(Tap For Details) is a phrase I pretty much use on my Instagram everyday along with every other blogger out there, however with the rising trend of snapping and posting fashion pics comes specially developed apps used just for that purpose! Meaning…tapping is pretty much self explanatory and just for fashionistas like yourself!

Here’s my quandary…Which app is the fashion app for you? All of these fashion apps have the same concept: 1) Upload a pic of your style, a clothing item, someone else’s style or pretty much anything you want fashion related…2) Tag the items in that post using brand names, categories, colors etc….3) Share your post with the world via social media. Sounds pretty similar to Instagram right?

So what is the purpose of all these fashion apps? Easy, have accessible style to all with just the tap of your finger. These apps are speciality formatted to allow users to search by trends, categories, seasons…whatever fashion your looking for, these apps will help you find it.

Now which app is for you…do you sign up for all of them? 4 of them? 2? Maybe just one? This is my issue…currently I’m on Famest (as pictured above), Pose & Trendabl…I believe at some point I was on Snapette & Style Tag as well but after a while it gets hard to maintain all of them…plus Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and the blog itself! Turns into a full time job just to share your personal style!

So here’s the skinny on what makes each app different (Your Welcome 😉 )

FamestNow this app is a little over a year old, originated in Belgium and in my opinion is revolutionary. Basically, after posting your style, every time that image gets ‘Likes’ from other users, you earn points…these points can be used towards rewards from your favorite brands and designers, like being able to enter giveaways & contests exclusively on Famest or by receiving coupons, discounts or special offers on your favorite products..simply for having killer style! Umm kinda amazing! (Available online & as an app)

Snapette: This app is designed not to necessarily focus on what your wearing but rather to share those moments when you step into a store, see that dreamy handbag that you simply have to have and while it may take you 3 months to afford it, you ‘snap’ a pic of it…upload it to Snapette and continue to lust after it along with all your fellow fashionistas on the app. Basically it’s a great way to share individual items rather than overall looks. (Available online & as an app)

Trendabl: With celebs like Nicky Hilton and Michael Kors standing behind this app, you know it’s a hit. Trendabl is a platform that allows designers, brands, stores, bloggers and just about anyone to share their personal style pics..include tags for what they are wearing and store their favorite looks in ‘draws’ for later outfit inspiration! (Available on the app store only)

Pose: Similar to Trendabl, users on Pose can upload their personal style shots, tag items and share it with friends. Pose has been endorsed by style icon Rachel Zoe and what I personally love about Pose is the fact that you can use it on the computer or on your phone! They also have a great tech support team that answeres any user questions right away…that’s always a great thing! (Available online & as an app)

Style Tag: Style Tag is also similar to Pose and Trendabl, however what makes it different is once you post and tag your style shots, the app can help users find items similar to what your wearing because come on…half the pieces I wear were on clearance 5 months ago and simply may not be able to be found anymore, however there’s tons of pieces out there with a similar style and taste just waiting to be bought! (Available online & as an app)

Hope This Helps With Your Style App Decisions! Follow me on the apps below: @MissyOnMadison (Keep things simple…have one username for all your platforms…social media marketing 101 🙂 )

    What Time Is It MK?

    What Time Is It MK?

Working in NYC I tend to get asked a lot, ‘Excuse me what time is it?’…Yes, hard to believe that in the age where we wear watches as a bracelet and have phones glued to our hands, that people still ask eachother what time it is but hey to each his own. Anyway, there is no better way to accessorize an outfit and keep on track during the day than with a watch that stands out and will never go out of style.

This brings me to why I LOVE Michael Kors watches. Besides the fact that I have a major style crush on Michael and think no one ever made jeans, a white tee and a black blazer look so good…I love that he caters to every type of woman. Meaning he has watches that are $150-$300 for the gal in high school, college, or a newbie to the working world, and then he has pieces that can cost upwards of $800…the choice is completely up to you. He makes versatile styles that can go with any outfit and the best part in my opinion is the quality.

