I lived in NYC my whole life + never actually visited the Brooklyn Bridge! How crazy is that? But I guess when you are a local native in a city you often don’t take the time to explore your surroundings + what makes your city so unique + special. It took me moving to LA, being away from NYC for years + visiting again to finally explore iconic spots around NYC like the Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo + so much more.
While I was so happy to see NYC again, I forgot what it was like to be a New Yorker. I used to run around the city all the time, catching trains + subways, hailing cabs + checking out new restaurants while shopping at my favorite spots. It was amazing indeed BUT living in LA where you can drive everywhere, not run to catch a train, not carry all your stuff with you (hey that’s what trunks are for :p), life is definitely different in LA vs NY. I was determined to make this NY trip the best so here was stop one of my NYC excursion.
I was so excited to head to the Brooklyn Bridge + had a vision of pulling off a Carrie Bradshaw esq look there (ICYMI – I am a MAJOR Sex + The City fan…I always considered myself a Carrie but as of late I think I am a Charlotte personality with Carrie style). Sooo while thinking up the perfect outfit I found this gorgeous ombre tulle skirt + instantly knew it was ‘the one‘. I am linking to some similar styles below along with the solid pieces I paired it with like this light blue blazer + beige crop top…letting the skirt take center stage.
I love stocking up on basic pieces like these because they go with every ensemble + look classy no matter what the occasion. I wear these nude pumps all the time + this belt matches with all of my dresses + top / skirt combos.
Coachella is just around the corner + to me that means the kick off to festival season! Whether you are heading out to Palm Springs for the festival to enjoy the music or head to parties or heck just hang by the pool, I am rounding up all of your ‘must have’ essentials at various price points that will get you through this festival in comfort + style! Usually when I head to the desert I am living in swimwear, dresses + denim shorts and of course to survive the festival you need a great backpack + some comfy shoes, check out my favorites below!
Spring is here and we all know what that means.. Coachella is right around the corner! The most anticipated festival of the year is finally among us and I’ve rounded up some helpful tips to help you survive your epic weekend in the desert! I mean.. what’s a better way to spend your weekend in April than dancing with your besties under the desert sun right?
If you’re going to Coachella this year, you’ll want to show your friends back home all the fun they’re missing in Indio! You’ll be posting stories on Instagram and Snapchat and documenting each #OOTD all weekend! Don’t let your phone battery stop you from posting all the fun, take a portable charger! This is especially important if you will be using your phone to communicate with your friends in the festival! You don’t want to be lost in Coachella with a dead phone!
A bandana is an essential for your Coachella trip! Let us not forget the festival is located in the desert which means there will be dust storms! Protect yourself from inhaling any dust by carrying a fashionable bandana to put over your mouth when those dust storms approach! Who says a bandana can’t be a staple for your outfit?
Like I mentioned earlier, this festival is located in the desert which means its hot during the day but it does get chilly at night! You won’t feel it when you’re dancing to your favorite artists in the Sahara Tent, but you’ll wish you had a jacket or sweater once you’re leaving the festival and you’re freezing!
All the dancing you’ll be doing during the festival will have you parched! Not to mention how hot it will be during the day, you need to stay hydrated! In order to survive the weekend, you’ll need plenty on water. The festival has water stations where you’ll be able to refill your water bottle! Drink up!!!
You will be doing plenty on walking throughout the weekend! Comfortable shoes are a must for any festival, you need a pair that will keep you walking, running, and dancing all day + night! Your feet will thank you by the end of the weekend!
A Good Attitude!
Coachella is a place to have fun and potentially make new friends! Keep a good attitude throughout the weekend and you will have the most fun you’ve ever had in the desert!
I’m finally back from a nice + relaxing vacay but something I can’t seem to get out of my mind is the amazing Mazda 6 Signature we got to drive throughout our amazing trip. From the smooth drive to luxe interior, my boyfriend + I have been swooning over this beauty and I am here to share all the deets on this amazing vehicle so you can snag one for yourself (I mean who doesn’t need to switch up their ride, am I right? :p)
We did plenty of driving during our trip (for the days we weren’t enjoying the magical world of Disney at the parks). We totally loved driving the Mazda 6 Signature. While I typically opt for trucks so I have extra room, this sedan is far from small. It has tons of room in the trunk + backseat (enough for my two tons of luggage hehe :p I never travel light) + roomy space in the front.
Our car had plush leather interior, heated steering, seats + more…it was an absolute dream. The interior feels very sporty + luxurious, while also feeling extremely safe.
The car comes equipped with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Brake Support + more. Even on long drives, the car will vibrate if you begin to veer outside your lane or are trying to switch lanes when something is close by etc. I find the safety features are one of the most amazing parts of the car because feeling safe is something that is priceless.
This car has an amazing audio system (thanks to Bose), touch screen media + navigation system and it has the apple car play capability (my favorite since you can basically see your iphone on the car system screen.)
