    ♥ Up For A Little D R A M A ♥

    Ok, not the gossipy kind but the statement making, breath taking, traffic stopping kind…like a chic dress like this one from Pink Lily! The second I spotted it on their site I knew I needed to have it + when I was planning my outfits out for my NYC shoot I knew this beauty was meant to be styled in a chic NYC way on the Brooklyn Bridge.

    I couldn’t wait to wear this dress…it was my perfect Carrie Bradshaw moment…a moment I always tried to have while I was living in NYC but years later I was finally able to achieve it. It’s funny how time makes your style mature + allows you to feel confident enough to walk the Brooklyn Bridge in the rain in a tulle + floral print dress…it was one heck of a journey but I am so glad I am here.

I styled it with a moto jacket, a statement making Gucci pearl belt + white pumps.     ♥ Where Brooklyn At? ♥

    I lived in NYC my whole life + never actually visited the Brooklyn Bridge! How crazy is that? But I guess when you are a local native in a city you often don’t take the time to explore your surroundings + what makes your city so unique + special. It took me moving to LA, being away from NYC for years + visiting again to finally explore iconic spots around NYC like the Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo + so much more.

    While I was so happy to see NYC again, I forgot what it was like to be a New Yorker. I used to run around the city all the time, catching trains + subways, hailing cabs + checking out new restaurants while shopping at my favorite spots. It was amazing indeed BUT living in LA where you can drive everywhere, not run to catch a train, not carry all your stuff with you (hey that’s what trunks are for :p), life is definitely different in LA vs NY. I was determined to make this NY trip the best so here was stop one of my NYC excursion.

    I was so excited to head to the Brooklyn Bridge + had a vision of pulling off a Carrie Bradshaw esq look there (ICYMI – I am a MAJOR Sex + The City fan…I always considered myself a Carrie but as of late I think I am a Charlotte personality with Carrie style). Sooo while thinking up the perfect outfit I found this gorgeous ombre tulle skirt + instantly knew it was ‘the one‘.     ICYMI – my boo + I switched things up recently by doing a fun retro esq shoot at one of my fav themed restaurants, Johnny Rockets! I have always been fond of the 50s since I acted in my elementary school play of Grease hehe :p so naturally when I snagged this little polka dot number I knew it was fate I shoot it 50s style!     I have always been a fan of polka dots, especially when it comes to dresses. The design is so chic + feminine, perfect for my inner girly girl. This dress is from an online boutique call Lucy Ave + I LOVE it! The fit, the style, the price…it’s a total MUST HAVE for your spring wardrobe!

    I planned this outfit to match the decor in Johnny Rockets so I paired this dress with classic statement making red suede pumps + red mini backpack…because as you all know, I LIVE for a bold ‘POP’ of Color!

    I got this mini red backpack from the UK brand Grafea + I am totally buggin (can you tell I watched Clueless while writing this? haha). I have been obsessed with mini bags lately, especially backpacks + this one is a bright bold color AND comes with a cute pom pom accessory, I mean what more does a gal need?!

    As for my sunnies…I mean how can you not find these heart shaped frames adorable? I bought them on Amazon in a set of 3 to have a variety of colors for under $20! Total score!

    My heels are my handy red suede pumps. I style them constantly for work or play since they make such a chic bold statement matched with neutrals etc.

    I paired it with classic white pumps (a key must-have for your spring into summer wardrobe) + the trendy pearl handbag you are seeing all over Instagram! The designer version is $500+ but this one is just $70 from Amazon. Honestly, I see this bag as the adult version of an Easter basket haha! How cute is it?
