    Anna & Karl…

soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpEver since I was 8 years old I had an unhealthy obsession with fashion…specifically Vogue and the lady behind it…Anna Wintour. The ‘Devil’ in Prada has been my idol for years. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always had the same response, ‘I want to be the editor of Vogue and take Anna’s place one day’…and if someone didn’t know who Anna Wintour was, I knew we wouldn’t be able to mesh well lol…Sorry Not Sorry :p Karl has also become a love of mine…the man has made driving gloves a fashion statement, who else do you know that can turn an otherwise unknown fad into a trend?soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpI felt I had to stand out and embrace the fabulous colors of this mural I spotted in Soho NYC, so it was time to bring out the hot pink Michael Kors tote that was simply a total ‘Must’ last year during Macy’s Friends & Family Sale! (I will never get sick of this Pop Of Color) soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpMirrored sunnies are also an obsession of mine…they just help increase the ‘Cool’ factor haha I say that because my little sister just bought a pair and acts like she started the trend 😉 Work it girl! soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpThis Target Kimono was a clearance score and what I love is that it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The tie dye pattern on it is a fresh look for summer and adds a little something to any look. soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpCameron Silver has become another one of my fashion idols. Ever since I saw him on the show ‘Dukes Of Melrose’ on Bravo, I knew he was another great fashion personality that was up to great things! He teamed up with Nine West back in the fall and designed these gorgeous pumps…they will forever be a staple in my closet, neon accents are always a YES! soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpsoho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpLately I’ve been reading some interesting thoughts about me and my blogging and in response I have this…in the words of one of my other idols, Eva Chen, Editor In Chief of Lucky Magazine, ‘Haters are gunna hate’…hell yea sister, embrace it and let it be the fuel to keep you going…I know that’s what keeps me doing what I do 😉 soho missyonmadison blog blogger fashion style annawintour karllagerfeld annakarlmural nyc pink michaelkorstote ninewestjacepumpShop My Look <3

    Winter White!

    20140227-100343.jpg

So it may be a so called fashion ‘faux pas’ to where white in the fall and winter seasons, but as you may know, I have a thing for breaking the rules. Neon in winter, never wearing tights, a faux fur vest in the summer…I tend to wear what I want when I want haha 😉 That’s why I was so excited to wear white jeans in the white snow!

I finally embraced the winter wonderland outside and so did my sister (my photographer) who had a little too much fun writing cute things in the snow during this shoot! I’m wearing these great fitting ‘Rockstar Jeans‘ from Old Navy, fringed Isola wedged boots (scored on sale at 6pm.com), my new GiGi NY hot pink clutch with my initials, an easy chiffon blouse from Old Navy and some C. Wonder and Nordstrom bling…topped off with Urban Outfitters sunnies!

I love this look because it is great for work or play and it is simple and easy. I also love the black and white look with a pop of pink…I love a great ‘Pop Of Color‘ any chance I get! The winter season tends to get me a little down, but a cute outfit can instantly lift my mood and my attitude…snow and cold? No problem…nothing a little fashion and style can’t fix 😉

    Chic In Pink!

    20140131-113554.jpg

When I slipped into this outfit i fell in love…a flared out skirt from the Catherine Malandrino collection for Kohls, an elegant pink sweater, a chic quilted black bag and some classic black suede pumps…what more can a girl ask for to look classy, sassy and sophisticated!

I love this skirt because of the lace insert details in the pleats…even though I bought this from Kohls (on clearance I may add!) you would never be able to tell that from looking at it. That’s something I love about designer collaborations with retail giants…although the clothing and accessories are created with a lower price point in mind, they never skimp on style or quality!

In addition to swooning over this skirt, as always, I love a ‘Pop Of Color‘ (I think Brad Goreski is my fashion soul mate, bow tie and all) because even in the winter when women are seen wearing black from head to toe, I have a thing for standing out and making a statement 😉 so rocking this pink Old Navy sweater was a definite ‘Must‘!

And the best way to pull any look together, especially once you add some color, is with simple accessories…a chic black Rebecca Minkoff bag and classy black pumps! You can never go wrong with black accessories!

    Birthday Moment!

    20140203-093453.jpg

Well in case you din’t know, today is my birthday! Yes people I’m the big 22…getting so old (yea right lol!) While I don’t have some big birthday bash like Howard Stern had planned, (by the way I’m a huge Howard fan, and that Birthday Show was insane)  I am excited to spend a nice night with my boyfriend and have a great dinner followed by a serious chocolate overload because we are heading to Max Brenner in NYC!

If you haven’t heard of this place google it, I’ve passed it and dreamt of eating there and now is my chance 🙂 yay! They are known for their delicious desserts and gourmet chocolate and you know I’ll be having that as my appetizer, entree and dessert haha!

Every year on my birthday I like to reflect back on where I am this year. At this time last year I turned 21…I was a senior in college, Free Lancing for Footwear News, single and working like a maniac two part time jobs to be able to afford my 21st birthday bash I was planning. This year: I’m a college graduate, I work full time in NYC doing a job I love and I have a great boyfriend who I love spending my time with…I’d say turning 22 has brought some pretty awesome things to me.

Naturally, a birthday wouldn’t be a birthday without a cute outfit! Duh! So I’ll be wearing something similar to this look (Stay tuned for pictures from tonight’s outfit & full details on this look!) I found these Michael Kors shoes on clearance at Lord & Taylor and fell in love! Can’t wait to have my Carrie Bradshaw moment tonight in these beauties! 🙂

Which brings me to the best birthday gift I got from my parents, my own Canon camera perfect for blogging 🙂 Thanks mom and dad! Can’t wait to snap pictures all over the place! Now just to find the perfect camera bag…hmmm always thinking of things to shop for 😉

    A Splash Of Color

    20140106-102353.jpg
Nothing sucks more than a dreary, rainy day in NYC…it totally brings down your mood, puddles everywhere and usually an excuse to dress cozy and warm rather than fun and flirty. So in order to brighten up on this rainy day I bring you some color inspiration thanks to Karen Kane, Nine West and Hue jeggings.

Yes, you caught me, I’m not rocking this colorful ensemble today…simply for the sole fact that I think if I wore this today the ladies in my office would think I had my seasons mixed up, but still I try to always incorporate color into my everyday outfits! This outfit however I love! I spotted this adorable Karen Kane hot pink moto vest on their website and had to have it…because what girl doesn’t like sporting a little pink every now and again?!

I always try to break up the color with some darker, neutral tones, like these great olive colored jeggings from Hue. If you haven’t tried jeggings or Hue…your seriously missing out on life. They fit any figure like a glove and are reasonably priced. Best part? They come in numerous styles, textures, colors and lengths…making them literally perfect for any girl! They are great to move around in whether it’s at the office, at a club…or simply running around town on a busy day.

Another part I love about this outfit? These Nine West gray pumps with neon pick lining and sole. Something I love about all my clothes, shoes and accessories, is that they all have a little story behind them…these babies are no exception. I scored these limited edition ‘Cameron Silver for Nine West‘ pumps for FREE..yes people free, during there Rockefeller Center store re-launch. I was one of the first 9 people at the store when they opened and received a $100 Nine West gift card which of course I used to purchase hot pink shoes because seriously when else does an opportunity arise to score hot pink pumps for free? Uhh never! Also, Cameron, the designer is incredibly social on social media…making me love him even more every time I wear and post his fabulous shoes!

Anyways, I’m off to another busy day at the FFANY office! Don’t let the rain get ya down and shop my ‘Splash Of Color’ look below 🙂
