday! Oh how time flies! I love these black criss cross heels…they are simple, sexy and guess what…comfortable!
My bag is Michael Kors…I love this bag because it is just like a Stella McCartney…without the super expensive price tag! Now that’s a Look For Less I like 😉
I must say I will forever love a classic LBD…Little Black Dress. This cocktail dress from Lord & Taylor is a favorite of mine. It fits like a glove and I feel sexy and confident in it…the point of an LBD 🙂
