Happy Monday everyone! Finally after a long weekend in bed and a marathon of Law and Order SVU, I am recovering from being sick + off to work. I feel like I have so much to catch up on…does that ever happen to you after being sick? Feeling like you are so behind and need to get back on track? Well it’s time to start the week fresh and get to it 😉 Besides being sick all weekend, something else was happening here in LA…a total heatwave! It may be October but it feels far from it in Cali (yesterday when I was shooting pictures it was over 90 degrees) so my work attire? A short suit…like this one 😉

A trend I have been loving for fall is the sleeveless blazer. It’s the perfect choice for those hot LA days when you want to just wear shorts and a tee to the office but need to dress things up just a bit. I paired this sleeveless blazer with chiffon high waisted shorts + added a simple white v neck blouse. What I love about this look is it’s office appropriate P L U S it is great to wear straight from work to happy hour! 2 in 1 is so much fun :p

The perfect way to dress up a black and white look is with some prints + bright colors. I love these leopard ankle strap heels because they add a little extra ‘spice‘ to any look. For that extra ‘pop of color‘ I wore my trustee neon cambridge satchel.

I’ve always had a thing for monograms, so I was thrilled when ShopPrimaDonna.com sent me this ‘M‘ necklace. I think it’s such a classic piece and love wearing it to work…it’s an easy go-to necklace in the morning and matches perfectly with any look.

It’s weird to experience fall here in LA…leaves are on the ground but the weather just doesn’t match. Sometimes I miss NY and the season changes but I am sure when it hits winter and I am still able to enjoy sunshine and beach weather I will l o v e it! Can’t wait to see 🙂

Happy Friday! I wish I was more upbeat about the weekend but I am sitting home sick (ugh). I got the flu shot the other day and within 24 hours I am sick…this happens without fail every year…when will they come up with a shot that doesn’t make me sick after getting it jeez :p And I am sure all the traveling and airport waiting areas didn’t help either…On a brighter note, sick days = Law and Order SVU + Chicken Noodle Soup…I guess things can be worse right? (plus I am finally catching up on blogging which I feel like I’ve been slacking on the past two weeks — ever get that feeling? Where everything is happening all at once and you just need a little break?) 🙂This outfit is perfect to wear to work this fall and is a little flashback from my NYC days! It was shot just days before I got the news that I would be moving to LA (crazy to think I have been here since June now) and totally forgot about it :p Shabby Apple always has chic pieces that are great for work or play but this midi skirt is perfect office attire if you ask me — not too much leg…just the right amount 😉

I paired the midi skirt with this chambray button down shirt for a little retro vibe…I feel like a button down shirt tied like this is so cute (and just a tad sexy) reminds me of a pin-up girl what can I say. And of course these white pumps made a transition into fall because why not 😛

It wouldn’t be a ‘Missy’esq outfit without a bright red bag and this one did just the trick! And my signature black sunnies are a ‘must’ for the fall season. Plus I needed something to brighten my mood after this long exhausting week!

Falling For Fall…

Fall is in full swing + nothing makes this gal happier than being able to rock some layers + cozy apparel…you know, snuggly faux fur vest (or in this case a sherpa vest), suede booties (these ShoeDazzle ones are comfy + cute) + of course a killer bag (hey if you ask me, every season requires at least 1 or 2 new handbags, I mean why not right…season change = closet change…basic math haha)

These photos were shot for a fab blog post I wrote for the ShoeDazzle blog for National Women’s Friendship Day (see it h e r e). Kristi + I showed off our favorite fall styles while shopping in Manhattan Beach (because what else are bloggers to do to show off true friendship :p)

Kristi + I have such different styles and I think that is part of what makes our friendship fun. I love heels (+ heeled booties), layering cute seasonal pieces + showing off my curves with skinny jeans + jeggings…So it was only suiting I chose to wear this white chiffon blouse, black jeggings + sherpa vest for the shoot!

I paired this look with taupe heeled booties (taupe is one of my favorite colors because it’s so close to nude and matches well with any outfit) + this fuzzy creature of a handbag (similar). This bag instantly reminded me of a few popular styles from Fendi the moment I saw it, and the best part is it is only a fraction of the price (maybe one day I will get the Fendi, but for now this will have to do :p) Hey a girl can dream right?
