It’s no secret that I have a slight obsession with color…and by color I mean anything that’ll stand out and truly make a statement, maybe even a little pop? 😉 One of my current colors I am crushing on is red…I am on the hunt for a new red bag (if you have any helpful tips or suggestions PLEASE let me know…I can’t seem to find a bag that makes me ‘fall in love’ haha) and here I am wearing a red sweater and red booties in the dead of winter (yes I was freezing while shooting this)! My red pullover sweater was a Target find (hey if I have to wear sweaters all winter long it may as well be a cute one!) and my red suede booties were and Old Navy find (similarhere).
And of course…the handbag. I am actually selling this ostrich clutch on my Poshmark (here) but found a similar one in a different color from Yes Style (here).
PS I am super excited because I decided to take a last minute trip to Disney for my Birthday (which is Feb.3rd btw)! I can’t wait to escape this cold winter weather and to have some fun with Mickey & Minnie 🙂 | Click To Shop My Look + Don’t Forget To Enter My New Giveaway HERE |
The day is finally here…I’m back to my old stomping grounds (two different stomping grounds that is)…today is my first day of my new position as the social media coordinator for Kleinfelds and I am beyond EXCITED! I have been searching for the right fit for a while after leaving Madison Ave last spring and after quite the journey I am pleased to be starting the new year off right with a brand new adventure that I can’t wait to embark on!
Now in regards to back to my old stomping grounds…A) I am back to commuting into the Big Apple daily and heading to work following my passion…social media 😉 + B) These photos were taken at a very old stomping ground…my elementary school! Boy has time flied (insert monkey covering it’s face emoji here haha!)While this isn’t what I am wearing for my first day of work today (you can see my daily work ensembles on snap chat — add me ‘MissyOnMadison‘…beware I am VERY NEW to the world of snap chat and needed my 14 year old sister to help me…along with some help from google just so I could learn how to write text on ‘snaps’…hey I can’t know it all…that would just be obnoxious haha!)Ok, now that I got the whole snap chat situation out of the way let’s get to the reason why we are all here…the outfit details! Both my blue satchel bag and my white button down cardigan are from Old Navy! Unfortunately they are no longer available but I found options here:
White Button Down Cardigan:Alexander Wang // Kohls // AMI ClubwearI LOVE a little faux leather…I rocked faux leather leggings on the blog Friday here and here I am wearing a faux leather skirt available from Forever 21 here (for under $15!)Like I mentioned earlier my bag was from Old Navy. As for my shoes? Altuzarra for Target (which I am selling on my Poshmark here). I found similar options here, here + here (all for under $100!)I am writing this post at 11 o’clock at night and I am freaking out with nervousness and excitement for tomorrow…I have changed my first day outfit 3 times and I know there will be another few outfit change ups in the morning as well…I may be slightly indecisive oops!| Click To Shop My Look |
TGIF! What a week it has been…the year has changed, the holiday season has ended and I’ve stocked up on so many sales and deals my closet is nearly about to explode (not kidding). One of the struggles that always happens once the holiday season comes to a close is how to recycle all of those great holiday pieces into every day ensembles and today’s look is the first of many posts written with that idea in mind 😉If you missed it, I rocked this shaggy pink coat (available on my Poshmark here) for my New Year’s Eve post along with a beaded skirt and swavorski crystal covered heels…festive for the ball drop of course! But today I dressed down this coat with a simple Topshop for Nordstrom camisole and Hue ‘Leatherette’ Leggings perfect for a Friday night out!One of these accessories has also gotten a lot of use during the holiday season, and now it will be a great going out bag for happy hour…this Michael Kors Python Clutch which I wore here for a different NYE post.I LOVE these nude suede open toe booties year round. They match with everything and nude is always a safe color for when you are unsure of what to wear for a night on the town. I found similar ones from ZooShoo here (for under $50).I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I will be out shooting some more winter time looks (that’s if I decide to dress weather appropriate…it’s a toss up haha!) and prepping to get back to work in the Big Apple! Wish me luck 🙂| Click To Shop My Look |
