Summer, Summer, Summer Time! My favorite season is summer (hence moving to LA with endless summer year round :p) so of course I get excited when June, July + August roll around because I get to start wearing some of my favorite summer trends! My go-to summer piece? A cute dress! I love a great dress for weekend adventures, the office, a night out etc. so I am rounding up some of my favorite styles from Revolve Clothing + Nordstrom below ♥
Perfectly Imperfect…that’s me! I have been stressed beyond belief the past couple of weeks between transitioning to a new apartment and town, to deciding to expand my career goals to find my ‘perfect’ fit, to exploring all LA has to offer by playing tour guide to my friend visiting from NY, my schedule has been insane and I am happy to finally have a second to relax and just breathe. Sometimes it’s hard when you are constantly moving to just take a moment to collect your thoughts and focus…I was in desperate need of a moment to myself and am so thrilled to finally have it haha After having a ‘mini breakdown’ with my friend on the way to see James Cordon (which we were later turned away from because they were ‘at capacity’ ugh so annoying) she stressed an important point to me…everyone gets overwhelmed, everyone needs to freak out, cry, break down + breathe for a second…I try so hard to keep everything together and looking pristine from the outside because who wants to seem weak and vulnerable right? My fear of looking like a failure in turn is driving my nuts…yup after a heart to heart with my LI sister from another mister (shout out to my little Santa — yup her name is Santa like Santa Claus…she’s just as jolly too haha :p) it hit me that it’s ok to ask for help, it’s ok to freak out and everyone needs a good cry ♥ Now that I let it all out, it’s back to get myself back on track…sometimes venting and letting out what’s bugging you helps…or at least it’s been a huge help to me. I need to start a new cooking + fitness routine (I was totally neglecting that the past couple of months since I was beyond swamped at work). I actually am slowly but surely learning how to be domestic in my new apartment and am beyond thrilled to have my peaceful, humble abode that is all mine♥ Living alone is a dream (although my friend has been staying with me the past 2 weeks haha helping me settle in). I love having my own space + the ability to have peace and quiet to focus on my career goals and my blog which I have been slacking on lately, not gunna even try to lie :p
My outfit is perfectly imperfect…much like me at the moment. It’s simple, casual + is a mix of trends. I LOVE plaid year round, but especially for summer even though it occasionally comes off looking like a picnic table cloth haha! I paired it with simple white shorts…my go-to pick for summer (pretty much an essential for every gal TBH).
Since I am always on the go, I tend to love larger bags and this Vera Bradley cross body satchel is great for that! It can be worn as a shoulder bag or as a satchel and has room for my Macbook Air, makeup, snacks (even a back up pair of shoes)!
My booties are from Go Jane and while this style is no longer available, I found a similar style from them (here) that hits the summer booties trend right on the head!
Currently crushing on C O R A L♥ There is nothing I love more than wearing a casual, comfy dress in the summer and I think I found my signature go-to…a coral scallop trim dress like this one! The one I am wearing is from Forever 21 (in store — $5 such a steal…I still can’t believe it was that cheap) but I found two similar options from Nordstrom Rack + Forever 21 (online).
One dress…perfect to style (or dress hehe) up or down all summer long…seriously my favorite piece I recently added to my wardrobe.
What I love most about this coral dress is the fact that coral is a great shade to wear once you get a little summer glow and it is ideal to dress up with bold accessories!
These Charles By Charles David brown cork heels are my go-to summer shoe. Comfortable, stylish and totally on-trend this summer. I have always been a fan of the ‘cork’ style heels and wedges, so when I spotted these beauties at Nordstrom Rack I knew I had to get them…the best part? They are actually COMFORTABLE (yup, not kidding…I can wear these all night long with no pain)! #YASSS
Happy Monday Loves! Summer is here + I am feeling ‘picnic in the park’ kinda vibes (is that a real thing? because now it is haha)…meaning it’s time to sport some gingham :p Old Navy has become my go-to shop for all things summer…from my white jeans to this gingham printed top, I am ready for work, play and everything in between! This was shot right around the block from my new apartment in Burbank…such easy, breezy vibes ♥
My top comes in a variety of prints (I think this gingham print may be sold out — not 100% sure) 😛 But here is the link to a similar style. It’s tough to wear gingham without looking like a complete picnic table, but I found a way…pair it with skinny fitting white jeans!
