White As Day…

Speaking of white…you know what is covered in white? Long Island! Because once again it is snowing…#SoOverThisWeather. I am beginning to feel like winter will be lasting a lot longer than I would like so naturally I decided to begin dressing ‘springy‘ hopefully to give mother nature a little *hint hint* to warm up already! (If not I will have to warm up on my upcoming trip to LA that I just booked yesterday! I can’t wait for some sunshine and a nice tan!) Anyways…like I’ve mentioned before, the only thing I do like about all this snow is that it makes for a pretty backdrop…if only it wasn’t such a ~~menace~~ the rest of the time :p While this look isn’t the most practical outfit for this weather, I kinda don’t care because I miss being able to bare my legs and wear skater skirts! (I can’t stand wearing stockings or tights).

I love the neutral colors in this outfit…browns and whites have been my go to shades for winter. Although it’s a ~~faux paux~~ to wear white in winter…let alone a white faux leather skirt, I dared to anyway…and I am pretty content with the result 😉 pair it with a chic sweater and a cute scarf and a primarily spring/summer pieces is turned into a winter essential.

My accessories I kept simple…although I am not wearing them in the photos I recently got these yellow aviators and love them (they will definitely be packed for my upcoming California {post from last year’s visit} trip!). You can ~~never~~ go wrong with neutral hues when it comes to shoes and bags because they can easily be transitioned from season to season and can be worn with any look. These taupe suede booties (which are on sale from ShopBop btw – Use code BigEvent15 for discount) can be worn all year long and can be styled in multiple ways! My Coach cross body has been getting use no matter what the season since I purchased it a year ago (great investment!).

Hopefully today is the last of the snow because every time I go to take photos there is still slush and ice on the ground…not ~~ideal~~ to show off my new spring wear (insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes haha)| Click To Shop + Share My Look |

Friday Night White…

Ok, yes…I am making a fashion ‘~~faux pas~~‘ today by wearing white in the dead of winter…especially with a light wash chambray shirt (gasp) I am getting a ~~little~~ crazy…what can I say 😉 I simply LOVE white jeans and pairing it with this light wash chambray shirt makes for the perfect combo for a Friday night. Whether it’s heading to the movies, the bar or even dinner…I love a great casual look that isn’t ‘plain’ or ‘sloppy’ looking…I call this…dressed up yet dressed down.My white jeans are from Old Navy but Charlotte Russe has great ones (which I actually ordered whilst I was writing this post haha) for under $30 here. My light wash chambray shirt was an H&M clearance find forever ago (PS a little secret about this shirt…it constantly has to be steamed but I kinda refuse to do so…oops…just adds to it’s ‘casual’ vibe).So this Gucci ‘Soho Tote’ is actually my mom’s which she so kindly let’s me borrow from time to time…although I have my new Gucci ‘Soho Work Tote‘ that I’ve worn before (if you missed it I wore it here) I still have a thing for this bag as well #GucciAddict #SavingForAnother (#SorryNotSorry)!Anytime I wear white pants I feel it is almost necessary to go with a nude shoe and since we are trying to make a chambray top and white jeans a bit ‘dressy‘, why not pair the look with nude suede open toe booties like these ones from Nine West.Now don’t ~~judge~~ me but I actually ended up coincidentally wearing this look tonight (I am currently writing this post at 1am…and I know I will regret this in the morning but oh well) I went out, I lived a little and I wore white…| Click To Shop My Look |

It’s #ThrowbackThursday everyone which gives me the fair and equal right to share this look that was shot back in August with you guys today 😉 (I love how #TBT makes it ok to share old things and make them new…don’t you?!) Ok so let’s get down to business because I am writing this while cracking up hysterical at George Lopez on WWHL (such a Bravo addict…#SorryNotSorry) and need to attempt to get some R & R to properly function at work (insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes here lol)I love everything about this look because it is truly ‘Missy’ in a nutshell…it’s girly, includes my favorite white boyfriend blazer, my signature Rebecca Minkoff mini mac bag and of course…a skater skirt!My white boyfriend blazer is from LC By Lauren Conrad but I found an identical blazer on sale for under $30 at SheInside here. Any excuse to wear a skirt is fine by me…especially one with a flirty print like this polka dot one (available from Choies here).My Rebecca Minkoff mini mac bag is another one of my signature “go to’s” when I am ~~unsure~~ of what to wear for a date, a girls’ night or even just to run errands. And…with a good bag comes even better shoes…enter these NYLA beauties (available on my Poshmark here). They are cute, unique and show off my pedicure (here’s to warm weather wishing…I ~~can’t~~ wear these beauties for a while!)On a side note…I am not ~~enjoying~~ this freezing cold weather…when I look at outfits like this it makes me miss summer more and more…sigh.| Click To Shop My Look |

White Whimsy…

Happy Monday Lovers! I’m bringing a little warmth back to the blog with this whimsical white pleated dress that I loved all summer long except I had to somewhat make it transition to the colder fall and winter months…my solution? A motorcycle jacket of course 😉 And yes to answer your question, I was freezing when shooting this over the weekend…but how does the old saying go? Pain is beauty…in this case toughing out the cold NY weather is the cost to look halfway decent on the blog haha I love all things girly girl and in case this look didn’t scream ‘girly‘, I will reassure you that not every girl loves pleated dresses but It’s an essential for every fashionista to have in their closet. Whether it’s a pleated skirt or even a dress like the one I’m wearing, it’s a timeless piece that will never go out of style and that’s something I can always get behind. I honestly can’t remember where I got this dress but I found two similar options here + here. To make the look a little edgier, I layered a black motorcycle jacket over it which A) kept me semi warm while shooting + B) Made the look a little less ‘frilly’ and ‘girly’ than it has typically looked previously. I found a motorcycle jacket I LOVE from Piperlime and it retails for under $50 now that’s what I call a steal!Now to break down the shoe and bag game…which is always my favorite part of any look. What a girl can’t love her shoes and bags? 😉 My nude ankle strap sandals have been a favorite of mine to wear on the blog for a while now because A) Nude shoes make you look taller and for a 5’3 shortie like me, I could use all the height I could get to pretend to be a model haha! + B) They match with EVERYTHING! They are available for under $50 at 6pm.com here.My bag was a TJ Maxx clearance find but I found a similar one from Nordstrom except in a different shade. I can never get enough of the design of the Rebecca Minkoff Affair Bag and this mini one is no excpetion…plus it came in the girliest of colors…pink! What else can a gal ask for?!I also opted to rock some sunnies once again and instead of going to my favorite mirrored aviators, I switched things up with black ones here.On a side note I became obsessed with a new song over the weekend which I am currently listening to while writing this post. It’s called ‘Say Something’ from Karen Harding and all I want to do is basically dance my a** off every time I hear it (sorry mom but yea I curse…even on the blog).
