And I have a case of the Mondays…so obv some blue hues are in order 😉 Also in order…a perfect wardrobe essential for the spring season…a chic beige trench coat! This was my go-to when I was in NYC. Even with the strange weather change (one day it’s hot…the next day it’s cold) it’s a great transition piece. LA is similar…while it’s usually always sunny and warm, some days it gets chilly and a light coat is in order…here is my number one pick (and it’s on sale)!
This look was shot at The Getty…although this look reminds me of my Manhattan days, I figured why not bring some workwear NYC style to LA (hey casual LA gals…getting dressy is totally ok every now and then :p).
It’s starting to feel a lot like S P R I N G! And I couldn’t be happier! Spring has always been my favorite season (whether in NY or LA) because it starts warming up so I can wear all of my favorite dresses, skirts + sandals while also not sweating in a heat wave like I do over the summer haha!
To kick off my first of many spring style posts, I teamed up with Burlington…aka the premier destination to score chic finds for less (just up my alley right?!) Burlington has up to 65% off department store prices every day! So I was beyond excited when they gave me the challenge of putting a head-to-toe spring look together for under $50…challenge accepted and challenge completed 😉
I scored both my black + white striped shift dress from Burlington as well as my nude lace up heels! Two ‘on trend’ pieces for spring that can be transitioned from work to play and beyond. What I love about a classic shift dress is that it is an easy outfit choice in the morning…just slip it on and you are ready to head out the door! Nothing beats that (especially for a gal like me who is always running late in the morning — hey Starbucks is always a priority what can I say :p)
This dress in particular I love because A) It’s only $7.99 on BurlingtonStores.com (YES it is in fact $7.99 for this gorgeous dress…how crazy is that?!) It’s the perfect piece to add to your spring rotation and I dressed it up for spring with some bright accessories!
My other Burlington find were these nude lace up sandals (similar to the ones I found in store). I mean they are great for the office, girl’s night, date night etc. Nude matches with everything, they are super comfortable and I can’t get over how great they fit (normally I struggle with heels if the arch is too high or if they are too narrow or too wide etc. Not these beauties…they are picture perfect!)
These heels cost only $17.99! How great is that? Head-To-Toe outfit completed! Bam!
I always like to add color to all of my looks, especially for spring, so I added a few of my own accessories to the look. For some neon I added my own satchel + for a P O P of blue I added one of my favorite necklaces in Cobalt and of course my mirrored aviators (a spring / summer / year roundessential for everyone…just sayin’).
And Voila!A head-to-toe spring look that’s on trend and doesn’t break the bank…easy as 1,2,3 and it’s all thanks to Burlington! Burlington has up to 65% off department store prices every day!
Allergy Season is in full swing here in L A. I have been sneezing, coughing and blowing my nose the past few days and have basically felt like death (ok, I may be slightly overdramatic haha but I am the worst sick patient). Feeling icky makes me just want to curl up into a ball in my bed and feel cozy…since work and being an adult gets in the way of that, the next best thing is cozying up in an oversized sweater + boots!
Fun Fact — this look was shot back on Long Island before I moved to La La Land! (pretty obvious since I don’t think I’ve worn pieces this warm since moving to LA haha — I am always hot). That’s why this eyelet sweater (similar) is perfect…warm but also cool allowing for air flow haha! What could be better :p
My jeans are from Vigoss and are one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans I own AND they are affordable and great quality! I discovered Vigoss during a NYFW event a couple of years ago and have been obsessed with them ever since.
I really have a thing for mirrored aviators if you couldn’t already tell :p While I typically wear my blue Ray Bans I decided to switch things up with these yellow ones.
My boots are from NYLA (no longer available) so I linked to some similar options below. My cognac bucket bag I think was from Old Navy (it’s bad when you can’t even remember exactly where you got something haha) but I LOVE this one from Sole Society here.
I haven’t worn this Michael Kors watch in forever, but coming across this photo makes me want to start wearing it again asap!
Now if only I could get over these allergies…then this cozy look would make me feel even better!
All Wrapped Up…kinda like a Christmas present right? 😉 What can I say…I am the gift that keeps on giving haha (jk that’s just what my family says about me when I drive them all crazy…only a few days away from heading to NY to see them + Charlie — literally can’t wait to cuddle with him for an entire week!) Anyways, back to the whole ‘wrap‘ idea…I was never one for wrap dresses (although I do love DVF, wrap dresses being her signature) but after slipping into this one (similar)…I have officially fallen in love!
On a side note, I realized I keep doing the same pose every time I shoot new outfits (#oops)…Maybe it’s just my ‘natural’ instinct to play with my hair, I don’t know, but maybe this can be one of my New Year’s Resolutions…switch up poses when shooting blog pictures 😉 Totally normal right? Haha
Another New Year’s Resolution? Wear more Wrap Dresses! Duh! Here are a few of my favorites:
Monday Vibes call for some Navy Hues 😉 Being in LA, fall doesn’t limit what I can and can’t wear — meaning…dresses like this Navy Blue Shirt Dress are perfect to be worn year round (and I won’t freeze)! Yay! Floppy hats, booties + fall colored bags are my current go-to’s <3LA is very casual…outfits usually follow the ‘less is more‘ moto and it’s all about accessories. A simple navy blue dress like this paired with a tan floppy hat, some chic shades and a statement necklace (like this acrylic monogram one from Baublebar). This monogram necklace makes for a perfect holiday gift by the way 😉 Along with these Ray Bans.
