Mondays are made for…new spring outfit inspo. I hope everyone had a great weekend (I know I sure did!) and had a Happy Mother’s Day! I spent my weekend embracing the fabulous weather and beginning my search for perfect clothes for my upcoming trip to LA! It is quite challenging to find trendy, sexy yet cute and casual picks that are ideal for a little getaway…sooo safe to say my search rages on…

But on another note, today’s look is cute, casual and reminiscent of fall with the maroon hues mixed with plaid (a little throwback to when I wore colorful plaid in the fall months).

I took a break from reality TV tonight (and if you aren’t caught up, by tonight I mean last night since I write my posts the night before they are published…I like to be confusing…it’s my specialty…just ask the guys I go on dates with that remain befuddled after it’s over haha :p). Anyway, I managed to get myself away from Bravo for a night and am writing this post while watching a marathon of ‘Big Bang Theory‘ which without ~~fail~~ always has me laughing…Sheldon Cooper never ceases to amuse me 🙂 What else amazes me? The fact that I am actually able to wear leopard print without feeling like I look like Snooki (Jersey Shore version…now I love her…#fitspiration). This look also includes one of my spring time essentials…ripped skinny jeans!

So for real, I am ~~not~~ feeling the snow…like at all. I ~~hate~~ having to bundle up like an eskimo and I can’t stand my face freezing the second I walk out the door…but I guess Mother Nature feels us New Yorkers are strong enough to tough out these freezing weather conditions…I mean why else would we have to put up with these shenanigans 😉

Anyways one thing I am semi-ok with this season is the ability to wear faux fur vests every day along with OTK boots (these Target ones have become my obsession…for under $40 they should be yours too…just saying!)I may have mentioned in previous posts, but I was never one for animal prints. I feel they have to be done the right way to look nice without being tacky I suppose…and I think this faux fur leopard vest does just the trick. A little animal print layered over some simple key pieces is an easy go to…especially for a Friday when I’m rushing from the office then out to dinner, drinks (aka me not drinking) or events. My simple pieces: this black Lush button down + some comfy jeggings. I know a lot of people are against the jegging but listen…they are super comfortable and have the look and feel of jeans without me feeling suffocated all day long so they are a ‘win‘ in my book 😉

Accessory wise I kept things toned down…all black everything woo! Black ‘Mini Mac’ bag from Rebecca Minkoff + my black suede OTK boots from Target (on sale now!)

While I may look warm and snuggly in this look I can assure you I am not…I was freezing while shooting this so yea…wear a coat…especially this weekend (bracing myself for more snow ugh!) :p | Click To Shop + Share My Look |

Polka Dot Throwback…

It’s #ThrowbackThursday everyone which gives me the fair and equal right to share this look that was shot back in August with you guys today 😉 (I love how #TBT makes it ok to share old things and make them new…don’t you?!) Ok so let’s get down to business because I am writing this while cracking up hysterical at George Lopez on WWHL (such a Bravo addict…#SorryNotSorry) and need to attempt to get some R & R to properly function at work (insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes here lol)I love everything about this look because it is truly ‘Missy’ in a nutshell…it’s girly, includes my favorite white boyfriend blazer, my signature Rebecca Minkoff mini mac bag and of course…a skater skirt!My white boyfriend blazer is from LC By Lauren Conrad but I found an identical blazer on sale for under $30 at SheInside here. Any excuse to wear a skirt is fine by me…especially one with a flirty print like this polka dot one (available from Choies here).My Rebecca Minkoff mini mac bag is another one of my signature “go to’s” when I am ~~unsure~~ of what to wear for a date, a girls’ night or even just to run errands. And…with a good bag comes even better shoes…enter these NYLA beauties (available on my Poshmark here). They are cute, unique and show off my pedicure (here’s to warm weather wishing…I ~~can’t~~ wear these beauties for a while!)On a side note…I am not ~~enjoying~~ this freezing cold weather…when I look at outfits like this it makes me miss summer more and more…sigh.| Click To Shop My Look |

Tis’ the season to dress like a favorite holiday time treat…a candy cane of course! I instantly fell in love with this ensemble the second I slipped into it and decided that it was a total ‘Holiday‘ must! Who doesn’t love to dress up like a candy cane for Christmas? Now they won’t just be hanging on the tree…but also in your closet 😉 Now that’s what I’d like to call…sweet! It’s the next look up in my ‘Holiday Dressing’ guide…you can see previous looks here, here + here.Before breaking down the look I wanted to just say I hope you all had a fabulous ‘Pre-Christmas’ weekend! I based my whole look around a simple red and white striped scarf (the one I am wearing is from Old Navy and is ~~no longer available~~) but I found similar options (that are on sale of course) here + here.After the scarf came into play…the rest of the outfit just fell into place. Old Navy always has a great selection of solid sweaters that can be worn for any occasion, so I grabbed this white scoop neck sweater on sale for under $20! (Great last minute gift idea ladies and gents!)I’ve had this red faux leather skirt for over a year now and I honestly can’t remember where I snagged it but I found a similar one from BCBG at 6pm.com on sale here!As if the skirt wasn’t enough red…add on one of my favorite styles from Rebecca Minkoff…the ‘mini affair bag‘! Zappos has it on sale now with free shipping here.I decided to go simple with the shoes (couldn’t add any more red…would have been a bit much…don’t ya think?!) So nude patent leather pumps are always chic and are an essential for every fashionista’s wardrobe.
