Monday Morning Blues + Bleu Hues…I shot this look yesterday before I gave up for the day due to the windy Long Island weather we were having. Trying to carve out a day to shoot new looks is tough and it is even more difficult when the weather isn’t helping me out (gimme a break already…where is spring?!). When editing these photos I realized not only am I wearing blue, but the lighting in these photos gives off a ‘cool’ ‘blue’ hue as well…it was meant to be huh 😉 I am excited for another busy week of work, events and of course the occasional sushi date with my gal pals (anytime I have a rough day…’sushi?’ is what gets sent to my girlfriends and the response ‘kk’ haha I guess sushi is my version of a Happy Hour cocktail’).
I am determined to make it spring outside…I am over the slushy sidewalks, constant fear of snow screwing up my commute and the fact that it makes me sleepier than usual (case in point I am practically falling asleep while writing this…in case you didn’t know, I write my posts the night before they are published…9/10 times I am wrapped in a towel with wet hair laying on my bed having the constant battle in my head of whether to write the post or pass out…clearly we see what won…writing the post haha) I LOVE color year round, so it’s no surprise that for one of the freezing days at NYFW I decided to wear shades of white, blue and black (all I am missing is gold and it could potentially be #The Dress…seriously didn’t understand that whole craze for all of 24 hours haha) Anyways…Back to what I am wearing and how it can transition perfectly into the spring.
I love everything about today’s look because all of the pieces can be worn in various ways. A faux fur vest is a great option to wear well into spring because it keeps ya warm without the bulkiness of a coat…what I did here to keep me warm, is simply layer it over my white boyfriend blazer (did I mention how much I love white blazers…pretty much love them more than black ones..clearly not traditional haha). And what matches with a white blazer better than white pants right? #Obsessed + For my ‘Pop Of Color’ a cobalt blue blouse…my favorite color for spring…summer…pretty much year round 😉
Accessories wise I kinda did ‘All Black Everything’ minus my navy suede OTK boots that is 😉 How great are they? I can’t believe I scored them on clearance at Nordstrom Rack (basically they were a present to myself when I ‘even exchanged’ the gift my mom got me for Christmas…hey it’s still a present right? :p) I have worn this black floppy hat in a few different outfit posts now…once in Florida by the pool, once with a chic red sweater and once with my snow day outfit. And of course my newest handbag investment…the Gucci Soho Work Tote…I seriously love it and wear it everyday to work…best bag for commuting <3
On a side note, I got my first ever facial at Sisley Paris in NYC last night and it was the BEST facial I ever got in my life…I left with my skin feeling rejuvenated, fresh and as soft as a baby’s bottom 😉 I can’t wait to go back and save up to own all of their products (maybe I will have to cut back on the shopping…hmmm #WhatIsAGirlToDo?)*Photos By Lydia Hudgens
Happy Wednesday Loves! This look features two of my favorite fall trends…cobalt blue and metallic…what more can a fashionista ask for? The lovely team at ShopMieux sent me these Zara metallic blue platform heels which are super comfortable and the perfect night out shoe (similar from ASOS here). I figured why stop the metallic moment at my footwear…why not add a metallic bag as well like my silver clutch from Carolinna Espinosa (similar from ShopBop here…use code FRIENDS25 for 25% off your purchase!). Now that we broke the metallics down…let’s get to the rest of this Humpday ensemble 😉 My cobalt blue blouse is from LC By Lauren Conrad AND you can score it now from my closet on Poshmark for a fraction of the cost! Like I mentioned earlier, from the bag to the shoes…I am loving metallic for fall…can you blame me? Metallic accessories, in my opinion really pull the look together…they add a little sparkle and shine (as if the sleeves on this top didn’t have enough of it..) and they can match with almost anything! My black scuba skirt is from Target, but I found a similar one available now from Nordstrom here. And to stay within the blue hues…mirrored aviators, my go to accessory! A little fun fact…while shooting this look at my local Tanger Outlets (what can I say why not shop & shoot at the same time haha!) a group of guys walked by and screamed out ‘Looking Good’ as I’m sitting there pretending to be a model…my brother aka my photographer just shook his head in embarrassment…sibling love at it’s finest 🙂Shop My Look<3
