It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without a little green! I actually got to venture out last weekend and shoot at some new spots…this one being Venice! I’ve heard plenty of mixed things about Venice, but after exploring and finding the cutest shops, restaurants (and plenty of colorful backdrops)…I got sold on it 😉 Safe to say plenty of more shoots will be happening there haha :p But…back to St. Patty’s Day…green it is!
This look is super simple yet chic. I always love incorporating color into any look I wear, so this All For Color kimono was the perfect piece to build my look around.
I finally made it to the Getty (ok…maybe I actually made it to the Getty like over a month ago but I am just posting this now…#oops :P) Well better late than never right? haha I went to the Getty for the first time since moving to LA with Kristi and Joel (who I haven’t seen in forever!) and took some great shots wearing a winter to spring transition look 🙂
The Getty Museum is absolutely gorgeous! While I didn’t actually check out the museum (because come on…let’s be honest…we were there just to snap photos haha typical bloggers for ya). The grounds and buildings are stunning. It was something I never would have been able to experience in NY, it was definitely a great place to shoot and I can’t wait to go back and actually experience everything the Getty has to offer (not in blogger mode lol).
Happy T B T! Clearly I am doing ‘Winter‘ cleaning when it comes to my iPhoto Library because I found this shoot from back in October and realized I had never shared it! A little winter white with my favorite skinny jeans + my favorite cozy blanket scarf (aka the most popular scarf on Pinterest)? Too goodnot to share!
What’s crazy is seeing how different I look since these were taken! Fun Fact, since October I have lost over 25 pounds…I feel like I am back to myself again after gaining 20 pounds since moving to LA (what can I say…In-N-Out is addictive :p) But I am back on track and happy to look back at these photos to see how far I’ve come 😉
My look is simple — C O Z Y to the M A X! Blanket Scarves have been my obsession since September (if you missed my post, some of my favorites are HERE) and they continue to be my easy go-to every morning! This maroon floppy hat has also been a fall into winter favorite of mine.
Someone has a case of the M O N D A Y ‘ S…ok maybe it’s me and maybe you too? :p I had one heck of a weekend + I already can’t wait for the upcoming 3 day weekend that is just 5 days away (let the countdown begin) because I need some R&R like nobody’s business 😉 (got to look forward to something, right? haha)
Saturday, I headed to the famous Laugh Factory on Sunset (still can’t believe Sunset is only 5 minutes from where I live #surreal)…since laughter is honestly the best medicine for when you are feeling drained or need a little pick me up! Yesterday I headed to Kristi’s house for a Vera Bradley themed brunch to celebrate the launch of their new candle, soaps + fragrance sets! Pretty flowers, macaroons + popcorn…made for the perfect #SundayFunday! You can see more on my SnapChat – MissyOnMadison, Twitter + Insta <3
Here are some of my current favorites from the brunch:
Back to my outfit…My brother shot this look on me back in May when we were visiting USC (in true Missy fashion I needed to share my ‘college‘ style even though I graduated college years ago haha!) But…if I was still in school…this would be a great casual look!
Since this was shot back in the spring, it was sandal season…although I still wear sandals like these (similar) even now during winter in LA (it ain’t NY cold so why not)! These sandals are from J. Crew Factory, but these silver Birkenstocks are really similar and very comfortable (is it bad I want to buy these too? #oops)!
Happy D E C E M B E R! I cant believe it’s officially the Holiday season + that it is December. My first December in LA…filled with sunshine, a light breeze and the ability to wear my summer + fall favorites year round…Y A Y! It’s still crazy to me to think I get to shoot outfits in Beverly Hills (this park is just a few hundred feet from the famous ‘Beverly Hills‘ sign that I see the TMZ Tour Bus stop by every time I am in the area — maybe they think I’m a celeb :p jk…one day right? #wishfulthinking).I have always favored white as my hue of choice when it comes to jeans. I am obsessed with white jeans — perfect to wear with sweaters, button downs, chambray tops and even with this cold shoulder blouse! I feel white looks so chic and wearing white jeans in the winter really makes a statement! Some of my favorite white jeans are here (btw they are at all different price points + fits)
Another trend I have been loving as of recent are cold shoulder tops. This one is from Kohls and is no longer available, but below are a few of my current favorites (I may or may not have ordered 1 or 2 of them #oops :p)!
As for the rest of my look…my blue Ray Bans are pretty much on every Holiday Gift Guide list + are great for any season — always have that extra ‘Pop Of Color’ :p
These Vince Camuto high heeled gladiator sandals are comfortable, chic and the nude hue is perfect for year round wear (oh yea and since there is no snow in LA, I can actually show off my pedicure year round + wear these :p)
