    Lemon Lime

    20140331-103423.jpg

I’m embracing color in preparation for my trip to California for Lucky Fabb West 2014! This, I believe will be one of the many…and I mean many looks I will be packing for my 4 day trip! I’m already prepping myself for my luggage being overweight at the airport but I’m a firm believer in the fact that you can never be too prepared for what’s to come. I have quite the itinerary planned for my Cali trip, and the right outfit is always essential!

While it’s rainy and dreary in the big apple today, this look can brighten up any day. I’m probably one of the few gals who dares to wear a lime green moto jacket but let me tell ya…it’s head turning 😉 What girl doesn’t like to make a statement! In addition, spicing the look up with white jeans and mirrored sunnies is suiting for a walk down Rodeo Drive don’t ya think?

I got this Karen Kane jacket gifted to me and I love it. It’s unique, different and neon…all of my favorite things wrapped into one stylish look! When I slip it on I feel kind of bad ass…all I’m missing is my bike 😉 Maybe one day right? Anyways, in addition to neon, a fashion item I will always be a fan of is a crisp pair of white jeans. Once you find the right pair that flatters your figure, they are sexy with just about everything and yes, I break fashion rules by wearing white jeans year round…oops!

Fashion is all about breaking the rules and finding your own personal style. You know what flatters your body, you know what works and what doesn’t. I believe that following the trend isn’t always ideal because not every trend works for every girl. I will always love neon while other gals may hate it. I will never rock a crop top because hey I am not a twig, and flared jeans simply don’t look as fabulous on me as they do on Rachel Zoe. Pick and choose wisely…every trend is open to interpretation 🙂

    Denim & Neon

    20140328-103156.jpg

Spring in my book means short skits, denim jackets, casual looks and a little neon…and this #ootd is just that. It’s the perfect ‘Casual Friday’ ensemble that is chic, easy and stylish. It’s no surprise that spring and summer are my two favorite seasons, 1) because I have an unhealthy obsession with skirts and dresses and 2) because I LOVE sandals and wedges…sorry winter but boots have just never been my thing…I like to show off my cute pedicure year round 🙂

When I put on this outfit, all I wanted to do was go for a casual stroll in the park and relax, I think I’m getting into the whole ‘laid back’ mood in preparation for my first ever trip to California next week for Lucky Fabb West! I am beyond excited to network and meet tons of fashion bloggers like myself on the West Coast while learning from the best of the best in the blogging and media industry…talk about a once in a lifetime experience!

I’m flying out on Wednesday and I am actually staying in LA with another lovely fashion blogger and also my friend Kristi of ‘Currently Crushing‘! Talk about the perfect fashion trip! While she has coordinated my entire schedule (she is keeping me busy, that’s for sure lol!) I absolutely can’t wait to simply have some fun in the sun! One of my must have’s that’ll be in my suitcase is of course, my denim jacket.

I’ve had this baby since freshman year of college and it has never let me down. Layer it over a sundress, cute tank or just about anything and it gives off that ‘chill’ vibe while still looking chic and well put together. Another essential I’ll be bringing to Cali is the perfect neon bag…nothing stands out on Rodeo Drive like a lime green purse right? 😉 I’m hoping to get spotted by TMZ, Harvey call me haha!

The Perfect ‘LBS’ – Little Black Shoe

    20140129-101048.jpg

If you ask me, sometimes you need to start from the ground up…in life and in dressing. What do I mean exactly?

In the words of Rebecca Bloomwood from one of my favorite movies ‘Confessions Of A Shopaholic‘, “Consider your shoe and investment…everything is resting upon it”. The shoes are an essential part of the outfit and each shoe must earn it’s way into your wardrobe (I just love how I can make something like shoes sound oh so serious using quotes from movies 😉 ), anyway, a good pair of shoes is hard to find, and when you are going to invest in a pair, you want a pair that is versatile, gets a lot of use and will go with practically anything…introducing my new term ‘LBS’ Little Black Shoe.

A LBD or Little Black Dress may be a go to for ladies everywhere when it comes to what to wear for any occasion, but what about the footwear? Our go to shoe is 9 times out of 10 a classic black pump whether it’s leather, suede, patent leather etc. Black is classic, Black is chic, Black is never going out of style…LBS, always a safe bet!

In honor of the LBS, I had to put together a ’round-up’ of my favorite pairs that will always be a great investment! (And yes there are Manolo’s and Choo’s involved…making it a true investment!) 🙂

    Feeling Feisty

    20140324-101833.jpg

Happy Monday Fashion Lovers! I feel like a brand new woman this morning because I officially have 20/20 vision! No more fumbling with contacts or getting dry eyes…this chick can see clearly now  and I’ve never been happier 🙂

I love this look because why not start the week off with a bang! I love a cute faux fur vest and even more so, I love a little leopard…it’s sexy, fierce and fun…you can’t beat that combination! I scored this Karen Kane vest on clearance two years ago at Lord & Taylor and still wear it religiously from season to season…not only does it keep me warm, it’s as chic as can be.

Another piece I loveeee about this look is this Michael Kors bag. As I was putting outfits together for future blog posts I found this gem in my closet and totally forgot purchasing it (#bloggerproblems). I bought this over the summer because it reminded me of the gorgeous Stella McCartney bag {Here} I wanted that I simply wasn’t ready to splurge on yet, and honestly this Michael Kors bag does just the trick and it is simply stunning for work or play!

In addition to the perfect bag, the outfit wouldn’t be complete without these fabulous nude booties from Nine West. They are comfortable, stylish and make me feel even more feisty in this simple ensemble 😉

I feel like I’m finally ready to take the world by storm, so excuse me while I prance around NYC with perfect vision 🙂

    Bye Bye Four Eyes

    20140320-084208.jpg

Today is the beginning of the end…kind of contradictory, but what I mean to say is today is the last day I will ever need to wear glasses or contacts because I am undergoing LASIK eye surgery!

I first learned I had to wear glasses because I was near-sighted (meaning I can’t read things 5 feet in front of me, never understood why near-sided means the opposite of how it sounds and vice versa…but that’s another story) when I was in 2nd grade. I was devastated as any child would be when they learned they had to wear the dreaded ‘glasses’. Now while I wasn’t a fan of having to wear them, I was a fan of driving my mother crazy when it came to choosing frames year after year, because as a fashion lover at a young age…I was most certainly not wearing one pair of frames for the rest of my public school career. I went through tons of pairs till I ventured into my Junior/Senior year of high school (I graduated a year early, hence doubling up everything in one year).

I began using contacts and was instantly thrilled and felt like a new person, however wearing them all day from school to work to play, they began to irritate my eyes and make me virtually blind as soon as 10pm rolled around. I dealt with it up till now but finally after tons of encouragement on how life changing the LASIK procedure is, I decided it was about time to ditch the dry eyes and dirty contacts covered in my eye liner and mascara for perfectly clear vision!

I am beyond excited for my procedure today, but at the same time a bit nervous. As with any procedure there’s a slim chance that something can go wrong, so here’s to hoping I don’t end up blind 😉

    Wish Me Luck! 🙂
