I don’t know about you BUT I am super excited for the weekend. I actually am starting a new job Monday which allows me to work from home + get out and network more with all of my favorite influencers, which is a dream come true AND I am also pumped for Mike + I’s upcoming trip to Florida for my birthday ♥ With so many exciting things happening I wanted to take a moment to stop + reflect back on how amazing 2017 was (and what an amazing start 2018 is off to)! One of my favorite moments of 2017? Visiting London twice! If you asked me in 2016 if I had any plans for international travel (let alone planned on visiting London), I would have said you were crazy. But here we are…a few weeks in to 2018 + I am sharing a look I shot at my dream photo location…the colorful houses in Notting Hill!
When I first visited London in September I wore this cape coat everywhere and when I went back in December for the holidays, this cape was still a staple for me! I feel like it is just so classy and I loved styling it over cozy sweaters to dress up an otherwise casual look.
This Louis Vuitton is another one I was lusting after for a while (it’s currently waitlist only) – it is actually considered a toiletry pouch but I love wearing it as a clutch. It is great to wear for a night out since it has tons of room and the LV signature monogram matches with everything!
# T B T to Snowy Days in N Y! I was going through my iPhoto Library and look what I found…this shoot from last winter in NY! It’s kinda great to see snow without having to have experienced it in such a long time. While it makes for a gorgeous backdrop, I used to freeze my a** off when shooting in it (#goodtimes — my poor brother wanted to kill me haha)! Because although it was the dead of winter with wind chills that felt like we were in the negatives, I still opted to wear skirts + cute little outfits that weren’t necessarily seasonally or weather wise appropriate :p Oops…
This winter look is actually perfect for LA considering the weather in NY would no way tolerate bare legs haha! I love the color maroon for winter and honestly, it appears to flatter most skin tones which is awesome…so a Maroon Skater Skirt + Faux Fur Vest were the perfect combo. P.S. I am actually selling my vest on Poshmark since I rarely wear it here :p
And…I layered a White Cable Knit Sweater to keep warm (not that LA calls for this…but I still wear it from time to time in the early morning).
Tan Leather Booties are great for winter in LA, NY + beyond! They match with everything and are ideal to dress up or dress down whether you are wearing them for work or play. Mine are from C. Wonder (sadly no longer available :/ but I linked to similar ones below) Here + Here!
Today I am…sittin’ pretty (on the blog here at least). Currently I am wrapped in a towel sitting on my bed watching re-runs of ‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’ (best show ever btw! current obsession) and relaxing after my return to the Big Apple today for my first day at my new job…which I LOVE! It’s crazy how sometimes things just fall perfectly into place…when you feel like you truly belong somewhere and your voice is heard…it’s a great feeling let me tell ya and if you haven’t experienced it yet, don’t worry one day you will.
I kept being anti-winter and anti NYC weather for the longest time but with looks like this, I can begin to embrace a little cold here and there 😉 Typically when I begin to put a look together I base it around one key piece…today’s would clearly be this great shearling vest that I got at a local boutique by me but I found similar options here, here + here. I LOVE a great vest and this shearling one keeps me warm and cozy…win/win!I really wanted the vest to take center stage so I paired it with a simplewhite cable knit sweater and black ripped jeans (both are winter staples in my book)! I always think Old Navy has the best cable knit sweaters but maybe that’s because I love a great bargain as well 😉 And my favorite part…bag and shoes! I am OBSESSED with these leopard ankle strap sandals that I snagged for…$7 at DSW! Yes, you heard me…$7! While they are no longer available I found you guys options here + here (all affordable, don’t you worry)! As you all know…I love Rebecca Minkoff and her fabulous ‘Affair’ bag available with free shipping from Zappos here. And even in the winter months I still need my mirrored aviators…they just add a little ‘pop’ to any look don’t ya think?Alright I think that’s all for now folks…I am half asleep and need some rest to get ready for another busy day in NYC! I couldn’t wait to share today’s Christmas look with you all and also share some exciting news about a Christmas gift that arrived to me a little early!First let me start by saying I hope you are all enjoying the Holiday season with your closest family and friends. I am currently sitting at home in pjs (yes we open presents in pajamas and then I beautify later or at least I try to…if I conquer up the energy to do so haha!). Usually every Christmas follows this agenda 1) Wake up and open presents 2) Have breakfast (typically my mom will make pancakes…if not cereal it is!) 3) My brother and I go to the movies (did I mention that I am half jewish and half catholic so naturally being partially jewish warrants me to go to the movies on Christmas!) and 4) Delicious feast that mama duke cooks to perfection…followed by me feeling like I am about to explode and the urge to hit the gym all at the same time hahaSo let me break down this festive little look which can also be worn for New Year’s…so crazy to think we are simple days away from a new year, a new you and some new adventures…2015 here I come! My bling and nails are as follows:
Kendra Scott Naomi Double Platinum Ring // Midi Ring // Essie ‘Borrowed & Blue’ // Caravelle NY Watch // LOVE Bracelet (on my Poshmark)I LOVE ankle strap sandals year round…I feel like nothing is sexier than a simple thin strap shoe to show off a perfect pedicure year round 😉 I found similar beauties to these ones from 6pm.com (but you can in fact shop these exact ones on my Poshmark here)It wouldn’t be Christmas without a little red! My Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini Mac’ in red is the perfect ‘Pop Of Color’ for the Holiday season and it is a bag I wear year round whenever I feel like standing out.My white cable knit sweater is from Old Navy and it is a MUST for every gal this season. Dress it up with a metallic skirt like I did here or dress it down with some jeans or leather leggings (PS those two combos are coming soon to the blog)…however you wear it, a white cable knit sweater will never go out of style (AND it is on sale now!)I couldn’t find the exact skirt I am wearing here online because it was a TJ Maxx maxxinista find 😉 But I did find some fabulous options (all on sale) here, here + here.Ok, now the moment you have all been waiting for…what was my early Christmas gift that is sure to make 2015 the best year yet?
