Weekend Wishlist: My NYE Dressing Top 10…

Sequins, glitter and tons of sparkle…sounds like one of my favorite Holiday’s is right around the corner…New Year’s Eve! The shot shown above was taken yesterday during a fun NYE shoot…and let’s just say I left my mark…sequins everywhere!

Missy wish you a Merry Christmas, Missy wish you a Merry Christmas, Missy wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Merry Christmas loves! I couldn’t wait to share today’s Christmas look with you all and also share some exciting news about a Christmas gift that arrived to me a little early!First let me start by saying I hope you are all enjoying the Holiday season with your closest family and friends. I am currently sitting at home in pjs (yes we open presents in pajamas and then I beautify later or at least I try to…if I conquer up the energy to do so haha!). Usually every Christmas follows this agenda 1) Wake up and open presents 2) Have breakfast (typically my mom will make pancakes…if not cereal it is!) 3) My brother and I go to the movies (did I mention that I am half jewish and half catholic so naturally being partially jewish warrants me to go to the movies on Christmas!) and 4) Delicious feast that mama duke cooks to perfection…followed by me feeling like I am about to explode and the urge to hit the gym all at the same time haha So let me break down this festive little look which can also be worn for New Year’s…so crazy to think we are simple days away from a new year, a new you and some new adventures…2015 here I come! My bling and nails are as follows:

My Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini Mac’ in red is the perfect ‘Pop Of Color’ for the Holiday season and it is a bag I wear year round whenever I feel like standing out.My white cable knit sweater is from Old Navy and it is a MUST for every gal this season. Dress it up with a metallic skirt like I did here or dress it down with some jeans or leather leggings (PS those two combos are coming soon to the blog)…however you wear it, a white cable knit sweater will never go out of style (AND it is on sale now!)I couldn’t find the ~~exact~~ skirt I am wearing here online because it was a TJ Maxx maxxinista find 😉 But I did find some fabulous options (all on sale) here, here + here.Ok, now the moment you have all been waiting for…what was my early Christmas gift that is sure to make 2015 the best year yet? Well it wasn’t placed under my tree so it won’t be opening and instagrammed (but don’t worry my other presents will…follow along on instagram @MissyOnMadison). Starting in the new year, I will be the new social media guru for Kleinfelds Bridal…YES, I said Yes to the Dress and I Do to Kleinfelds! I am SUPER excited to embark on this new journey and I can’t wait to share my experiences with you all of course! Do you guys watch ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ or have your future wedding Pinterest boards in the works? It is something I will be on top of 24/7 with this new career and I can’t wait to drool over the gorgeous gowns, fabulous brides and of course…the rom-com stories coming to life and being shared with you! Candy Cane…

Tis’ the season to dress like a favorite holiday time treat…a candy cane of course! I instantly fell in love with this ensemble the second I slipped into it and decided that it was a total ‘Holiday‘ must! Who doesn’t love to dress up like a candy cane for Christmas? Now they won’t just be hanging on the tree…but also in your closet 😉 Now that’s what I’d like to call…sweet! It’s the next look up in my ‘Holiday Dressing’ guide…you can see previous looks here, here + here.Before breaking down the look I wanted to just say I hope you all had a fabulous ‘Pre-Christmas’ weekend! I got some holiday shopping done (which ~~may~~ have included some gift giving to myself…oops) and I also checked out a ‘Holiday Light Spectacular’ on Long Island…if you’d like to follow my holiday adventures follow me on instagram at @MissyOnMadison (P.S. I based my whole look around a simple red and white striped scarf (the one I am wearing is from Old Navy and is ~~no longer available~~) but I found similar options (that are on sale of course) here + here.After the scarf came into play…the rest of the outfit just fell into place. Old Navy always has a great selection of solid sweaters that can be worn for any occasion, so I grabbed this white scoop neck sweater on sale for under $20! (Great last minute gift idea ladies and gents!)I’ve had this red faux leather skirt for over a year now and I honestly can’t remember where I snagged it but I found a similar one from BCBG at 6pm.com on sale here!As if the skirt wasn’t enough red…add on one of my favorite styles from Rebecca Minkoff…the ‘mini affair bag‘! Zappos has it on sale now with free shipping here.I decided to go simple with the shoes (couldn’t add any more red…would have been a bit much…don’t ya think?!) So nude patent leather pumps are always chic and are an essential for every fashionista’s wardrobe. Winter Wear…

