I don’t know about you but anytime I can wear some blue it’s a good day! I love a bold blue number no matter what the occasion…so it only made sense to style an all blue ensemble for the perfect winter into spring look. It has been quite chilly in LA leaving me bundling up so this look is perfect for just that!!
This sweater is literally the coziest! It’s from Femme Luxe Finery + is under $50!
I paired it with my go to faux leather leggings (these are a total must have in my opinion) that are perfect for day time at the office or date night paired with a cute crop top etc.
Since I have been extra cold lately I had to layer a chic cobalt blue coat over this ensemble. I linked to a few of my favorites below…you can never go wrong with a little POP of blue.
A blue coat wasn’t enough blue for me so here comes some more with my shoes + bag!
Investing in some cobalt blue pumps + a cobalt blue bag are perfect for your wardrobe. I style them all the time for work with an all black outfit or during the spring with some white etc to make a colorful statement while still looking chic.
Winter in LA is a bit weird – one day it may be warm + the next day completely chilly, so what is a gal to do? Invest in a fuzzy jacket that makes a statement + makes LA feel like a winter wonderland!
Whether you are heading out for a night on the town or heading to the office, a faux fur coat is a great way to keep warm but also stylish – see more of how I styled mine below.
Embracing the new year with a hot cup o’ joe + a cozy look. It’s back to the grind + I am invigorated + ready to kick ass in 2019! I have to be honest, 2018 was pretty freaking amazing up until NYE (let’s just say I got not so great news just hours before ringing in the new year while I was in bed sick ugh) but luckily my boo, always thinking positively got me excited for a new year, a new chapter + a new me!!
I am not one for New Year’s resolutions but I do have a few:
1. Kick ass in business
2. Continue to grow the blog
3. Travel more
5. Continue to loose weight (thanks to Jenny Craig)
6. Think positive + exude happiness, as my boo likes to say…You get what you give and in 2019 I am giving all good vibes in hopes of receiving the same back!
And of course…share more of my favorite outfits, products, tips + tricks…starting with this chic winter look!
My goal for winter is to share more warm weather looks. Since I am in LA I tend to rock dresses + comfy clothes year round + I realized in order to relate to everyone else in the world, I need to go back to my NY routes + share some chilly weather ensembles.
This week has been gloomy in LA, causing me to stay cuddled up in doors and in my comfy clothes while packing up my entire apartment to move this weekend. Moving is beyond stressful, why?Because now I have begun actually sifting through my closet and separating pieces I want to bring, pieces I am going to list on Poshmark (follow my closet + sign up with code ‘MISSYONMADISON‘ for a $5 credit towards your first purchase), + pieces I am going to donate…kinda reminds me of the Sex and The City movie where Carrie is giving up her apartment to move in with Big and her and the girls dance around to Aerosmith while making their Take or Toss piles haha. Basically was me today, minus the girls BUT I am going from my own place to a new place with my boo so I feel Carrie’s struggle with attempting to downsize her wardrobe although I now have my own office with TWO walk in closets :p Every bloggers DREAM ♥
Anyways…after we are all moved in to our new place, I am looking forward to a much needed date night + with LA’s gloomy weather to kick off spring, I wanted to share one of my signature go-to looks for a night out! Whether you are heading to happy hour with friends, dinner with your boo or a late night movie, I LIVE for these Hue Leatherette Leggings because they suck you in, accentuate your curves + match with any top for any occasion.
I seriously LOVE these leggings, I have been posting about them for years (#notsponsored lol) + I never get sick of them, not to mention the quality makes them durable to last for years of wear. I have been wanting to try the whole patent liquid pants trend from this past season, but I always go back to my trustee Hue ones (what can I say, I am a creature of habit hehe :p)
For a night out I pair them with a sheer top like this one + I wear a bralette or bandeau under it to avoid showing too much skin (definitely not risque enough to do the whole ‘free the nipple‘ trend haha). It’s a great way to dress sexy but also look classy and put together if it’s a dinner date etc.
I always wanted a pair of rockstud pumps however I still can’t get myself to splurge on expensive shoes (just bags haha) so these are a look a like version and I found a similar version from Sole Society here.
For this look, my bag was the splurge item. This Gucci chain on wallet crossbody is an affordable designer bag since it is under $1,000 (see more affordable bags when you click the link) + the black leather monogram is a timeless classic that will match with all of your going out looks…plus this bag has room for all of your essentials – your makeup, keys, wallet etc!
Do you have any exciting plans this weekend?

Faux Leather + Faux Fur for the Holidays? Count me in! Whether you are heading out with friends before spending time with your family or maybe you just want to be dressed up for your family gathering, mixing faux leather + faux fur can be really chic for the holiday season. I feel like there is always a struggling when styling faux leather + faux fur because there is a fine line between classy / elevated + cheap / tacky looking haha :p I have learned over time that how you style trendy elements make all the difference, mixing high + low and not overdoing any one type of trend is crucial to a polished holiday look.
I have been a longtime fan of these HUE Leatherette Leggings…literally for years. They fit like a glove + are pretty flattering (along with being comfy) if you ask me 🙂 They can be dressed up or down…especially for the holiday season!
While I styled them here with a faux fur shawl for a chic going-out look, you can make them casual with a pair of OTK boots + an oversized sweater. Don’t you love when pieces you adore can be styled multiple ways? 😉
I love a good platform heel year round just because of the comfort factor, but what I like about this pair from De Blossom Collection even more is that fact that they embrace the color block trend in a chic way 😉 They can match with anything! #Winning
We all know the best bag to wear around the holiday season is one that will stand out + sparkle, so that means pick a bag that is as good as gold! Two of my fav options are below:
