    Feeling Feisty

    20140324-101833.jpg

Happy Monday Fashion Lovers! I feel like a brand new woman this morning because I officially have 20/20 vision! No more fumbling with contacts or getting dry eyes…this chick can see clearly now  and I’ve never been happier 🙂

I love this look because why not start the week off with a bang! I love a cute faux fur vest and even more so, I love a little leopard…it’s sexy, fierce and fun…you can’t beat that combination! I scored this Karen Kane vest on clearance two years ago at Lord & Taylor and still wear it religiously from season to season…not only does it keep me warm, it’s as chic as can be.

Another piece I loveeee about this look is this Michael Kors bag. As I was putting outfits together for future blog posts I found this gem in my closet and totally forgot purchasing it (#bloggerproblems). I bought this over the summer because it reminded me of the gorgeous Stella McCartney bag {Here} I wanted that I simply wasn’t ready to splurge on yet, and honestly this Michael Kors bag does just the trick and it is simply stunning for work or play!

In addition to the perfect bag, the outfit wouldn’t be complete without these fabulous nude booties from Nine West. They are comfortable, stylish and make me feel even more feisty in this simple ensemble 😉

I feel like I’m finally ready to take the world by storm, so excuse me while I prance around NYC with perfect vision 🙂

    Flower Power!

    20140314-110938.jpg

With the weather finally starting to feel like spring, I decided it was about time to start embracing one of my favorite things about my spring wardrobe…flowers! When you think spring you most likely think florals…and in my case neon! I love this look because it is fun, casual and it is the perfect weekend outfit.

This shirt is an oldie but a goodie, scored on clearance at Abercrombie a year ago and to freshen it up I added a white quilted vest from Old Navy. Pair it with some skinny jeans, Steve Madden cognac wedges and a bright neon bag and your ready to take spring head on 😉

I always like to dress in a way that’s fun, easy and flirty…a look almost every fashionista can pull off! Plus, one of the best parts about spring is being able to wear color and brighten up everyone’s day with a little neon. On a side note, I’m super happy it’s Friday, TGIF! I am so ready for a relaxing weekend of boot camp classes, spinning classes (wish me luck it’ll be my first time!) and some blog photos! Hopefully the weather holds up so I can do some more spring outfit posts without totally freezing my butt off! Wish me luck 🙂

    From Work To Play!

    20140312-095523.jpg

Finally some warmer weather has hit NYC! It may not be for long, but while it’s here I want to embrace finally being able to wear a skirt without totally freezing my butt off! This outfit is a mix of old and new.

One of my favorite accessories in this outfit is my scarf. I got it on clearance at H&M I’d say a good 3-4 years ago and it felt like a blast from the past when I decided to pair it with this outfit. I love the print of the scarf because it reminds me of something Dolce and Gabbana put out a few years ago…I was going for the whole ‘Look For Less’ thing when I purchased it haha! Sometimes a unique accessory is all an outfit needs to look polished and put together!

This look can transition from day to night and from work to play. For the office, remove the leather jacket and bam cute and stylish outfit to wear to work. Add the leather jacket, and it’s the perfect outfit for Happy Hour or a Girls Night Out! To make the look cute, sexy and professional I added these fabulous Anne Klein pumps I scored at Burlington Coat Factory for a whopping $20…yes this was a steal I was beyond thrilled about!

I love this look because it’s easy and flattering…who doesn’t love showing some leg and even better who doesn’t feel like a total bad ass rocking a leather jacket?! I sure do 😉

    SJP for Nordstrom Collection

    20140304-100426.jpg

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of visiting the limited edition Sarah Jessica Parker for Nordstrom pop-up shop in Soho! Safe to say this was the highlight of my weekend and pretty much my life, my little sister and I waited on live for 2 hours to meet Carrie Bradshaw herself and check out her exclusive Nordstrom collaboration in person!

So like many other girls out there, I aspire to be Carrie Bradshaw…stylish, independent, writing for Vogue with a killer Manhattan apartment and closet…although that may not be my current reality, something Carrie and I have in common is our love for footwear, which I shared with SJP when I finally got to speak to her and told her about how I work in the footwear industry in Manhattan and how my friends and family call me the modern day ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ (I could only hope 😉 )! I even spotted the legendary Andre Leon Talley while waiting on line to get in…fashion heaven!

Her line for Nordstrom isn’t just shoes, there’s jackets and bags all suiting for the gal on the go who loves to twirl in a tulle skirt or wear a pair of metallic heels with ripped boyfriend jeans…the possibilities are simply endless! I personally purchased the ‘Bobbie‘ in coral which is perfect for spring into summer for work or play. Now don’t get me wrong, while I love the collection, the price tag is a little steep for a fashionista on a budget like myself. Her shoes are being created in Italy by George Malkemus aka Mr. Manolo Blahnik (He is President of the company)! Talk about a winning combination…SJP put Manolo on the map during her ‘Sex and the City‘ days! Does ‘Hello Lover‘ ring a bell? 🙂

Sarah Jessica herself was a total sweet heart. She took photos with my sister and I and even chatted with us for a few minutes…best few minutes of my life! Safe to say Carrie didn’t disappoint and I will continue to dream of being proposed to with satin blue Manolo Blahnik’s in a custom built walk in closet on the penthouse level of an New York City building…I tend to dream big!

    My Vegas Trip Photo Diary!

    20140226-105719.jpg

So as any of you who follow my Instagram may know, last week I went on my first ever trip to Las Vegas! First of all, it was my first time on an airplane since I was 5 so when I got to the airport not wearing socks and not thinking to weigh my luggage ahead of time, I was in for a few surprises haha!

I went to Vegas for work and not play unfortunately, the FFANY gals were there to work on our charity venture QVC Presents FFANY ‘Shoes On Sale’ by meeting new contacts and soliciting for donations! May I just say everything in Vegas is over the top and huge including the trade shows, you can walk forever in the different halls.

We even got to visit the Zappos headquarters…must say it was pretty awesome to see how they revolutionized downtown Las Vegas…all thanks to shoes and some other amazing items!

Naturally my favorite part of the trip was the weather. Palm trees everywhere, sunny skies and an opportunity for me to wear dresses and sandals! 🙂 It was quite the escape from the bitter polar vortex in NYC! We stayed at the Bellagio, which made for tons of photos. Whether it was the botanical garden, the lovely shops or the fountains and pools, I was snapping pictures everywhere!

Of course it wouldn’t have been a proper trip to Vegas without bringing home a little souvenier. While I left the snowglobes, pens and hats for my little sister, I opted to bring home a little something special…a new Tiffany and Co. bracelet I’ve been lusting after for a while. You can shop it –> HERE.

In my mind, the best gifts are the ones you give yourself… 😉
