Nine West helped me have the best start to my day yesterday. The shoe giant had a ‘Rocking’ party from 8-10am yesterday morning to celebrate the opening of their new Rockefeller Center location.
Treats, blogger Elizabeth Minett of Haut Appetit and plenty of shoes were on hand at the event. Other than attending a fun ‘happy hour’ before work, Nine West went a step further by giving away 9 $100 gift cards to the first 9 people in the store (what a cute idea!), and guess who was lucky number 8? You guessed it! Muah!
The lovely Elizabeth helped me choose a great pair to buy with the gift card while being tweeted, instagrammed and facebooked for Elizabeth’s blog and Nine West social media!
I fell in love with two pairs of shoes. First, I have a major soft spot for heels, pumps to be exact…nothing is classier than a woman slipping into a pair of sexy pumps! These pumps were made to make a statement! Cameron Silver of the high end consignment boutique ‘Decades’ which was featured on Bravo this past year, teamed up with Nine West to bring back ‘punk’ in a fun and fresh way. These gray suede pumps with hot pink trimming are just one of the many styles I fell head over heels for at the party. Of course I had to snag them! (Stay tuned for a ‘Think Pink’ post with these babies).
The other pair of shoes myself and Elizabeth are modeling is the ‘Destino’ boot from the ‘In Style’ magazine collection called ‘9 West In Style’. These booties are the perfect casual chic shoe. Rock them with distressed denim like Elizabeth or pair them with a dress and tights; they are great for any occasion!

So while running to an appointment in Manhattan today, I waltzed through Rockefeller Center and something stopped me in my tracks.
Here we are, mid-October and there were men, in Rockefeller Center installing holiday lights throughout the few block radius. This sparked the question in my head, ‘How soon is too soon when it comes to preparing for the holidays?’.
This wasn’t the first sign I received this week that a jolly, happy season is upon us. Yesterday an e-mail popped up on my phone suggesting I start booking ‘table’ reservations for…not Halloween, not Thanksgiving and no not Christmas, but for New Year’s Eve! The new year isn’t upon us for a couple of months, so why are we so eager to prepare to ring it in?
Is it simply something to look forward to? In order to have the ‘perfect’ New Year’s Eve or holiday experience, must we start thinking about it months ahead of time?
I don’t know about you, but I like to live in the present, hello Halloween is just 2 weeks away and I have no clue what to wear; Now that’s what I’m thinking about, how about you?

This outfit post is one of my favorites for the fall season. Fall is all about neutral and earth tones, but sometimes that can get old after a while. The key is to mix different textures to make the look stand out rather than just blend in.
I found this burgundy Old Navy top during their Columbus Day sale and scored it 50% off! I chose to pair it with a simple white skirt from Urban Outfitters, (yes, I still wear white after Labor Day and of course I got the skirt on clearance)!
Since it is fall, booties are always a must, and these Old Navy booties are an essential. I have them in black as well and they have been making the rounds in my wardrobe rotation!
To pull the look together, I layered this wool vest from H&M for a fresh, fall look!
Happy Thursday Fashionistas!

I’ve always been on the hunt for cheap, chic style, but when two pieces are practically identical and are on two different sides of the price scale I feel I have to share a new segment I’d like to call ‘Lust vs Must’.
It’s not a new concept. Magazines, news shows and even stylists share how to get the ‘Look’ for less. I decided it was only suiting for me to share some of my great ‘Lust vs Must’ finds!
This find inspired the weekly post idea. Spotting an expensive item you love but then finding a practical carbon copy for a fraction of the price. In this case I scored these Princess By Vera Wang ‘Social Media’ smoking slippers from Kohls for $25 a few weeks ago (see post).
While scrolling through instagram, I spotted an almost identical pair from Nordstrom by Chatelles called ‘Albert Custom Loafer’. Both pairs have a ‘# and an @’ symbol, but this pair from Nordstrom costs a whopping $275!
Now take that for a ‘Lust vs Must’, which would you choose?

While I love posting outfits I wear to the office or out on the weekends, one style I haven’t shared with you is my go to gym look!
In honor of ‘Workout Wednesday’ I’m sharing with you one of my must have gym essentials, Active by Old Navy clothing. While I love Under Armour and Lululemon but, for a girl on a budget, it’s a bit crazy to splurge on gym clothes like that. After all we wear them just work up a sweat in, right?
Active by Old Navy has everything from sweats, to sports bras to yoga gear and everything in between. Old Navy can now be your one stop shop for cute clothes to wear by day and gym gear to rock at the yoga studio or during that early morning run!
In my case, I wear my Old Navy Active to boot camp, a workout routine I’ve become somewhat obsessed with. While boot camps have been around for a while, they are becoming an even bigger trend and I see exactly why…in a single one hour session you get your cardio, weight and resistance training in, and it’ll leave you dripping in sweat. It’s the perfect routine for a busy girl on the go like myself!
If your from LI try joining my boot camp! The trainers are great and they are even on Groupon so you can get a feel for the place and workouts before fully committing!
