    A Cozy Cardigan

    20140131-092948.jpg
The key to surviving winter weather while still looking cute…you guessed it layers! And one of my favorite way to layer is to throw a simple cardigan over almost any look which gives an extra ‘warm and cozy‘ vibe! Although this look may not be suitable for the polar vortex NYC has been experiencing over the past few weeks, on a slightly warmer day with maybe some tights, this look is simply perfect for work or play!

I also love the nice earth tones I get in this outfit! The navy skirt, olive green top, beige cardigan and taupe booties are great for fall, winter or spring and to add a little extra something, of course a pop of color with my red Rebecca Minkoff bag! It’s simply, comfy and casual and it can be dressed up or down depending on what the day has in store for you!

I am not wearing this ensemble today, but the day I did wear it, was for a casual Friday at work, because who doesn’t love tees and cardigans on a Friday?! By the way, my entire look (except for my shoes) is from Nordstrom…I’ve officially become addicted to shopping their ‘sale’ section online because with Free Shipping & Free Returns, it’s my version of guilt free shopping 😉

    Bright & Sunny

    20140127-093259.jpg
For once, the weather in NYC is actually bearable! There’s not a frigid breeze or snow just yet (naturally it’s coming during my after work commute), and that means, maybe, just maybe I can step out of the house without layers of wool, sweaters, leggings and vests. This easy, breezy look isn’t what I’m rocking to work today (a little to casual for a Monday in my opinion lol), but this outfit is a perfect weekend go to and can transition from season to season.

Yes, usually one wears yellow in the spring or summer but hey why not brighten up your wardrobe year round with a Pop Of Color? In my mind, color is always in style! I love this look because it is cool and casual. A simple white blouse, quilted Old Navy vest, Payless booties, a Coach cross-body bag, my favorite yellow Hue jeggings and a simple pair of shades from Urban Outfitters, what better outfit is there to tackle weekend adventures or errands?!

    Red, White & Black

    20140113-101221.jpg
Happy Monday Fashionistas! It’s finally starting to warm up in the big apple and that means I can actually wear something a little lighter! In previous posts I’ve professed my love for ‘Hue‘ jeggings but once again I have to give credit where credit is due…these jeggings first of all look like great quality pants and second they are extremely comfortable for all day wear!

I love the burgundy tone of these pants because they are a great transition piece for fall into winter. They go with just about everything and can be dressed up or down, whether it’s to head to the office or out to dinner…they aren’t too dressy or too casual, they are just right.

I decided to pair them with a simple black chiffon top from Old Navy along with this cute white quilted vest because come on, we all know every outfit looks better with a vest layered over it! To dress up the look, I paired this ensemble with these amazing Nine West suede booties…that are comfortable and fabulous…a win/win for all!

And last but not least, to tie the whole look together….making it’s debut on the blog, a present to myself, a new Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier Print…because one Neverfull is never enough and what girl doesn’t like options when it comes to a little LV?

In true NYC fashion I will be hustling and bustling today… running from the office straight to the Jay-Z concert in Brooklyn at Barclays with my lovely boyfriend 🙂 That sure beats the Monday Blues!

    Casual Meets Sparkle

    20140108-123133.jpg
Leave it up to me to dress up an otherwise ordinary outfit with some brightly colored accessories to make a statement. There is something I love about adding a little glitz and glam to a casual outfit that calls for some glances. This outfit is one of those looks!

I scored this gray H&M sweater for $10…on clearance right before Christmas…yes people a $10 oversized sweater is pretty much a little slice of heaven to me! Naturally oversized sweaters look great with simple leggings like I’m wearing, but I have this thing for adding a little extra something weather it be a blazer, cardigan or in this case a denim vest.

Typically winter is a time for quilted puffer vests or faux fur vests (which if you’ve seen previous posts you know I certainly wear a lot of), but why not break the mold and go for denim…yes the whole point of a vest is a little extra warmth, but with an already warm and cozy sweater I think it’s just fine to go for a fashionable look and rock a little denim in the winter! It’s always a smart idea to think and dress outside the box!

As with every look, it’s all about the accessories. These Old Navy booties have lasted me 2 years of harsh weather conditions and are still as fabulous as the day I bought them. The color goes with practically everything and they are super comfortable! To add to the casual, laid back look, I went for a mini satchel cross-body bag from Rebecca Minkoff. The rose gold color adds a little extra glam to any outfit and it has enough room to fit all the essentials and lays perfectly.

Last but not least, my favorite part of this look…this H&M stunning necklace. I got this on clearance back in the spring and every time I wear it I cause a stir! It’s huge, sparkly and simply amazing! Adding a statement necklace to any ensemble adds a little extra ‘oomph’ that every fashionista desires!

    Chic Chambray

    20140102-102829.jpg
Brrrr….It’s cold in here there must be some chambray in the atmosphere…sorry I had to do that but anyways, point is, it is freezing and snowing in NYC! Of course these photos were taken when it was actually sunny and bearable outside, but this outfit can be worn for any temperature depending on how you style it.

One of the things I love about Chambray is the fact that you can dress it up or down just by pairing it with different outfits. I love this look, a simple pair of gray Abercrombie pants (while I used to feel Abercrombie was soo middle school, I’m actually loving their pants…they fit great and are always on sale!), a chic faux fur vest from H&M, a simple pair of black shooties from Nine West and to add a little extra ‘Pop Of Color’, a red ‘Mini Mac’ bag from Rebecca Minkoff.

I love adding a little extra color to any outfit…what girl doesn’t want to stand out? Another great thing about this look? It’s makes for a great ‘Day to Night’ transition…after a long day at the office this look is perfect for any happy hour!

On a side note, this is my first post of 2014! I can’t believe it’s already January and already a brand new calendar year…is it just me or did 2013 fly by? Well, one of my New Year’s resolutions? Keep up the blogging and hopefully reach an even bigger audience than I already have!
