Little Miss N A V Y…with temperatures heating up I have always been asked the same question – ‘Where can I find cute dresses to wear to a job interview or the office in the spring or summer when it is scorching outside?’ Well here it is ladies…Burlington, Lord & Taylor + Nordstrom! These stores are my go-to when it comes to finding the best looks to wear to the office. My favorite silhouette year round when it comes to dresses is A-Line. Honestly, I am pretty sure the A-Line silhouette flatters almost everyone…with a fitted look on top and the flowed out bottom, this feminine style is perfect to rock any interview, meeting + beyond!
While this dress came with the white skinny belt, I feel like purchasing a separate white belt comes in handy to style with dresses, tunics, sweaters, tops + beyond. The more styling elements you can snag to mix and match the better!
I have become a huge fan of the wayfarer style sunglasses recently. I feel they just go with everything and are great to wear when heading out to meetings throughout the day.
This Lacoste satchel is great for the office because it can fit my laptop + all of my essentials for a busy day on the go.
And as if I haven’t worn these pumps enough already…I do firmly believe every gal should have at least one pair of white pumps in her wardrobe for year round wear (especially in spring + summer) ♥
And naturally I had to end this with a silly pose because why not live a little 😉 hehe
Happy Humpday ♥ I am getting back into the swing of things when it comes to the blog (seriously life gets so hectic sometimes that it makes it impossible to keep with my normal routine :p but I am back at it)! I honestly can’t believe that Thanksgiving is next week! It feels like it just creeped up on us all of a sudden…where has this year gone?!
Now while I will be sharing some cozy + dressy Thanksgiving looks later on this week + next week, today’s outfit is perfect for Thanksgiving Eve…you know the night before Thanksgiving where you head out with your friends + have plenty of laughs before hanging with your family the following day, because hey…you got to have some fun stories to share at the dining room table right? 😉 Whether it’s just dinner with friends, a drink at the bar or a night of dancing, a simple olive dress like this one paired with lace up heels is the ideal go-to (just layer a cardigan, a blazer or even a moto jacket depending where you are off to)!
I honestly can’t remember where I got this dress but I found two similar options below (both under $25 – talk about a steal for the holidays)! You can even repurpose this dress for Christmas time by adding some stockings, boots + a sweater. I love when pieces are so versatile!
R e d + B l a c k for Valentine’s Day? #Groundbreaking :p With V-Day being tomorrow and 1 more red look in my iPhoto library that meant it was time to share it! Nothing screams V-Day like red pumps + a red bag…especially paired with a ‘Little Black Outfit‘♥ I actually didn’t go for the LBD (crazy, I know) so instead I opted for a black floral top and an easy to mix + match black scuba skirt!Nothing makes editing photos quite as enjoyable as finding funny shots like this one haha That’s the joy of shooting with friends :p Let me break down my look — this top is a combination of Faux Leather + a Floral Print…such a fun combo! And my skirt can match with anything which is always a Win / Win!
Someone has a case of the M O N D A Y ‘ S…ok maybe it’s me and maybe you too? :p I had one heck of a weekend + I already can’t wait for the upcoming 3 day weekend that is just 5 days away (let the countdown begin) because I need some R&R like nobody’s business 😉 (got to look forward to something, right? haha)
Saturday, I headed to the famous Laugh Factory on Sunset (still can’t believe Sunset is only 5 minutes from where I live #surreal)…since laughter is honestly the best medicine for when you are feeling drained or need a little pick me up! Yesterday I headed to Kristi’s house for a Vera Bradley themed brunch to celebrate the launch of their new candle, soaps + fragrance sets! Pretty flowers, macaroons + popcorn…made for the perfect #SundayFunday! You can see more on my SnapChat – MissyOnMadison, Twitter + Insta <3
Here are some of my current favorites from the brunch:
Back to my outfit…My brother shot this look on me back in May when we were visiting USC (in true Missy fashion I needed to share my ‘college‘ style even though I graduated college years ago haha!) But…if I was still in school…this would be a great casual look!
Since this was shot back in the spring, it was sandal season…although I still wear sandals like these (similar) even now during winter in LA (it ain’t NY cold so why not)! These sandals are from J. Crew Factory, but these silver Birkenstocks are really similar and very comfortable (is it bad I want to buy these too? #oops)!
After being in Cali for a little over 2 months now, I have officially found one of my favorite spots…Malibu 😉 Naturally I would have champagne wishes + caviar dreams about one of the most expensive areas of Cali haha So while I may not be able to afford living there just yet (trust me, the second I do…Madison Malibu will be finding me my dream home :p I hope you guys are as obsessed with MDLA as I am because I new season is just around the corner and my boo thang Madison is making an appearance a few times throughout the season!) Anyways I digress…I popped over to Malibu with Ali to shoot this head to toe affordable look where each piece retails for $80 or under! Ummm AMAZING right?
