We are at the halfway mark…it is Wednesday and the weekend can’t come soon enough. I’m not sure if it’s the weather or if I have just been completely overwhelmed lately, but I have been so exhausted to the point where I find myself half asleep when attempting to blog (sorry if I begin rambling and not making any sense :p) When organizing my iPhoto library (one of the many things on my to-do list) I came across this look shot pre-winter snow and forgot how much I LOVE a black floppy hat.
In the spirit of Coachella this weekend, I definitely plan on incorporating this hat into future spring looks…because this is my mild version of a flower crown haha :p Speaking of Coachella, I really wish I was going to be there this weekend, but no…I get to stay here in rainy NYC #SoNotFair
It’s the calm before the storm…literally…A huge snow storm is heading our way and I am so not thrilled about it (why couldn’t I be in Disneyalready…only a few more days till I’m in the ‘Happiest Place On Earth’ woohoo) anyway…back to the issue at hand…this horrible snow storm. A) Not digging 2-3 feet of snowB) My commute to work will be hell…the LIRR never functions the second there is a hint of bad weather…it’s my daily torture (yes, it’s that bad).
Ok, let me stop ranting about how much I am dreading this storm and let’s distract ourselves with today’s outfit details (outfit inspo always makes everything better…no?) 😉
So yes…today’s look was shot back in October…maybe September…definitely in warmer weather when there was leaves falling from the trees and a crisp breeze in the air. I’ve had a thing for Olive Green this season…especially Camo prints and puffer vests so it was a no brainer that these two pieces would go hand in hand…toned down with a gray cable knit sweater (all pieces are on sale now btw!)
Now to break down the shoe + bag game…
I have had these taupe suede booties for years now…they are super comfortable, match with everything and add that like extra ‘oomph’ every winter look needs. My bag has been seen on the blog a few times over the past few weeks (If you missed it see it here + here). I LOVE this Kelsi Dagger leopard satchel…it was a great Last Call Neiman Marcus find (two similar Kelsi Dagger styles here+ here).
I love all of the color hues in this look…we have taupe, gray, olive green and now…a touch of brown with this Caravelle NY Watch (I love it so much I want it in another color now). I have become quite the fan of leather wrap watches like this one…especially when it’s thin and easy to mix and match with any bling!
On a side note, I will be sharing my packing guide for Disney on the blog soon (you know…once I start packing of course…I’m kinda last minute and pack everything including the kitchen sink…oops #HelpMePack #MustBringEverything) P.S. You can follow my Florida vacation on instagram @MissyOnMadison!
And….this will be me all day today and tomorrow…getting snuggly and warm during the snow storm…supposedly it’s bound to be the worst NY has had in years…great 😉 Also, I switched up my site a little bit with changing my slider…thoughts?
Happy Wednesday Loves! Usually the holiday season makes us think of glitz and glam…now don’t get me wrong, I love some sparkle just like the next gal but sometimes when you are around close family or friends all you need to wear for the holidays is a classic sweater…a cable knit sweater! Sorry but I never really got into the whole ‘ugly sweater‘ deal for the holiday season…I opt for a more trendy yet timeless sweater…the cable knit sweater. I scored this one at Old Navy and I wear it all the time…whether it is dressed up or dressed down, a cable knit sweater is an essential for every gal no matter what age. Because I hate wearing pants…yes I said it…I hate pants haha I paired this cable knit sweater with a maroon skater skirt (which can be worn year round, not just for the holiday season).I dressed the look up a bit with my black suede knee high boots which I constantly get asked where they are from…well the answer is H&M…2 years ago so unfortunately they are no longer there but I found similar ones on sale now for under $100 at Lord & Taylor here. And I am bringing leopard back this holiday season with this Betsey Johnson bag (similar style from Ralph Lauren here). I love wearing little hints of leopard from time to time…especially when the hues match so perfectly like they do in this ensemble. It wouldn’t be a true street style look without some killer sunnies…I never knew J Crew had such great sunglasses but I fell in love with these beauties the second I spotted them in store + on sale (the word sale always helps determine a good buy haha)! This is one of my favorite looks so far this month…it’s cute, simple and also kind of sexy by adding the knee high boots 😉 So you can wear this around the fam and also out for date night…win/win!| Click To Shop This Look |
