     🌴DISNEY AULANI REVIEW  🌴

Finally ya’ll I have a second to sit down + recap my amazing trip to Disney Aulani Resort & Spa! ICYMI – Mike + I headed to Aulani at the beginning of February to celebrate my birthday, our anniversary and then…he PROPOSED! Yay! Our full engagement story is already live on the blog HERE so this post is all about our experience at Aulani, what to do, what to explore, where to eat + MORE!

Let me first start by saying our trip to Disney Aulani was one of the BEST trips we’ve ever been on (and it’s not just because we got engaged there hehe :p) We both had never to anywhere tropical for a vacation so we may be slightly biased in saying Hawaii itself is stunning + magical but hey I’m saying it haha From the moment we landed at the airport we could sense we landed in paradise.laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits, laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

Where to start…let’s kick it off with the rooms + overall look + feel of the resort!

    The Room

We splurged and got an ocean view room + it was definitely worth the extra spend. Our view was looking out towards the ocean and then over the resort where you can see the pools, lazy river + more. If you want 100% only ocean view that is a major splurge and reserved just for 3 bed suites I believe and can cost a lot but if you are a big family traveling that may be a great option for you.

Our room had two queen beds, patio, gorgeous bathroom and plenty of closet and storage space. While you spend most of your time out and around the resort I loved the room to rest my head at night + housekeeping made it every bit magical with chocolates, flowers to put in your hair, a Lei upon arrival + more! laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits, laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

    The Beach

One of the things I loved most about Disney Aulani is their gorgeous private beach…you can go out to the beach, watch the sunrise and sunset, do yoga on the beach, parasail, play games + so much more. It’s only open to resort guests and it is absolutely stunning, I’ve never seen such clear ocean and beautiful sand. You can go to the beach anytime you want and there are lounge chairs, umbrellas, etc. There’s a snack stand down by the beach and you can bring food and drink down to the beach as well! (on the beach is where Mike proposed to me at sunset on my birthday hehe :p)laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits, laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

The Pools, Slides + Resort Activities

This trip was very different from our normal vacations which are usually to Disney World racing to the theme parks to get on the most rides as possible. This trip was all about rest + relaxation! There are multiple pools and jacuzzi’s on property, some for families + there are a few adult only ones as well so don’t worry even if you travel to Aulani without kids there are plenty of places to go that are relaxing and quiet away from child friendly areas.

Aulani has two fun water slides, one you go down with a raft and the other one you go down on your own. Both are super fun and there aren’t any lines like when you go to a water park which is a total plus! I love all the pools and my favorite is the lazy river, grab a raft and just go around all day, it’s heaven!

Everyday there are fun activities you can participate in around the resort whether at the kids club like make your own Minnie Ears or view the stars on the beach or snorkel in the rainbow reef…the options are endless. They are outside your normal resort rate but there are other ones you can join like the night time Luau or fireside story time or musical performances, there’s a ton to experience around the resort for kids + adults.

    THE FOOD

One of my favorite parts of Aulani is all the amazing food. The resort has plenty of quick serve dining options along with sit down character dining options fun for families! For my birthday we headed to character dinner at Makahiki where they had traditional American dishes like Mickey shaped desserts, mac & cheese etc but they also had traditional Hawaiin dishes which were awesome to try. If you are interested in character breakfast or dinner at Makahiki I recommend booking ahead of time by calling the resort since reservations fill up fast.

Around the resort there were a bunch of quick serve snack stops that had sushi, American food, BBQ + more and plenty of bars and refreshing treats. One of my favorites what the snow cone shop next to the water slides where you can pick multiple flavors and even get a Mickey shaped snow cone….gotta do it for the gram! laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits, laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

    The Merch

As with every Disney destination, Aulani has some amazing merch! If you are anything like me you are a huge fan of ears, Loungefly backpacks, Spirit Jerseys + Pandora charms so what is awesome about Aulani is that they have so many EXCLUSIVE merch items you can only get at the resort so you know I stocked up! I love their ears because they are Hawaii themed with Plumeria flowers and tropical colors like coral + purple. They have Loungefly backpacks with palm print designs, Pandora charms with Minnie on vacation + so much more. Definitely save up to grab some Aulani exclusive merch while you visit – you won’t regret it.laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits, laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