Why hello there and Happy Friday! It was brought to my attention by my mother dearest that she finds it ‘~~annoying~~‘ when I write ‘Hello Lovers’ or ‘Happy (insert day) Lovers’ at the beginning of all of my blog posts so I’m going to attempt to switch things up (because mom knows best after all…right?). Well that little comment A) made me laugh / smile because she actually reads my blog + B) made me wonder what is one thing that drives my readers’ mom’s nuts that they do? Is it a phrase or word you gals use? Is it a certain type of food you like to eat? Is it a musician you like? The possibilities are endless and I’d LOVE for you to share with me what bugs your mama dukes (hey if we ~~can’t~~ laugh and joke about it who else will?) :p

Ok, so besides discussing what irritates our mothers, let’s take a moment to break down a new winter outfit (that yes is FINALLY weather appropriate) 😉 Yes, I acknowledge that some of the outfits I share aren’t ideal for the cool temperatures this winter has brought to NY, but hey like I said…I wish it was spring/summer year round #SorryNotSorry My love for an Old Navy cable knit sweater has become quite apparent this week on the blog (I wore this brown one on Wednesday here + I wore the baby blue one yesterday here)…I guess you can say a classic cable knit sweater has become a winter staple for me! It can be dressed up or down and truly keeps me cozy at all times…which is essential for this bitter cold weather which I so desperately need to escape haha (can you say vacation?!)I always wear white when I want, how I want because I rarely ~~follow~~ the rules (hey if I did it would only be worn a few months out of the year and I would miss it dearly). So white skinny jeans and a white puffer vest (which I am selling on my Poshmark here) were bound to happen…winter white anyone?I have the toughest time finding tall boots because my calves require ‘wide calf’ in almost every style but then when I get wide calf they fit too big and are unflattering…well to my surprise my friends over at NYLA solved my quandry with these OTK (over the knee…don’t worry I just picked up on that abbreviation about 24 hours ago) suede riding boots that stretch around your calf similar to the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boot except these beauties retail for under $75…making them a ‘MUST’ in my book.Because I occasionally like to be ‘matchy matchy‘ I had to rock my last year’s Christmas gift to myself…the Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier. This bag comes with me everywhere…and I literally mean everywhere…Target, Manhattan, JFK…you name it, it’s been there along for the ride.I try to keep the accessory game on point at all times so here ya go: Mirrored Aviators, Caravelle New York Watch, Stone Necklace, Initial Triangle Necklace….and they all make great ~~last minute~~ Holiday gifts 😉 😉 I actually (for about all of 10 minutes before freezing) felt like embracing the winter weather…like I mentioned short lived 😉 | Click To Shop My Look |

Snow Flake…

Happy Thursday Lovers! I titled this post ‘Snow Flake’ because the combination of the baby blue cable knit sweater, ivory tulle skirt and metallic accessories made me instantly think of snow flake holiday decoration that is hanging in one of the windows of my house at the moment. Snow flakes, like this outfit are simple yet elegant, they glimmer at night or during the day and are always bound to make you smile 🙂 I love wearing tulle skirts because they make me feel like that little girl that wants to be a princess (hell maybe that’s still me…oops). They are always an extra special piece to wear for any occasion…especially the holiday season. At times wearing a tulle skirt can be seen as ‘too much’ but styled the right way…totally do-able!I paired this LC Lauren Conrad tulle skirt with a cable knit sweater from Old Navy. I love the touch of baby blue especially because it can even be worn well into spring when the weather is still a tad cool in the early months. While I love this one from Old Navy, I found similar ones here + here (both for under $50!).Now time to break down my metallic accessories…because every snow flake wants to shine right? 😉 My silver pumps are from Christian Siriano for Payless (now on my Poshmark here) and are no longer available but I found a similar pair from DV By Dolce Vita on sale at Macy’s here!Next up? This metallic silver zip clutch is perfect for the Holiday season because it can be worn with absolutely EVERYTHING! Metallic is always statement making and dresses up any look. This clutch is from Carolinna Espinosa (on my Poshmark here / similar Steve Madden clutch here) and is no longer available but I found a similar one from Clare V. at Neiman Marcus here.And once again…had to rock my favorite piece of candy…arm candy I mean from Caravelle NY…the best piece to match with any Holiday ensemble…On a side note, I’d like to share a little personal update from the world of Missy. My little buddy Charlie just came home last night from having emergency eye surgery at the animal hospital. I don’t know about you, but my feeling is that Charlie isn’t just our family dog, he is truly a member of our family and to go through this little hiccup during the holiday season has been stressful on all of us. So with the merriest time of year upon us, always remember to be thankful, grateful and appreciative of what you have…whether it be family, friends, health or even your pet! | Click To Shop This Look |
