Happy Humpday ♥ It’s another crazy busy week with Award Season in full swing and events galore for me to attend…
It’s kind of crazy that when I was younger I would watch all of these Award Shows + Red Carpet Moments on TV or check them out in magazines and now I get to experience them for real in person! Pretty cool huh?
While I love getting glam + showing off my red carpet style hehe I also love a chic yet casual look with plenty of POPS Of Color for a bright + bold moment…and this outfit sure embodies that 😉
I LOVE bright + bold colors!! They just make me so so happy…so for a bright pink top paired with a bright yellow bag of course I had to shoot on a blue backdrop!
I love making a statement…this look is great for the winter into spring transition since it has light layering with bright pops that really ‘ring’ in spring haha
Happy Monday + Happy Martin Luther King Day! I have been a little swamped catching up with work, shooting new content + then took a little trip to Palm Springs with my bestie who I haven’t seen in foreverrr…when I say forever I actually mean forever – 5 months, no biggie, guess that’s what happens when you are adults who have demanding careers with a lot of travel haha :p Anyways, before I left for my most recent trip, I was visiting my family in NY for the holidays where I of course headed into my old stomping grounds…NYC!! Oh how I missed the Big Apple…until I went over to the west side to shoot some cityscape pictures + nearly froze to death…I became a bit of a wuss when it comes to the cold – does this mean I am officially a ‘valley girl‘? haha 😉
While I was in the city I of course had to shoot some new looks — gotta get those NYC scenes in, no yellow taxi cabs in LA…Just plenty of traffic filled with Ubers :p
I got this floral bomber jacket from She In right before I left and I have pretty much made it a staple in my wardrobe ever since. Whether you dress it up for a night out with skinny jeans + pumps or keep it casual with leggings + some sweet kicks, this jacket is going to become your newest obsession…trust me.
Fun Fact: I had to practically walk in traffic to get these shots in the middle of the day in Soho…Lydia (my fav NY based photographer) is quite the trooper…let me tell ya haha 😉
Luckily I was comfortable when shooting because I am sporting Slink Jeans. They are purposely designed for gals that are curvy and want a pair of jeans that will hug every curve in a chic way. The pair I am wearing is a legging like material and they are comfy enough to spend the entire day in without feeling like your jeans are digging in to you. Slink Jeans are just easy…they fit perfectly and let me feel confident no matter what I style them with ♥
I still have a soft spot for white pointed toe pumps (while I wear these babies for pictures and they are slightly big on me, I find nothing more chic than white pumps year round)! I am contemplating investing in a pair of white Manolo’s…very Carrie Bradshaw esq…stay tuned 😉
My little ‘Pop Of Color‘ matches this floral bomber perfectly…this Vera Bradley green crossbody bag – and it is currently on sale for under $100!!
Happy Monday! I have been so swamped lately with work + everything else happening in life that I have been completely slacking on the blog front (#GuiltyAsCharged) :p Safe to say last week was pretty crazy. Between the election + countless work events + photoshoots, I honestly don’t know how I managed to keep my head screwed on haha Anyways, a new week is here + I am trying to get back on track!
I wanted to first start by saying, I’m not really getting political on the blog, but acknowledging the crazy state in which we are living now. No matter how you voted, the state of the country right now is scary. I live in LA, and across California there have been riots, violence, marches etc. Whether you like an outcome or not, causing havoc + inconveniencing or scaring others isn’t going to change it…nor will it accomplish anything or bring positivity + happiness to this country. I for one don’t want to live in fear everyday, I want to be able to go about my day without worrying about extremists on both sides. But hopefully with time, things will get better.
On a bright + more light hearted note, I am currently trying to get in a fall state of mind which is pretty hard to do when temperatures are still in the 90s here in LA! So since a heat wave is still happening, I shall continue wearing some of my favorite dresses all season long 😉
One of my current favorites is this geo print maxi wrap dress from TwinkleDeals! What I love about wrap dresses is that they hit me at the perfect spot…they accentuate my cleavage 😉 and they flatter my figure…not a bad piece to have in your closet haha. Whether it’s work or play this piece is great to style with heels (like I did here) or make it casual with sandals for a weekend brunch with your squad (kinda feeling the whole #squadgoals thing…guess I am pretty late to the game huh? haha :p).
Anyways…this dress is under $20 from TwinkleDeals (most certainly a ‘deal‘ if you ask me) haha and it is a M U S T for your wardrobe!
I styled this dress with white pointed toe pumps (I feel like they are just classic + really dress up any look). This is such a great work to happy hour outfit…layer a blazer over this dress for a pulled together ‘board room ready‘ look or wear it plain with pumps + a going out bag (like one of these) to head straight to dinner or drinks!
I feel like white pumps are just totally F I E R C E. They are bold, clean + are just bad a** haha
Since I would be wearing this to go out, I had to wear my new Gucci mini bag ♥ Honestly I don’t need an excuse to wear this…I just love it so much haha
Happy M O N D A Y ♥ I definitely have a case of the Mondays…I feel like the weekend simply flew by (although I spent the entire weekend binging Netflix — I watched Mean Girls + the Minions movie twice each haha :p). Any who, back to the Monday grind and what better way to get ready to seize a new week than with a chic and crisp look like this one! White jeans, white pumps + a simple off the shoulder blouse from Sammy Dress (P.S. it’s under $10!)…simple + classic…one of my favorite go-to styles!
I have had a slight obsession (ok, more than slight hehe) with off the shoulder blouses as of late. This striped off the shoulder blouse from Sammy Dress is under $10 (yup, not kidding) and is a great staple to add to your wardrobe for work or play. Even though this top is under $10, the quality is still amazing! Plus, Sammy Dress has pretty fast shipping even though it’s coming internationally AND their customer service is super response and you can receive text notifications for the shipping status! YES! Anyways, I styled the top here for the office with classic white skinny jeans (this pair from Old Navy…they fit like a glove) + white pumps.
I kept the outfit simple with a metallic silver clutch (similar options linked to below) 🙂
What I love about metallics is that they match with everything and can be dressed up or down depending the occasion!
I finally made it to the Getty (ok…maybe I actually made it to the Getty like over a month ago but I am just posting this now…#oops :P) Well better late than never right? haha I went to the Getty for the first time since moving to LA with Kristi and Joel (who I haven’t seen in forever!) and took some great shots wearing a winter to spring transition look 🙂
The Getty Museum is absolutely gorgeous! While I didn’t actually check out the museum (because come on…let’s be honest…we were there just to snap photos haha typical bloggers for ya). The grounds and buildings are stunning. It was something I never would have been able to experience in NY, it was definitely a great place to shoot and I can’t wait to go back and actually experience everything the Getty has to offer (not in blogger mode lol).