    THE SPA

OK, this was my FAVORITE part of Aulani…the Laniwai Spa! I have been to a TON of spas at the various Disney Resorts in California + Florida + even Disney Cruiseline, but hands down my favorite spa is the Laniwai Spa at Aulani. The spa itself is STUNNING. The relaxation room filled with yummy snacks is pure bliss, the staff is beyond sweet, the amenities are to die for + the services are top notch. The spa was hands down the best part of the trip besides getting engaged of course. I loved it so much I went back a few times throughout the trip to get services. I got a pedicure, body treatment, facial + massage…they were all equally worth the price tag. I am going to say be prepared and save up as this is the most expensive Disney spa I’ve ever been to and they don’t offer any discounts (I am a Disney Visa card holder so at Disney World or Disney Cruiseline spas I get a discount but not at Aulani).

The price is probably a little more of a splurge because of the amenities the spa has exclusive to spa guests who are getting a service. From 8am-8pm you can take advantage of their multiple jacuzzi’s + pools in a hidden oasis, saunas, rainforest showers, multiple bath salt stations + more! laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

    The Characters

It wouldn’t be a Disney trip without seeing some of my favorite pals and Aulani has so many fun spots to meet your favorite characters. You can meet your pals at Character Dining options I talked about in the food section but also you can see them throughout the resort at certain locations + times each day.

It’s important to note locations + times you can meet the characters changes day to day so you have to call a number the front desk gives you on the activities sheet each morning and jot down where each character will be and when – also note they switch out the characters so one day you may be able to see Stitch and the next day maybe there will be Goofy. Usually you have a chance to see everyone during your trip + I love their Aulani themed outfits! laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits, laniwai spa, laniwai spa review, aulani spa review, character dining aulani, disney proposal, disney wedding, disney birthday, disney engagement, superdown, revolve, hawaii trip guide, aulani trip guide, missyonmadison, disney aulani, disney aulani review, missyonmadison blog, la blogger, missyonmadison instagram, fashion blogger, travel blogger, hawaii, hawaii spots, hawaii photo inspo, vanessa hicks photography, my hawaii trip, hawaii outfits,

If you are contemplating a trip to Aulani I say 100% go for it! You will have the best time + love every second of it!

    ✨ Ready to PARTY ✨

Christmas is just 2 days away + that means NYE is around the corner! While we aren’t going out or partying hard, we are going to ring in the new year in style at home with family + friends which is excuse enough for me to dress up and stand out with a little sparkle + shine….so where is a gal to go to find the best pieces to show up to the NYE party in style? REVOLVE of course!

I shot two different NYE looks both from REVOLVE

First up is this chic House Of Harlow outfit! I am OBSESSED with this off the shoulder dress that is gold with silver star print. It is lightweight, flattering + is perfect for a night out. I paired it with a simple white Gucci belt – I highly recommend investing in some Gucci Belts as they really elevate any look – I got them in every color because I love them so much!

These metallic gold shoes are also from House Of Harlow + I LOVE them! They are super comfortable and also come in different colors. I love these to style with jeans and a sweater well past NYE as well!

I jumped on the ‘micro‘ bag trend (sorry not sorry) + while I saw tons of cute styles out there I fell in LOVE with this Tory Burch style because it reminded me of a mini Birkin Bag (forever dreaming of Hermes so this is my next best option till I score one!) It comes in a variety of colors so you can rock the micro trend with any look!

    Now for Look 2…

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pumps || Lovers + Friends Wrap Dress || White Chanel Bag

This silver metallic sparkle dress is from Lovers + Friends via REVOLVE. I love the wrap style and tie waist…it’s super flattering and comfortable + is so girly + fun for any NYE party. It’s great for a night out or even a night in for a party with friends + family.

I styled this dress with a classic White Chanel Bag – perfect winter accessory + my new Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pumps. I have been eyeing up these Manolo pumps ever since I Mr. Big proposed to Carrie with them in the Sex and The City movie. They have been my dream shoe + when I was able to score them 25% off during Friends + Family at Neiman Marcus I almost died…my inner Carrie is coming to life!

Are ya’ll ready to ring in the New Year in style?!

2020 is going to be another stylish year ahead!

