I am a little behind with blogging after being swamped with event planning + work but here I am prepping for Coachella with one of my boho chic dresses paired with the cutest mini bag that is perfect to wear to any festival! Although I am not one to attend the actual festival (I am more of a party + hang by the pool gal), I always like to dress the part – I mean who doesn’t love an easy boho chic look? 😉
I love a great fit + flare dress, especially a fun printed dress like this one that is great to wear year round (not just for Coachella). The flared sleeves are an added bonus, I am all about a fun sleeve now-a-days!
I usually style one of these dresses with a lace bandeau underneath for added comfort + a little lace detail if needed (especially if it is a deep v neck cut).
This Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.B. tote is great for festival season since it fits all your essentials, is comfy to style + carry + matches with everything (especially when you style it with a metallic hue like this one)!
When it comes to shoes, I opted for a cute tan chunky heel bootie with peep toes. Perfect way to show off your new pedi but also keep your feet from getting dirty at the festival in flip flops or sandals (plus the chunky heel makes them very comfortable).
Another busy week is in full swing – naturally I am bracing myself by relaxing and watching Vanderpump Rules…my secret (well now not so secret) addiction :p Sometimes when things get hectic, it’s important to take a deep breath, take a moment + take care of yourself (one of my goals / things I have learned since turning 25 last month…#HelloMarch)! Anyways…one of the things that always makes me happy is sharing some new outfits with you all and today’s look is no exception.
I headed to shoot this look at the ever so famous ‘Pink Wall‘ (which has become a well known phrase across the country BTW…I use the term ‘pink wall’ when referring to an insta-worthy spot for marketing initiatives haha). Usually there is a line and a wait to shoot in front of this famous wall on Melrose (in fact…there are now signs + security trying to stop people from shooting in front of it period during the day).
I decided to shoot a little chambray number that is perfect for winter into spring in LA!
These tan peep toe booties are a staple for spring (that will also last ya till the fall). They are comfortable because of the chunky heel and they match with absolutely everything!! That’s why I love neutral colors.
Nothing says I am ready for date night quite like a LBD ♥ Although I am currently single, one of the only things I enjoy about dating is being able to get dressed up for a nice night out. Whether it is dinner at the newest LA hotspot or heading to a comedy show or concert, I tend to dress for success haha :p What can I say, I am a girly girl through and through 😉
Wearing a Little Black Dress has been my go to for every special occasion (big or small) since it is just timeless + classic. You can never go wrong with a great LBD and then just add a blazer, a moto or denim jacket or a cardigan to dress the look up or down – one key piece with the ability to be styled multiple ways…what gets better than that?
I actually found this floral cardigan for only $10 at Burlington (it’s Philosophy and I was pretty stunned / thrilled when I found i on the clearance rack). When you aren’t sure of where your date may be or even if you will be heading out after work, I like to layer a cardigan with a little black dress so the ensemble is classy but not overly dressy and leaves a little room for a casual feel as well (just pick shoes to best match your mood of course :p).
This pairing is somewhat in between ‘dressy‘ and ‘casual‘ making it a great look to replicate with just a few signature pieces you will want to mix + match within your wardrobe for the rest of 2017!
The lighting is a little off in these shots because I made the mistake of venturing out to shoot during the day…bad idea haha Now I know why although it is a pain in the you know what, it is well worth it to wake up at 5am to shoot first thing in the morning before the sun is too bright 😉 #TheStruggleIsReal If you ever thought blogging was a walk in the park, let me be the first to tell ya…it’s not :p
Despite the lighting, the look itself is on point…
I can’t honestly remember where I purchased this dress but I found a few similar options below along with two cardigan options since mine was a stroke of luck clearance find that I haven’t been able to track down online anywhere else.
All options are budget friendly at under $50!
I kept my shoes + bag classic black and simple as well – you can never go wrong with the basics 😉
Happy Weekend! With the holidays quickly approaching, it’s time for a gift guide that rounds up great picks for your gal pals, family or colleagues! I discovered Orchard Mile that sells all of your favorite designer goodies…from candles to coffee books to techaccessories to clothing + jewelry…no matter what gift you are searching to give this holiday season, Orchard Mile has got you covered!
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is being able to give the perfect gifts to the ones you love. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find the right gift and heading to a department store can be a bit overwhelming with the all of the various options. What is a gal to do? Head to a site that has a curated collection of designers + pieces that are ideal for gifting of course!
Orchard Mile has all of my favorite designers + great products that are trendy as well as great quality and are just what your loved ones will adore. One of my favorite sections of gifts they sell are books. I have been on the hunt for great coffee table books (for my own place) for a while now + I know all of my girlfriends and even family love a great book as well! Also, candles + diffusers with great scents always make for a great gift + Orchard Mile has you fully stocked on the best fragrances of the season ♥
I got those Monday B L U E S…you know that feeling when you want to just crawl back into bed + extend the weekend 😉 Well…I have that feeling BUT I also am translating ‘Monday Blues‘ into an excuse to wear blue this fall hehe ♥ As you all may know, I LOVE myself a good ‘Pop Of Color‘ so when my new instagram bestie Addison MacKenzie Boutique sent me this gorgeous cobalt blue tunic (which I in turn made into a dress haha) I fell in L O V E!
I wore this number to College Fashion Week this past weekend (see my full recap here) + I really love it — ok I probably say that to a bunch of my outfits, but this one is totally different…I mean I perfectly matched in cobalt blue from head to toe! haha
This cobalt blue tunic (although I styled it as a dress here) can be styled over jeans or leggings as a normal tunic to wear year round. How great is that? One piece that can be styled countless ways for year round wear! Amazing if you ask me 😉 Addison MacKenzie Boutique has such cute dresses, tops + sweaters…they are perfect to dress up or down for work or play + what I like most is that all of the clothes are normal sizes…meaning that fit true to size + aren’t just for skinny minis (sometimes online boutiques show pieces that look like they fit one way + when they arrive they fit another…but Addison MacKenzie’s pieces run true to size! No secrets here).
I layered a black moto jacket over the dress for a ‘night out’ look…plus I like the leather + lace contrast with the detailing on the tunic 🙂
Because I love to match + since I love color so much…it only made sense I match my blue dress to some blue suede shoes 😉 I can’t get enough of the cobalt blue pumps because they are a great way to incorporate color into your everyday look without it being too overwhelming. These pumps are ideal for work with dress pants or a skirt etc. They are a stylish little touch that will make any look be chic!
My delicate bracelets are from the jewelry brand called Jules Smith. I discovered them about a month ago + have become a huge fan since they are easy for layering + look chic (even at an affordable price tag)!
Check out their pieces + you can get 20% off with promo code – MISSYONMADISON (now that’s a steal)
