Hello To A Bright 2021…

✨ HELLO 2021 ✨

Let’s be honest, 2020 has been a doozy and 2021 is off to a rocky start but despite the world being a little overwhelming right now, I began thinking of what I’d like to accomplish this year, what to look forward to and also reflect on what 2020 taught us. There were growing pains we experienced as a country – from social justice issues to climate concerns to political mayhem to COVID and more so while I continue to process the ever changing saga that is everyday in the current world I know what I can control is myself, my actions, my future + my impact on the world.

So what am I personally looking forward to in 2021? Well A LOT!

My wedding got postponed which was a tough decision and for another blog post…stay tuned so 2021 we are focusing on moving forward with our lives by buying our first HOME. We felt is was the logical next step so we can begin planning our future while our wedding is on hold for the moment.

1. House Hunting – we are looking to find our dream home within the next few months + I know that will be a fun way to kick off 2021. I can’t wait to find the home of our dreams and make it our own with fun design choices etc. Most of all I am excited about more space for my office and content creation…and my closet.

The next thing I am excited for is to continue to grow not just my blog, MissyOnMadison but also my marketing agency MRTMediaManagement.com!

2- Growing My Business – My goal is to continue to add to my client roster and help amazing brands and founders grow their businesses. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients grow their social presence, website traffic + more so we want to expand that success by adding new clients to our agency for 2021!

Next thing I am looking forward to? Focusing on my overall health. That would be physical, mental etc. 2020 was pretty stressful for us all and I don’t know about you, but I have been having a hard time dealing with an almost year lockdown, having to skip all my exciting engagement and wedding moments and postponing my entire wedding for another year and a half basically. This leads me to needing a little self care love + focusing on my overall wellness.

3 – Focus On My Health – My goal is to take time to work out a little everyday, continue to focus on eating healthy + also take mental health breaks. Whether it be yoga, meditation or going for daily walks – every little bit helps.

Sparkles + Metallics for NYE…

✨ NYE Ready ✨

Are ya’ll ready to ring in the new year?! Crazy to think 2019 is coming to a close in just a week or so and a new exciting 2020 is ahead! While I love reflecting back on the year that’s passed, nothing excites me quite looking ahead to the future and especially dressing up for the occasion!

Whether you are watching the ball drop at a friend’s house, spending time with family or heading out to a party or club, one thing is for sure…NYE is time to bring on the sequins, metallic + SHINE! With that said I wanted to share two NYE festive looks perfect for you to ring in the new year!

Outfit 1 is this chic silver metallic midi skirt that is perfect to wear year round styled with a simple sequin top (hey sequins can be simple at times haha :p) This skirt is such a favorite of mine because it’s feminine, fun + flattering. Style it a variety of ways from pairing it with a sweater to a camisole and blazer to a normal top…this NYE look can easily transition well into the new year.

These pumps are a current favorite of mine…I love Manolo’s + these sparkly Manolo Blahnik pumps are perfect for making a statement on NYE! These pumps I also wear year round with jeans, leather pants + more because who doesn’t like to shine year round? My bag is my classic Chanel + a total must have when it comes to investing in designer handbags.

Now fo my second metallic look…I am loving this simple sequin cocktail dress perfect for the club paired with a shaggy fuzzy jacket to stay warm no matter where you are!

This sequin mini dress is from Amazon + retails for under $30 and is perfect for the club, party or any NYE occasion. It comes in a variety of colors + fits true to size.

I paired it with a shaggy coat like this one because it adds a little extra warmth without forgoing on style! I own this coat in a few different colors because I love it so much.

The metallic hues are perfect for NYE + are sure to make you stand out! I paired it with my go-to going out bag, my Chanel + then paired with these sparkly gold heels from Red Dress Boutique.

These heels come in a variety of colors from black, nude + silver to gold that are perfect for any festive occasion. Best part? They are super comfortable for all night wear because of the chunky heel!

Bye Bye 2017…

2 0 1 7 is coming to a close + while I am excited for all 2018 has to offer, I am reminiscing about the amazing year I just had. From finding my soul mate to traveling internationally, 2017 has been pretty awesome if I say so myself.

