    College Fashion Week LA Recap…

Happy Sunday + I hope you all had a fabulous, fun-filled weekend (I sure did)! Saturday night I had the opportunity to attend College Fashion Week here in LA with my blogger gal pal Natalie of HashTagFablife (if you love beauty tutorials + fashion tips, you will love her site). The event was in Culver City + it was made up of 4 different ‘mini’ fashion shows where college students were the models walking the runway! There was sorority wear, night out wear + preppy wear.

Other than the cute styles rocked by fab college students (which I thought was so great for them btw – I love young gals getting to strut their confidence in a positive way)! Talk about Women Empowering Women ♥  In between each runway show guests had the chance to explore some of the great sponsors (like getting brow services from European Wax Center…my favorite). But, the best sponsors came from the styles the gals got to wear down the runway!

First, I should mention I was lucky enough to get the ‘VIP‘ treatment while attending College Fashion Week…meaning I got to sit front row + I received the best swag bag ever! (more about that later :p)

The models each wore different designers in all four shows, but each look consisted of handbags from Rebecca Minkoff (so it kinda worked out perfect that I wore my favorite Rebecca Minkoff Affair Bag to the show myself hehe), watches from Bertha Watches + shoes from Vince Camuto (yup you guessed it, my pumps worn here were actually from Vince Camuto as well haha).

I think Rebecca Minkoff + Vince Camuto are great brands for college students to wear since they have a luxury feel at a convenient price point 🙂 I definitely have my fair share of picks from both brands!

Other sponsors included Perfumania, Drybar + Fitbit!

For these fun sponsors I am going to reveal what was in my swag bag because TBH it is pretty major…

I love finding new fragrances that really help me feel great everyday – honestly, when you smell good, you feel good (in my opinion at least). Perfumania has a wide array of fragrances, sets + designers. Whether you are looking for a classic sent from Chanel or a new fresh sent from let’s say Juicy Couture (this perfume smells…amazing, no joke)…Perfumania has got ya covered!

I have wanted to try Fitbit forever…I am not a savvy fitness gal but I want to be able to track my steps, my calories + more to make sure I am at least on a track for success! I think Fitbit Flex 2 is great for that since it works with your lifestyle + with the thin design it looks stylish no matter what outfit you are wearing.

Drybar was probably one of my favorite sponsors! I have already been obsessed with their dry shampoo + some other products, so I am super pumped about trying Triple Sec, which I heard is a fan favorite. And…my favorite thing? Drybar gave a complimentary blowout to all attendees (which I am off to go use as we speak :p)!

Two other sponsors were Hanes + Maidenform (pretty much the essentials for undergarments which are the foundation of any look)! Their newest styles are great to wear with any outfit no matter what the cut or fit 😉

The entire College Fashion Week experience was also sponsored by People StyleWatch (one of my go to magazines for fashion inspo + news)!

Here’s some of what was in my bag:

I highly encourage all of you to try and attend College Fashion Week in your city next year! They have been on the East + West coast…fashion doesn’t sleep + neither do they!

Happy Cinco de Mayo fashionistas! I can just imagine the party and celebration happening in Mexico right now, and although I’m not necessarily downing a Margarita today to commemorate the holiday, I certainly felt it was suiting to dress for the occasion!cincodemayo flowers yellowflowers style blog blogger missyonmadison rebeccaminkoff mirrored aviators
Naturally, any party isn’t a party without a little color. I spotted this skirt at
Target on clearance and fell in love! Who doesn’t love a fun colorful print for spring…matches the yellow flowers in my front yard…totally not planned on purpose but definitely a bonus 🙂

    Shades Of Spring…

spring michaelkors missyonmadison blog blogger shoes fashion pink pinkshoes pumps nyc style styleblog fashionblog

One of the many things I LOVE about the spring season is the beginning of color. The shades of spring…pastels, neons, patterns, and most importantly…pops of color! While I am one to stand out with my colorful outfit choices, not everyone is…so I’ve come up with a solution, accessorize with color without letting it take over your whole look!

Getting back to one of my favorite things about my blog, affordability, I put together some fun options that you can rock to embrace a little color this spring and the best part? Everything is under $50 😉 Your Welcome <3 Read more