The system makes it super easy to get around a new city, listen to your favorite tunes + even reply to texts + calls hands free so no distracted driving occurs.
What I loved most about the Mazda 6 Signature is that while it is an affordable ride, it feels like top tier luxury. That is always such a win / win. Between the car’s amazing interior features, safety aspects + more, the Mazda 6 Signature is a great car for you to cruise away in!
♥All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.♥
It feels like it was just yesterday that we were in Disney World on vacation to celebrate my birthday, our anniversary + an early Valentine’s Day. We laughed, we cried (jk def no crying at Disney World haha :p) + we had the absolute best time!
ICYMI – I am a total Disney lover + kid at heart. Before heading to the park, I rounded up some of my favorite Disney styles + picks (great for your next Disney World or Disney Land trip). From the spectacular shows, to awesome rides, to tasty treats, to fun character moments, I LOVE going to Disney World + luckily my boyfriend + I have been making it our little tradition for the past two years!
Since we have become somewhat of Disney pros hehe :p I wanted to share some of my favorite parts of the various parks, exciting moments you won’t want to miss + so much more!
I would say my favorite parks are hands down Hollywood Studios + Magic Kingdom, we always spend the majority of our time at those because they have the best rides, experiences + photo moments!
One of my favorite parts of Disney World this time that was finally open when we were there this time was Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios! I LOVE Toy Story (the little green aliens are my obsession hehe) so I couldn’t wait to check out the built out area that was a replica of Andy’s backyard (toys + all)!
Last year one of my favorite rides at Hollywood Studios was ‘Toy Story Mania‘ which is basically a ride + arcade game all in one! My boyfriend + I love arcade games and love a little friendly competition, so this ride is the perfect combination of both. It is a 4D ride where you go against your partner to shoot at different objects from plates to balloons with an interactive shooter in your ride cart (let me just tell ya it is quite the arm workout hehe :p). Every time we went on it, I went on planning to win but my boyfriend always won (I need to practice before next year’s trip hehe).
While I loved ‘Toy Story Mania‘, we couldn’t wait to go on the new ‘Slinky Dog Dash‘ (we saw them building it last year when we visited so to be able to go on it this year was super exciting)! Imagine soaring through Andy’s backyard on a roller coaster made from Slinky Dog…it is beyond fun! We went on it probably 5 times while we were there – definitely worth the over hour wait!
I always love the rides at Hollywood Studios but the treats + souvenirs are also a favorite of mine. I saw the green alien popcorn pail all over social media + couldn’t wait to get my hands on it when we arrived – it was probably my favorite purchase we made at the park haha! My boyfriend made the alien voice everywhere we went saying ‘OOOHH The Claw‘ (Toy Story 2 reference) so it made our trip even more fun. We even brought the little guy along with us on the new ‘Alien Swirling Saucers‘ ride (also at Hollywood Studios in Toy Story Land).
While we didn’t spend too much time at Epcot or Animal Kingdom, we did love one ride in particular at Animal Kingdom…’Expedition Everest‘! It is a high speed roller coaster where you are trying to escape a scary Yeti (although I find Yeti’s kinda adorable hehe – we even bought a cute one in the gift shop after going on the ride multiple times).
I love seeing all of the nature + animals at Animal Kingdom but next time we definitely want to check out all of the Avatar related rides + the night show (we didn’t plan ahead with those + the wait times were 2+ hours).
ICYMI – Disney World has Fast Pass+where you can book 3 Fast Passes a day for one park up to 30 days in advance of your visit! It is a really awesome feature so you can assure to get on the rides you want with little to no wait times (we used them for a lot of the Toy Story Land attractions). After you use up your 3 passes for one day you can book passes 1 by one for the same park you are at or a different park.
We always opt to get Park Hoppers for each day we go so we can ‘hop‘ around from park to park! We like to spend the day at one park + then experience the different end of night shows at the various parks.
While I love the rides at Disney World, some of my favorite experiences are the parades, shows + fireworks at the end of the night! They always excite me + really make you feel like you are experiencing the magic of Disney!
My favorite shows are Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios. It is a combination of water effects, fireworks, Mickey performing + so much more…it is truly an incredible experience and it is one show I highly recommend you don’t miss when visiting!
For Star Wars fans while the new Galaxy Edge section of the park won’t be open till fall 2019, you can check out the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. It happens every evening and is a combination of clips from the movies projected in the middle of the park with special effects like fire + fireworks – it truly is remarkable.
At Magic Kingdom their ‘Happily Ever After‘ show is truly a fairytale moment! I get so emotional + even cry during it hehe :p Tears of joy of course haha!
The show has clips from tons of Disney movies highlighting love, friendship + the magic that is in your heart if you just believe.
I am also a huge fan of Magic Kingdom, One because of Cinderella’s Castle (of course) but because of how every time I take photos in front of it, I feel like a Disney princess. I planned for months on what I was going to wear for the trip, ordered special Minnie Mouse Ears, apparel + so much more to really embrace the Disney magic.