If you told me last year at this time that I would find my partner in crime, travel to London + Paris, buy my first Chanel AND get my first Mercedes, I would say NO WAY…but as 2017 ends tomorrow I am beyond happy that it is all true. I couldn’t have asked for a better year, seriously and with 2018 off to a bright start, it’s time to think about what to wear for tomorrow’s midnight countdown!

I am still in London with Mike so I am most likely not wearing a dress because it is FREEZING here currently, but I will for sure be rocking this fuzzy jacket and sparkle Betsey Johnson platform heels (because it wouldn’t be NYE without a little sparkle).

My velvet obsession has extended well past Thanksgiving and Christmas and now it is perfect for NYE. I will be wearing velvet tomorrow (a top) as a cold alternative to the dress I am wearing here. Old Navy has continued to be my go-to for holiday style because of it’s selection and price!

This fuzzy jacket is another obsession of mine. Any warm + fuzzy jacket is a friend of mine. I found two alternatives below (one is under $40, the other is a bit pricier at $180) both are super stylish for winter weather + events!

My heels are currently on sale at Macy’s + are the PERFECT shoe to wear for NYE, Valentine’s Day, your Birthday and beyond…they sparkle + are comfy…I call that a WIN!

Crazy to think 2016 is coming to a close + that 2017 is just days away! Whether you are heading to a nice dinner with family or a night out with your boo or friends, NYE is always a night for some glitz, glam + of course, a new outfit 😉 I have been crushing on velvet lately (ICYMI, I rocked a velvet green number for Christmas so why not rock some velvet again for NYE)! Zaful.com has been my current go-to for dresses. They fit great, the quality is amazing + the price point is something that can not be beat! (They are actually running a few sales on your favorite velvet styles now!)

I LOVE this bell sleeve velvet dress. It is so cozy + is great to dance the night away in (plus being able to wear any kind of bra etc is amazing – drives me crazy when I have to worry about having a ~~wardrobe malfunction~~ when out + about hehe) :p

This classic Daniel Wellington watch is perfect for any occasion (plus with an extra 15% off using code ‘MISSY15‘ who wouldn’t want to kick off the New Year in style with a New Watch :p)!

My X-Ring has been a piece I have worn for years now (everyone thinks it’s real diamonds + gold, but surprise…it’s only $25 from Amazon)!!

My sunnies are from Choies + I LOVE the design + mirrored look!

My shoes are actually Valentino Rockstud ‘look a-likes’! I found a few similar options below since I honestly can’t remember where or when I snagged these beauties haha

And my Gucci bag was part of my ‘Designer Bags under $1,000‘ roundup (for only $895 this bag is a great steal for ‘going out‘).

Tonight is the Night! N e w Year’s E V E! I can’t believe 2015 is coming to a close + I will be spending New Year’s Eve in LA for the first time E V E R!! Woohoo! While traditionally NYE for me was spent watching the Times Square ball drop from the comfort of my own living room with my family, this year I’ll be ringing in the New Year with some friends in Hollywood! Yup…Hollywood..am I a celeb yet? JK :pFunny enough I tend to stick with classic pieces when it comes to holiday/party dressing. Last year I wore this same shaggy coat + a LBD for New Year’s as well…hey if it ain’t broke, why fix it…right? While my exact dress + coat aren’t available anymore, I found similar options below 🙂

N Y E wouldn’t be perfect without a little gold bling…my current favorites? This gold cuff bracelet paired with this lariat necklace (great statement pieces that can be worn well past New Year’s Eve!)

I love this Michael Kors snakeskin clutch for special occasions. It matches with everything and the material (since it is faux and not real snakeskin) is easy to clean — drinks getting spilled at the party are ~~no match~~ for this baby 😉

Vince Camuto always makes comfortable shoes, so these gladiator heels are ideal for a long night out and can withstand hours of dancing and standing at any party! And since NYE is a night to get glam…red lipstick is a must!
