I am gearing up for a fun weekend ahead + it’s putting me in a bit of a tropical mood…maybe since Vegas is filled with pool parties and palm trees…much like LA but I digress haha :p I shot this fun palm print look over the summer but I honestly don’t care that fall is upon us, I am sharing it…yolo…am I right? :p
I have always been a fan of palm prints whether it is home decor or apparel ever since I moved to LA…honestly makes me feel like I am in vacation mode year round.
I went pretty much head to toe palm print. I am loving this palm print kimono…it is great to wear at the pool or layered of a simple camisole like I did here or even a dress. The print is fun + adds an instant ‘pop of color‘ to any look.
One piece of this look I will be wearing well into the fall season is this suede button front skirt. It is great to style with any blouse or sweater. Pair it with boots or heels for the office or for a day out with your girls.
My favorite part of this look? These palm print heels! Aren’t they so fun? The platform style makes them trendy + comfortable. They are also on sale for under $40.
Because I love being matchy matchy, I had to also wear a palm print clutch like this one. Perfect accessory to add a little tropical paradise to any look.
I hope your week is off to a great start! I am prepping for a busy weekend ahead filled with photoshoots (and my first ever video shoot – eek I am super excited but also nervous hehe :p). The blog is growing more + more day by day which is amazing! I get to work with killer brands + create fun content for all of you! If you are new here or are still simply learning more about me, my style is filled with fun ‘Pops Of Color’ + girly accents. Whether it’s a flirty skirt like I am wearing here or a sassy dress, the girlier the better!
This rings true for today’s outfit. The unicorn trend is all over the place lately and when I saw this colorful fringe cardigan from Olive and Pepper, I knew I NEEDED it! It’s fun, sassy + is great to style with a plain white tee + a pair of jeans, or with a skater skirt + heels like you see here.
Versatile pieces that can make a statement + be styled multiple ways are always a WIN in my book. Another WIN about this cardigan? It’s price! It retails for just $48– I mean you can’t beat that!!
Here I styled the cardigan with a basic white chiffon camisole + one of my favorite pink skater skirts. I live for skater skirts because they are great for work or play and are flattering on almost every body type!
Both of these pieces are essential for every gal’s wardrobe…sometimes building your closet is all about stocking up on basics you can mix + match.
My heels are another basic I think every gal should stock up on since they are so versatile for any occasion. I love a classic white ankle strap heel…they make your foot look great, show off that new pedicure + are simple and sexy.
My bag is also from Olive and Pepper. It’s an instant summer hit that everyone is wearing! Plus it looks like the Cult Gaia bag for a fraction of the cost!
Valentine’s Day may be over but…love is still in the air if you ask me♥ I found this shoot I did at the ‘Love Wall’ in Culver City a year ago + decided it was about time to post it…ya know because why not 😉 That’s the part I love about living in LA, there are so many fun walls all over the city just waiting for the perfect insta snap to be taken in front of! Hey…it’s a blogger’s paradise! This wall was crazy busy the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day for obvious reasons but what I also found was cute was that it wasn’t just bloggers taking photos. It was couples taking engagement photos, little kids having their parents take their photos making silly faces etc. It’s kinda cute how a colorful wall can bring joy to so many different people of all different walks of life…the love wall…spreads…L O V E!
Now back to my look…since yesterday’s post was a date night look in front of the Love Wall, I wanted to share a dress casual look for work today…you know, switch things up!
Someone (me) has a case of the Mondays…any Office Space lovers out there? 😉 If so then you know which line I am referring to hehe But seriously, I definitely have a case of the Monday Blues today. Over the weekend I dropped Mike off at LAX to head to London for 7 months for work (ugh I know…long distance it is). What was more upsetting than Mike leaving for 7 months was that on the car ride over to LAX we hear the sad news out of London of another terror attack. We both were silent and my heart was breaking as I was trying so hard not to cry and to be strong for him as to not worry him before heading on his flight over there. This feeling was something that can’t seem to escape me. We are living in a scary time and although we discussed me visiting him in the fall (something I most certainly was looking forward to since I have never been to London, let alone out of the country) this fear is in a way unshakeable. So I am trying to be strong, not live in fear + to be as supportive as possible but I may have some more heart felt messages on the blog so be prepared ♥
I am not going to discuss politics on here as I know it is such a hot button discussion at the moment and I want my site to be light hearted + enjoyable for all but I truly hope we find a way to end this reign of terror. Will loving each other solve the problem? I am not sure…Will there be another solution? I can only hope, either way…I am someone who likes to forge ahead and kick a**!
On to a lighter note, I will try to share some long distance dating tips + tricks on here as I begin to get into a groove with Mike 🙂 First tip – What’s App is ESSENTIAL :p
Time to brighten things up with this chic look that is great for work + play! It’s official post memorial day meaning by fashion law, it’s now time to wear white to embrace the summer season. Now I tend to wear white year round, call me a rebel if you must haha but all white everything is a look I can ALWAYS get behind!
Old Navy has the best white skinny jeans in my opinion (the ‘rockstar‘ style fits me like a glove). They are usually always on sale and come in a variety of fits to flaunt every body type. I love wearing a simple Topshop camisole with them so it can be dressed up for the boardroom or happy hour.
I have been really feeling the whole ‘duster’ trend lately. A long chic blazer? Count me in! I linked to a variety of nude colored ones below that can be worn year round – a total staple piece to add to your wardrobe!
It wouldn’t be a ‘Missy‘ esq outfit without a bright + bold‘P O P of Color’!
I LOVE this cobalt blue satchel + have for some time now. I am linking to some of my favorites below 🙂
My Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace is a perfect way to add a bit of color by getting it in cobalt blue, hot pink, yellow etc.
Happy Monday ♥ I am definitely having a case of the Monday Blues today…I spent this past weekend in Palm Springs to kick off my birthday week (I can’t believe I am turning 25 on Friday…a quarter of a century old…it’s all down hill from here right? :p) JK…have to look at the bright side, with older age comes wisdom, better style + class and elegance that takes years to achieve.
Anyways…while I am still 24, I love to sport casual cozy looks like this one with my winter signature essentials…a blanket scarf + OTK boots! I love when comfort + style intersect and with these boots and this scarf, that’s exactly what happens!
Don’t you just love when sunshine is beaming down on you and you are warm and toasty in your outfit? I sure do!
I can’t get enough of blanket scarves! (I did a whole roundup of my favorites HERE)
