But First…Coffee

But first…~~coffee~~ (~~scratch~~ that…to be quite honest I start each and every day with a Venti iced green tea from Starbucks…unsweetened of course…typical white girl…~~oops~~) but I mean coffee as in ‘Coffee Shop‘, the great brand who makes this stylish leopard coat I am wearing today! This past week has been the true beginning of winter weather. Snow on the ground, a chill in the air and wind that practically swept me right off my feet…this weather calls for a warm, cozy and fashionable coat…in comes Coffee Shop.

This brand reached out to me right before the Holiday Season and I couldn’t wait to work with them. They make everything from Moto Jackets, to Pea Coats, to Wool Coats and Bomber Jackets…they are now my one stop shop for unique and trendy coats that won’t break the bank (which is always in style in my book!)

So while I am not a fan of the cold temperatures I must admitt it was kinda fun to have a little white snow on the ground while shooting looks over the weekend. And yes…I was freezing while shooting each and every outfit…at one point my poor brother’s hands turned pink from holding the camera out in the cold…but nonetheless new outfits were shot, and Missy is still able to share her stylish journey…no matter what the weather outside may be!| Click To Shop My Look |

White Whimsy…

Happy Monday Lovers! I’m bringing a little warmth back to the blog with this whimsical white pleated dress that I loved all summer long except I had to somewhat make it transition to the colder fall and winter months…my solution? A motorcycle jacket of course 😉 And yes to answer your question, I was freezing when shooting this over the weekend…but how does the old saying go? Pain is beauty…in this case toughing out the cold NY weather is the cost to look halfway decent on the blog haha I love all things girly girl and in case this look didn’t scream ‘girly‘, I will reassure you that not every girl loves pleated dresses but It’s an essential for every fashionista to have in their closet. Whether it’s a pleated skirt or even a dress like the one I’m wearing, it’s a timeless piece that will never go out of style and that’s something I can always get behind. I honestly can’t remember where I got this dress but I found two similar options here + here. To make the look a little edgier, I layered a black motorcycle jacket over it which A) kept me semi warm while shooting + B) Made the look a little less ‘frilly’ and ‘girly’ than it has typically looked previously. I found a motorcycle jacket I LOVE from Piperlime and it retails for under $50 now that’s what I call a steal!Now to break down the shoe and bag game…which is always my favorite part of any look. What a girl can’t love her shoes and bags? 😉 My nude ankle strap sandals have been a favorite of mine to wear on the blog for a while now because A) Nude shoes make you look taller and for a 5’3 shortie like me, I could use all the height I could get to pretend to be a model haha! + B) They match with EVERYTHING! They are available for under $50 at 6pm.com here.My bag was a TJ Maxx clearance find but I found a similar one from Nordstrom except in a different shade. I can never get enough of the design of the Rebecca Minkoff Affair Bag and this mini one is no excpetion…plus it came in the girliest of colors…pink! What else can a gal ask for?!I also opted to rock some sunnies once again and instead of going to my favorite mirrored aviators, I switched things up with black ones here.On a side note I became obsessed with a new song over the weekend which I am currently listening to while writing this post. It’s called ‘Say Something’ from Karen Harding and all I want to do is basically dance my a** off every time I hear it (sorry mom but yea I curse…even on the blog). Happy Friday Lovers! Today I’m ‘Back Packing’ and I am not talking about through Europe…I’m referring to this fabulous suede back pack from Last Call Neiman Marcus. After leaving elementary school oh so many years ago, I definitely never planned on rocking the one strap back pack again in this life time…and yes the only wear to rock a back pack is with the one strap…who two straps anymore, for real? 😉 Well I fell in love with this little knapsack when I spotted it while shopping for shoes (I always get distracted while shopping…oops…typical girl problem). Back to my first topic…back packing through Europe…while I love to travel and hopefully I will get to do more of it in the years to come (can you say New Years Resolution anyone?) One thing I am truly terrified about is back packing through Europe…I suppose I’ve seen one too many horror flicks and am convinced that I would get into some tragic mess if I actually conquered some courage and went for it…so for now rocking a back pack is the first step haha!My top and skirt are both from BCBG at Lord & Taylor. I love the whole A-Symmetrical skirt trend for fall (even if I will be freezing in it) and why not be matchy matchy with a chic cropped top like this one. I dressed down these pieces in this post but I actually dressed them up a few weeks ago here.My baby blue faux leather moto jacket is actually from Kohls…like I tell everyone, don’t under estimate affordable fashion…anything is possible…like this amazing jacket! So like I mentioned my back pack is from Last Call Neiman Marcus and you can shop it here (on sale now!) Then to make this look real old school…some chuck taylors! The Striped Skirt…

Happy Monday Loves! I’m posting a little later than usual because my schedule has been absolutely insane due to Fashion Week. I shared my NYFW Diary Part 1 with you over the weekend and now I’m breaking down my look from my day 1 festivities which included brunches, parties and fashion shows…every fashionistas dream…minus the running around in heels all day part…my poor feet will definitely deserve a massage at the end of this! My striped skirt which so many of you liked in my last post is from Target! Yes…Target! I fell in love with it the moment I spotted it and it was a big hit amongst my blogger friends at fashion week 🙂 My black cropped top is from the J Lo collection at Kohls and is on clearance for $12…now that’s my kind of deal! My rose necklace was a last minute Nordstrom find but I found a similar one here. My black open toe booties are from Nine West and are super comfortable…I was able to last from 11:00am – 8:00pm in them…now that’s a miracle in my eyes! My black quilted bag is of course the Rebecca Minkoff Affair Bag…has room for all my Fashion Week gear including my charger, almonds, make up etc. I had a busy day yesterday which I can’t wait to share with you guys as well and I am off to a few events later today and tomorrow so make sure to stay tuned and follow @MissyOnMadison on instagram for up to the minute coverage 🙂 Shop My Look <3