I’m not going to lie, I happen to be guilty of owning a few Michael Kors watches myself…because like shoes, handbags and outfits…a fashionista always needs options. However something I will always love about a good watch is that it is timeless (haha had to throw that in there..time..timeless..oh it’s going to be a great day 🙂 ) Anyway, watches are a signature staple of every outfit and whichever you wear says a lot about you…whether it’s bedazzled, simple, pink, blue…that watch speaks wonders about your personality and when someone shakes your hand…it’s part of a first or last impress 😉 Choose Wisely!

Also! This is my first post using Polyvore and may I just say it is kinda amazing! Making collages with embedded links to shop direct…what a genius idea! <3

What do I love more than a chic moto jacket? A bright NEON moto jacket! I have to say this outfit is one of my favorites on the blog so far. Karen Kane was so sweet and sent me this lovely jacket and while my family looked at me like how and when will you ever wear that, I was beyond thrilled. Moto Jackets have become quite popular recently and this one, with it’s unique color is totally fun and unexpected!

Wear it for date night, sunday brunch with the girls or simply out and about when your feeling like grabbing a little extra attention. This jacket is a great piece for every fashionistas closet!

I decided to wear it with dark tones for a more ‘punk rock’ look, so I wore it with Hue Vegan Leather Leggings (See ‘Lust vs Must Post on Leather Leggings), a plain tee I scored on clearance at Urban Outfitters years ago, of course my Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini Mac’ bag and my Coach Lavania Heels!

I love this outfit because it’s fun and refreshing…not to mention I feel totally sexy in it and what girl doesn’t want that?! Add a few sparkly accessories like my Topshop for Nordstrom jewels and your ready for anything!

Happy Monday Fashionistas! It’s finally starting to warm up in the big apple and that means I can actually wear something a little lighter! In previous posts I’ve professed my love for ‘Hue‘ jeggings but once again I have to give credit where credit is due…these jeggings first of all look like great quality pants and second they are extremely comfortable for all day wear!

I love the burgundy tone of these pants because they are a great transition piece for fall into winter. They go with just about everything and can be dressed up or down, whether it’s to head to the office or out to dinner…they aren’t too dressy or too casual, they are just right.

I decided to pair them with a simple black chiffon top from Old Navy along with this cute white quilted vest because come on, we all know every outfit looks better with a vest layered over it! To dress up the look, I paired this ensemble with these amazing Nine West suede booties…that are comfortable and fabulous…a win/win for all!

And last but not least, to tie the whole look together….making it’s debut on the blog, a present to myself, a new Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier Print…because one Neverfull is never enough and what girl doesn’t like options when it comes to a little LV?

In true NYC fashion I will be hustling and bustling today… running from the office straight to the Jay-Z concert in Brooklyn at Barclays with my lovely boyfriend 🙂 That sure beats the Monday Blues!

    Casual Meets Sparkle

    20140108-123133.jpg
Leave it up to me to dress up an otherwise ordinary outfit with some brightly colored accessories to make a statement. There is something I love about adding a little glitz and glam to a casual outfit that calls for some glances. This outfit is one of those looks!

I scored this gray H&M sweater for $10…on clearance right before Christmas…yes people a $10 oversized sweater is pretty much a little slice of heaven to me! Naturally oversized sweaters look great with simple leggings like I’m wearing, but I have this thing for adding a little extra something weather it be a blazer, cardigan or in this case a denim vest.

Typically winter is a time for quilted puffer vests or faux fur vests (which if you’ve seen previous posts you know I certainly wear a lot of), but why not break the mold and go for denim…yes the whole point of a vest is a little extra warmth, but with an already warm and cozy sweater I think it’s just fine to go for a fashionable look and rock a little denim in the winter! It’s always a smart idea to think and dress outside the box!

As with every look, it’s all about the accessories. These Old Navy booties have lasted me 2 years of harsh weather conditions and are still as fabulous as the day I bought them. The color goes with practically everything and they are super comfortable! To add to the casual, laid back look, I went for a mini satchel cross-body bag from Rebecca Minkoff. The rose gold color adds a little extra glam to any outfit and it has enough room to fit all the essentials and lays perfectly.

Last but not least, my favorite part of this look…this H&M stunning necklace. I got this on clearance back in the spring and every time I wear it I cause a stir! It’s huge, sparkly and simply amazing! Adding a statement necklace to any ensemble adds a little extra ‘oomph’ that every fashionista desires!