    Frozen in NYC…

Blue Tulle Skirt | Pink Chanel Bag | White Top | White Gucci Belt | Raybans | White Pumps | Lovers + Friends Pink Suede Moto Jacket

☃️ Do you want to build a snowman? ☃️

Ya’ll I am totally OBSESSED with Frozen 2! It was so good + made me feel like a kid again just like my overall love of Disney typically does. While I wish I could be Queen Elsa I unfortunately don’t possess any amazing powers making me enchanted BUT I can dress like Queen Elsa which is exactly who this outfit would be perfect for!

I shot this dreamy look on the Brooklyn Bridge back in October + when I was going through my library and spotted it I instantly thought ‘FROZEN‘! This blue tulle skirt was one of my favorite Amazon finds as of late because of the dreamy detail + fairytale esq style…truly suited for a princess or queen.

I love wearing tulle skirts year round but especially around the holiday season now because of it’s fun, flirty + magical aesthetic. Pairing tulle skirts with the right pieces is key. This look is super dreamy so I paired it with a simple white top, white Gucci belt + light pink suede moto jacket. I love styling tulle skirts with moto jackets to add a slightly edgy feel but this Lovers + Friends moto jacket from REVOLVE is my current obsession because of it’s light pink style with suede material.

My Disney Style always has a hint of designer incorporated in it so I wore this gorgeous Pink Chanel Bag via Bag Borrow or Steal. Bag Borrow or Steal is becoming one of my favorite places to score the best deals of designer handbags and you can even loan out pieces you want to wear for a month at a time without the price tag of buying a designer bag brand new for keeps.

Have you seen Frozen 2 yet?!

Majorelle Polka Dot Sweater | Black Skater Skirt | Red Pumps | Red Gucci Bag

♥ Fall in Central Park…there’s nothing quite like it. The crisp fall air, the changing of leaves, the fall fashion…I just love it all! So naturally when I was in NYC just a few weeks ago I had to head to Central Park and embrace the changing seasons.

There’s something romantic and magical about Central Park in the fall and I was soaking up every minute of it!

When I shot this look it was cool in the morning + warmer in the afternoon so this look worked out perfectly since it was warm on top + cool on the bottom!

I love polka dots year round, they are fun, stylish + can be chic as can be when styled the right way like I did here. The sweater I am wearing here is from Majorelle via REVOLVE. I love Majorelle because of the feminine style of their pieces and this sweater is no exception. This sweater is so cozy and to dress it up for a NYC fall I paired it with this black skater skirt.

To add a bright ‘Pop Of Color‘ I paired this look with red suede pumps + my red Gucci bag. I love adding pops of color to any look, especially in the fall + winter with neutral tones to make the look bold for any occasion. I find red to be such a classic color that is great to match with anything so I love anytime I can add new red pieces to my wardrobe like these.

    Pretty Pink Hues in Soho…

REVOLVE Lovers + Friends Pink Dress | Black Patent Leather Pumps | Pearl Gucci Belt | Raybans | Pink Chanel Top Handle Bag

        💕 Pretty In Pink  💕

Ya’ll I am so excited to be back in LA after a hectic week in NYC! While I love the Big Apple, I was so busy I didn’t even have a moment to rest, blog or handle just about anything other than the tasks at hand so being back home is a great feeling BUT while I was in NYC I did shoot some amazing content including this pretty in pink look from REVOLVE!

As you know, I love a good Pop Of Color so when I spotted this Lovers + Friends Dress from REVOLVE I instantly fell in love with it + knew I needed to have it! I headed down to SOHO + while I didn’t do a lot of shopping I did do a lot of photo taking haha The bright design of the dress paired perfectly with the chic cobblestone streets of SOHO.

I pulled the look together with my go-to Gucci Pearl belt, black pumps + pink Chanel Top Handle Bag (one of my newest obsessions)!

I love the color pink, it just brightens up an entire look, makes me smile + most importantly makes me feel good. Life’s too short to not embrace + love who you are, what you are wearing + how you are feeling. This past shoot in NYC made me fall in love with the city again + also made me reminisce on how far I’ve come from the young gal attending college + interning in NYC.

It’s always good to see where you came from to help you envision where you are going!
