    SJP for Nordstrom Collection

    20140304-100426.jpg

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of visiting the limited edition Sarah Jessica Parker for Nordstrom pop-up shop in Soho! Safe to say this was the highlight of my weekend and pretty much my life, my little sister and I waited on live for 2 hours to meet Carrie Bradshaw herself and check out her exclusive Nordstrom collaboration in person!

So like many other girls out there, I aspire to be Carrie Bradshaw…stylish, independent, writing for Vogue with a killer Manhattan apartment and closet…although that may not be my current reality, something Carrie and I have in common is our love for footwear, which I shared with SJP when I finally got to speak to her and told her about how I work in the footwear industry in Manhattan and how my friends and family call me the modern day ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ (I could only hope šŸ˜‰ )! I even spotted the legendary Andre Leon Talley while waiting on line to get in…fashion heaven!

Her line for Nordstrom isn’t just shoes, there’s jackets and bags all suiting for the gal on the go who loves to twirl in a tulle skirt or wear a pair of metallic heels with ripped boyfriend jeans…the possibilities are simply endless! I personally purchased the ‘Bobbie‘ in coral which is perfect for spring into summer for work or play. Now don’t get me wrong, while I love the collection, the price tag is a little steep for a fashionista on a budget like myself. Her shoes are being created in Italy by George Malkemus aka Mr. Manolo BlahnikĀ (He is President of the company)! Talk about a winning combination…SJP put Manolo on the map during her ‘Sex and the City‘ days! Does ‘Hello Lover‘ ring a bell? šŸ™‚

Sarah Jessica herself was a total sweet heart. She took photos with my sister and I and even chatted with us for a few minutes…best few minutes of my life! Safe to say Carrie didn’t disappoint and I will continue to dream of being proposed to with satin blue Manolo Blahnik’s in a custom built walk in closet on the penthouse level of an New York City building…I tend to dream big!

    Killer Cobalt

    20140131-123050.jpg

This is one of my favorite outfits on the blog to date! As you know by now…color is a key part of my wardrobe and when I am feeling extra glamorous, I have a thing for faux fur, so when I put this outfit on I was in heaven!

I looked in the mirror and had a Carrie Bradshaw moment thinking all I needed was a girls night out with some cosmos and I am ready to go šŸ˜‰ I have been walking a fine line this winter between wanting to dress warm and cozy but also wanting to look sexy and trendy…this look went for the later. I can assure you that I can’t walk out of the house in just this (yes, I actually have to wear a coat ugh, but as long as it’s Michael Kors I suppose I’ll survive lol), but once I get to where I’m going, this outfit is simply stunning.

One of my favorite things about my wardrobe and this outfit is that every piece is affordable…I never splurge except for on handbags ( hence my Louis Vuitton obsession), but when it comes to clothes, in order to have more options, I often times shop the sale and clearance section and that’s how every piece in this outfit cam about (minus the clutch…that’s a slightly different story šŸ˜‰ )!

This clutch was given to me by my mom who received it from her mother as a gift from Louis Vuitton in Paris so it’s pretty legit, every time I wear it my mom never hesitates to remind me the history of it and ‘You better not loose it’! Well so far I haven’t and because i love it so much I had to add it to the glitz and glamour of this outfit!

    Chic In Pink!

    20140131-113554.jpg

When I slipped into this outfit i fell in love…a flared out skirt from the Catherine Malandrino collection for Kohls, an elegant pink sweater, a chic quilted black bag and some classic black suede pumps…what more can a girl ask for to look classy, sassy and sophisticated!

I love this skirt because of the lace insert details in the pleats…even though I bought this from Kohls (on clearance I may add!) you would never be able to tell that from looking at it. That’s something I love about designer collaborations with retail giants…although the clothing and accessories are created with a lower price point in mind, they never skimp on style or quality!

In addition to swooning over this skirt, as always, I love a ‘Pop Of Color‘ (I think Brad Goreski is my fashion soul mate, bow tie and all) because even in the winter when women are seen wearing black from head to toe, I have a thing for standing out and making a statement šŸ˜‰ so rocking this pink Old Navy sweater was a definite ‘Must‘!

And the best way to pull any look together, especially once you add some color, is with simple accessories…a chic black Rebecca Minkoff bag and classy black pumps! You can never go wrong with black accessories!

    Birthday Moment!

    20140203-093453.jpg

Well in case you din’t know, today is my birthday! Yes people I’m the big 22…getting so old (yea right lol!) While I don’t have some big birthday bash like Howard Stern had planned, (by the way I’m a huge Howard fan, and that Birthday Show was insane) Ā I am excited to spend a nice night with my boyfriend and have a great dinner followed by a serious chocolate overload because we are heading to Max Brenner in NYC!

If you haven’t heard of this place google it, I’ve passed it and dreamt of eating there and now is my chance šŸ™‚ yay! They are known for their delicious desserts and gourmet chocolate and you know I’ll be having that as my appetizer, entree and dessert haha!

Every year on my birthday I like to reflect back on where I am this year. At this time last year I turned 21…I was a senior in college, Free Lancing for Footwear News, single and working like a maniac two part time jobs to be able to afford my 21st birthday bash I was planning. This year: I’m a college graduate, I work full time in NYC doing a job I love and I have a great boyfriend who I love spending my time with…I’d say turning 22 has brought some pretty awesome things to me.

Naturally, a birthday wouldn’t be a birthday without a cute outfit! Duh! So I’ll be wearing something similar to this look (Stay tuned for pictures from tonight’s outfit & full details on this look!)Ā I found these Michael Kors shoes on clearance at Lord & Taylor and fell in love! Can’t wait to have my Carrie Bradshaw moment tonight in these beauties! šŸ™‚

Which brings me to the best birthday gift I got from my parents, my own Canon camera perfect for blogging šŸ™‚ Thanks mom and dad! Can’t wait to snap pictures all over the place! Now just to find the perfect camera bag…hmmm always thinking of things to shop for šŸ˜‰
