Ok…I know you all are going to yell at me and say ‘What Are You Thinking?!” wearing a skirt in the dead of winter. Well as I’ve shared with you guys before, I shoot multiple looks ahead of time (this way when temperatures are below zero I am not freezing my little butt off wearing my ever favorite skater skirt!). So this little ‘Trouble Maker’ was shot in…drum roll please…October! Yes…You heard me October. My iPhoto library is a never ending catalog of Missy approved outfits just waiting to be posted so in a way this look is a ‘FlashBack Friday’ hence why it isn’t weather appropriate…Now that we cleared the air as to why I am not covered in goosebumps here haha let’s get to the fun stuff…A) The fact that it is Friday and the start of a much needed weekend after my first full week at my new job + B) Breaking down today’s outfit details 😉This look was based around this Rock & Republic scoop neck scuba sweatshirt from Kohls (on sale now for $25!). When I spotted it in Kohls I just knew I had to have it because if you ask anyone that knows me…it’s safe to say I am the occasional ‘Trouble Maker‘ (~~oops~~).In order to dress up an otherwise ordinary sweatshirt I paired it with this cute gray quilted skater skirt from Charlotte Russe (which is only $12…total must have!). I love a good skater skirt and especially anything with a quilted design…what can I say it reminds me of Chanel haha!Another reason I love this outfit? It encompasses my two current obsessions…a Pop Of Color + Studded Pumps (which in reality have always been obsessions of mine!) I scored this orange satchel at Last Call Neiman Marcus as a last minute find, but I found two similar options here + here. My black rockstud pumps aren’t Valentino my loves…they are from Necessary Clothing for under $30 here! Yes…it’s a god send that I am thankful for every day 😉Every outfit needs a little bling! cc: Kendra Scott Naomi Ring + Michael Kors Silver Chonograph Watch I wish the weather would actually warm up so I could wear an outfit like this out again 🙁 But hey that’s what makes New York, New York right folks? I am off to work (I barely got any sleep between setting up this post and getting distracted by the newest episode of ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’…if only Patti could set me up with my perfect match…I already have the wedding essentials down pat working at Kleinfeld!)

Top 20 Winter Scarves…

So today’s post is inspired by the ~~bitter~~ cold weather NYC is currently having. Last night, I got off the train on Long Island, began walking to my car and actually starting tearing from how freezing cold it was! The wind was howling and basically forced me to run to may car as fast as I could (mind you I was in heels) and I had to wait for my hands to thaw and my face to stop feeling freezer burn before I began driving home. Naturally that put me in a tizzy and I HAD to stock up on more scarves…so I came up with a roundup of my Top 20 Scarves for Winter 2015 (still getting used to writing out 2015…I still mess up occasionally…~~oops~~)!

The day is finally here…I’m back to my old stomping grounds (two different stomping grounds that is)…today is my first day of my new position as the social media coordinator for Kleinfelds and I am beyond EXCITED! I have been searching for the right fit for a while after leaving Madison Ave last spring and after quite the journey I am pleased to be starting the new year off right with a brand new adventure that I can’t wait to embark on!

Now in regards to back to my old stomping grounds…A) I am back to commuting into the Big Apple daily and heading to work following my passion…social media 😉 + B) These photos were taken at a very old stomping ground…my elementary school! Boy has time flied (insert monkey covering it’s face emoji here haha!)While this isn’t what I am wearing for my first day of work today (you can see my daily work ensembles on snap chat — add me ‘MissyOnMadison‘…beware I am VERY NEW to the world of snap chat and needed my 14 year old sister to help me…along with some help from google just so I could learn how to write text on ‘snaps’…hey I ~~can’t know~~ it all…that would just be obnoxious haha!)Ok, now that I got the whole snap chat situation out of the way let’s get to the reason why we are all here…the outfit details! From Holiday to Every Day…

TGIF! What a week it has been…the year has changed, the holiday season has ended and I’ve stocked up on so many sales and deals my closet is nearly about to explode (not ~~kidding~~). One of the struggles that always happens once the holiday season comes to a close is how to recycle all of those great holiday pieces into every day ensembles and today’s look is the first of many posts written with that idea in mind 😉If you missed it, I rocked this shaggy pink coat (available on my Poshmark here) for my New Year’s Eve post along with a beaded skirt and swavorski crystal covered heels…festive for the ball drop of course! But today I dressed down this coat with a simple Topshop for Nordstrom camisole and Hue ‘Leatherette’ Leggings perfect for a Friday night out!One of these accessories has also gotten a lot of use during the holiday season, and now it will be a great going out bag for happy hour…this Michael Kors Python Clutch which I wore here for a different NYE post.I LOVE these nude suede open toe booties year round. They match with everything and nude is always a safe color for when you are ~~unsure~~ of what to wear for a night on the town. I found similar ones from ZooShoo here (for under $50).I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I will be out shooting some more winter time looks (that’s if I decide to dress weather appropriate…it’s a toss up haha!) and prepping to get back to work in the Big Apple! New Year…New Post!

Well let me first start off by saying ‘Happy New Year‘! Crazy how we are starting a blank page in a new 365 page book (yes, I saw that quote all over instagram and had to incorporate it somehow into my first New Year post). It’s time for a New Year and a New outfit post…naturally I chose to show off an outfit shot in 2014 in slightly warmer weather (although I insist on wearing skirts year round…even when it is snowing out…I have no shame)! So here’s to an awesome outfit to kick off 2015…a maroon moment!I love rocking a floppy hat especially one that matches my suede booties. A maroon floppy hat is something I tend to get a lot of use out of because it’s the slight pop of color and much needed accessory any outfit requires to stand out. Plus this one is on sale from TopShop for Nordstrom here.My floral kimono cardigan came from a local Long Island boutique but I found a similar one from Urban Outfitters here (and for $50 it’s a total steal). As for my maroon skater skirt I found a similar one at Nordstrom as well for under $30 here.This watch has been one of my favorite goodies sent to me in the year 2014…this Caravelle NY watch is one of my go to’s in my daily line up and it is simple, chic and goes with everything…total must have.I haven’t rocked my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Tote in a while because I always go straight to my ‘Affair Bag’ or my ‘Mini Mac Bag’ but now that I’ve worn it again I think you will be seeing a lot more of it in the new year! And last but not least…the shoes. I bought these maroon suede Calvin Klein booties over a year ago and I found them again at Lord & Taylor for just $32!
