A Times Square NYE…

B Y E, B Y E 2015 — Crazy to think that 2015 is coming to a close! It’s been a big year for me + the blog…and although it’s going to be bittersweet to say goodbye to 2015, 2016 is bound to be even more exciting, scary + one hell of a ride 😉 To prep for NYE + to look back on 2015, my blogger bestie Rachel Ross and I headed to the Hyatt Hotel in Times Square (right next to where the ball drops!) for a fun filled day of relaxation at the spa, sips of champagne in a nice suite + a cocktail and appetizers at the rooftop Bar 54!Rachel + I got invited by the Hyatt Times Square to explore all they have to offer…from their rooftop bar to their luxurious and totally glam Marilyn Monroe inspired spa…the day was absolutely A M A Z I N G and it was a great way to spend a little time in NYC when I was in town last week for Christmas 🙂 I haven’t seen Rachel since before I moved to LA + what better way to catch up than with some quality girl time in the spa…After hitting the spa for some nail + hair services, we headed to the most awesome suite (complete with a picture perfect view of Times Square of course)…naturally I had to be a ‘cliche’ blogger + snap a picture…complete with flowers 😉 #SorryNotSorry Anytime I travel, bringing my laptop is a M U S T + having a room with a view is a great way to get the juices flowing and inspire some creativity in my writing…especially if it is a new city, state or town! This is the first time I actually got to sit back + relax in Times Square (normally the hustle + bustle of all the tourists makes Times Square a tad exhausting + overwhelming, but the Hyatt makes it such an easy, breezy experience). It wouldn’t be a perfect girl’s day / night without a little cheers with some champagne…R O O M service! Rachel + I reminisced about all of the things that happened to us in 2015 + our blog / career goals for 2016…basically, keep having fun + take a sh*t ton of pictures 😉 One of the coolest parts of the day was actually spending the night at the rooftop bar and seeing the infamous ‘ball’ in Times Square for the NYE Ball Drop! Talk about an amazing view!! 🙂 Rachel + I couldn’t help but stare :pSo here is to 2016! Hopefully more fun times, girls days + exciting collaborations ahead! 🙂 P.S. My go to for NYE? A chic LBD! Sparkle // Sparkle…

Sparkle, Sparkle…it’s almost time for the biggest party of the year (and no I am not referring to NYFW or the Met Gala)…I’m talking about New Year’s Eve 2014! While I still have ~~absolutely~~ no clue about what I will be doing the night the ball drops, one thing I do have somewhat of an idea about is what I will be wearing…and it includes tons of SPARKLE!What I love about New Year’s Eve is the fact that it’s one of the few times you can wear as much glitter and sparkle as you want without anyone taking a second glance…it’s like I can be the bedazzled princess I dreamed of as a little girl without people staring stunned at what I am wearing…can you say dream come true? Well, any excuse to wear a dress and sparkly heels is fine by me 😉 I LOVE a sweetheart neckline (on a side not if and when I ever get married…mark my words, the dress will be a sweetheart design) and especially a fit and flare style like this glittery dress I found at Charlotte Russe! Nothing is better than glitz and glamour on a budget right?

If you are up for the splurge Saks, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales all carry this gorgeous Jill Stuart gold strapless dress (it is STUNNING) and can be ordered for express delivery with free shipping whenever you are ready! I don’t know about you but whenever I wear something without sleeves I always feel the need to pair it with a blazer. Whether it’s heading to dinner, the club or even just a house party, you never know when chilly air may strike and you don’t want to feel uncomfortable at a fun event. I think white is a great color for New Year’s so pair a white boyfriend blazer with a dress, a top and skirt or a top and pants is a great way to keep warm but also stay stylish.Now for the fun stuff…shoes and bag swag. My clutch is from Michael Kors…the hardware on the python clutch adds to the sparkle of the dress and the heels…plus the clutch comes with an attachable chain strap so you can wear the clutch as a shoulder bag to keep your hands free for drinks and h’orderves.My shoes make a statement all on their own. I got these Nine West glitter sandals two years ago and they have been my go to New Year’s Eve footwear ever since. They sparkle, shine and are actually comfortable!
