From Pearl Hair Clips to chic Headbands to retro Scrunchies…2019 is the year of fashion forward hair accessories! While my boyfriend insists I look like a child anytime I rock some barrettes or a headband in my hair, I am digging this trend + wanted to round up some of my fav styles, trends + picks with ya’ll!
Happy Monday ya’ll! My weekend was a whirl wind. I was in Palm Springs for Coachella parties and needed some serious R&R today (meaning I spent the day cooped up in bed ugh). The weekend in the desert was hot, hot, hot which resulted in me wearing my hair natural for a few days…the best products for this? Eva NYC of course! The key to rocking your natural hair is using the right products that keep it soft, moisturized + reduce frizz in all climates (like super hot palm springs). I have been using Eva Hair NYC for a while now, my signature go to is their leave in conditioner called their ‘Mane Tamer‘. After I wash my hair with the Eva NYC Clean It Up Shampoo + Eva NYC Soften Up Conditioner I brush my hair with a wet brush (perfect for gently getting out any knots in your hair) and then I run a quarter size amount of Mane Tamer to the ends of my hair to keep my hair soft and shiny as it air drys.
If you are all about great deals like me, you will want to stock up on the Eva NYC products at Costco. I tend to go through hair products quickly (especially these since I absolutely love wearing my hair natural now-a-days).

Their ‘Sun Care’ products have been great with helping me to protect + repair any damage to my hair from the harsh summer sunshine. Buy natural hair loss products from OnHealthy. They have a variety of products from sprays, to serums to masks that are all specially formulated to be used either before or after exposure to the sun! My personal favorite of the moment is the Sun Care After-Sun Hair Masque. It almost feels like a spa treatment to me hehe :p
I also love Aveda’s styling products. I keep their travel sized hairspray + dry shampoo in my purse so I can touch up throughout the day! They have been my current go-to’s to prep before appointments + meetings 🙂
Summer is almost officially here and that means finding hair products you can use when you want wear your hair natural. During the summer, I love just hoping out of the shower with wet hair and letting it air dry naturally but finding the right products is key! Great products like the styling collection from ABBA can help add to the natural curls or waves in your hair without using any heat or styling tools! That’s what I love about ABBA…natural, great smelling, non-heavy styling products that I can use all summer long without any irritants!
My favorites are their Volumizing Root Spray and Curl Prep Spray, you can use both on wet or damp hair and either leave your hair natural for the day OR you can use them prior to blow drying your hair to add some bounce and volume to your hair for Victoria’s Secret esq curls! (my favorite thing ever :p) Plus…all of my favorite ABBA products are available at my go-to store…Ulta!
Isn’t the best feeling in the world when you are having a good hair day…you know, when your hair has the perfect amount of volume, bounce + shine and is actually able to last the whole day? Yea…well thanks to Amika hair care and pro tools…that day is everyday! I am always game for trying new products, especially if they promise me fab hair in under an hour that actually lasts all day (yup then you have me sold).

Amika sent me some awesome products that I am for sure in love with (heck the Perk Up dry shampoo they sent me I already ran out of because I am that obsessed with it :p). They actually sent me the perfect after product to dry shampoo…Dry Conditioner! This is the first time I ever heard of it but I totally love it and it smells delicious (is sniffing my hair periodically throughout the day awkward? haha) These products are perfect for me because I try not to wash my hair everyday A) So it prevents my hair from getting to flat + B) Because it’s actually not good to wash your hair everyday (I learned this back when I was a receptionist at a hair salon on Long Island during my college years).
When I use dry shampoo + dry conditioner a day after washing my hair, it gives my hair a little texture, making it ideal for when I want to curl my hair…which brings me to the next amazing Amika product I tested out, the Amika Switch Kit which comes with this awesome interchangeable curling wand that you can swap out the heads for a curling iron whenever you feel like…all the parts match with the swivel base and it is super easy to put together + take apart.
It actually took me a while (and my roommate’s help) to teach me how to use a curling wand haha I have always been traditionally a curling iron kind of gal for fear of burning my fingers, but it is actually pretty easy to do and quick once you get the hang of it.