The time has come for the last blog post of 2014 and I can’t believe that it has now been a year and a half since I initially began blogging! 2014 has truly been a roller coaster ride for me from a new career path to stepping up my blogging game to meeting tons of new people…2014 has pushed me outside of my comfort zone and has truly been a stepping stone leading to my soon to be empire 😉 (wishful thinking :p)In true ‘cliche‘ blogger fashion as my brother would like to say haha (my brother is quite the spit fire by the way and also writes a blog of his own ‘Pop Culture Died In 2009‘) we did a fun glitter filled photo shoot to ring in the New Year in style! It took a good 40 shots to snap the perfect pic of me blowing sequins/glitter…I don’t know how all the other bloggers do it but hey the outtakes are always funny as well 😉 I love to make a statement especially on a holiday so today’s head to toe look is pure glamour…but first…the aftermath of my sequin frenzy…sequins EVERYWHERE!These Gucci Swavorski Crystal Heels are actually available in my Poshmark closet now and are absolutely stunning! I received them as a gift over a year ago and have yet to find somewhere to wear them…so why not rock them for New Year’s Eve (just the shoot that is…no way can I ruin these babies at a club lol!)My go to party and night out bag is the Rebecca Minkoff Affair Bag available here. It is simple, chic and fits all of your essentials (the perfect NYE bag to fit roll up flats, lip gloss + more)Now to break down the rest of my party girl look. This shaggy pink coat is a piece I fell in love with the second I spotted it. I may not of had somewhere to wear it to but I knew I simply HAD to have it 😉 (available on my Poshmark here)To match the pink shaggy coat I decided a chic beaded skirt was a must. While I couldn’t find a skirt identical to mine, I found two similar options from Saks Off Fifth and Urban Outfitters here + here.I also needed a slight pop of color…so this Kate Spade necklace did just the trick:
Kate Spade Green Necklace // Tear Drop Necklace // Initial NecklaceAs for New Year’s Resolutions? Well you will just have to wait and see what I have in store today and tomorrow…one of they may be to host more contests! I will be hosting an instagram contest today and another one tomorrow so be sure to follow me: @MissyOnMadison on instagram to enter to WIN big 🙂| Click To Shop My NYE Look |
Sparkle, Sparkle…it’s almost time for the biggest party of the year (and no I am not referring to NYFW or the Met Gala)…I’m talking about New Year’s Eve 2014! While I still have absolutely no clue about what I will be doing the night the ball drops, one thing I do have somewhat of an idea about is what I will be wearing…and it includes tons of SPARKLE!What I love about New Year’s Eve is the fact that it’s one of the few times you can wear as much glitter and sparkle as you want without anyone taking a second glance…it’s like I can be the bedazzled princess I dreamed of as a little girl without people staring stunned at what I am wearing…can you say dream come true? Well, any excuse to wear a dress and sparkly heels is fine by me 😉 I LOVE a sweetheart neckline (on a side not if and when I ever get married…mark my words, the dress will be a sweetheart design) and especially a fit and flare style like this glittery dress I found at Charlotte Russe! Nothing is better than glitz and glamour on a budget right?
If you are up for the splurge Saks, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales all carry this gorgeous Jill Stuart gold strapless dress (it is STUNNING) and can be ordered for express delivery with free shipping whenever you are ready! I don’t know about you but whenever I wear something without sleeves I always feel the need to pair it with a blazer. Whether it’s heading to dinner, the club or even just a house party, you never know when chilly air may strike and you don’t want to feel uncomfortable at a fun event. I think white is a great color for New Year’s so pair a white boyfriend blazer with a dress, a top and skirt or a top and pants is a great way to keep warm but also stay stylish. Now for the fun stuff…shoes and bag swag. My clutch is from Michael Kors…the hardware on the python clutch adds to the sparkle of the dress and the heels…plus the clutch comes with an attachable chain strap so you can wear the clutch as a shoulder bag to keep your hands free for drinks and h’orderves. My shoes make a statement all on their own. I got these Nine West glitter sandals two years ago and they have been my go to New Year’s Eve footwear ever since. They sparkle, shine and are actually comfortable! (they are currently for sale on my Poshmark here) I found similar options from Michael Antonio (here), Ivanka Trump (here) + Steve Madden (here) all on sale with quick shipping options just in time for NYE!You can’t truly shine on New Year’s without statement making bling like this Kendra Scott ring and this star necklace (simple yet chic). No stand out look is complete without a perfect red lip (my current favorite is this Elizabeth Arden lipstick…see more of my favorite Elizabeth Arden picks here). If you still need some more New Year’s Eve inspo don’t fret. I shared my ‘Top 10 Dressing Guide for NYE’ over the weekend here + a ‘LBD For NYE’ outfit idea here (PS You will LOVE the sparkletastic fun that hits the blog on New Year’s Eve…I shot it over the weekend and let’s just say glitter ended up EVERYWHERE…oops)| Click To Shop This NYE Look |
