Ok…I know you all are going to yell at me and say ‘What Are You Thinking?!” wearing a skirt in the dead of winter. Well as I’ve shared with you guys before, I shoot multiple looks ahead of time (this way when temperatures are below zero I am not freezing my little butt off wearing my ever favorite skater skirt!). So this little ‘Trouble Maker’ was shot in…drum roll please…October! Yes…You heard me October. My iPhoto library is a never ending catalog of Missy approved outfits just waiting to be posted so in a way this look is a ‘FlashBack Friday’ hence why it isn’t weather appropriate…Now that we cleared the air as to why I am not covered in goosebumps here haha let’s get to the fun stuff…A) The fact that it is Friday and the start of a much needed weekend after my first full week at my new job + B) Breaking down today’s outfit details 😉This look was based around this Rock & Republic scoop neck scuba sweatshirt from Kohls (on sale now for $25!). When I spotted it in Kohls I just knew I had to have it because if you ask anyone that knows me…it’s safe to say I am the occasional ‘Trouble Maker‘ (oops). In order to dress up an otherwise ordinary sweatshirt I paired it with this cute gray quilted skater skirt from Charlotte Russe (which is only $12…total must have!). I love a good skater skirt and especially anything with a quilted design…what can I say it reminds me of Chanel haha!Another reason I love this outfit? It encompasses my two current obsessions…a Pop Of Color + Studded Pumps (which in reality have always been obsessions of mine!) I scored this orange satchel at Last Call Neiman Marcus as a last minute find, but I found two similar options here + here. My black rockstud pumps aren’t Valentino my loves…they are from Necessary Clothing for under $30here! Yes…it’s a god send that I am thankful for every day 😉Every outfit needs a little bling! cc: Kendra Scott Naomi Ring + Michael Kors Silver Chonograph WatchI wish the weather would actually warm up so I could wear an outfit like this out again 🙁 But hey that’s what makes New York, New York right folks? I am off to work (I barely got any sleep between setting up this post and getting distracted by the newest episode of ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’…if only Patti could set me up with my perfect match…I already have the wedding essentials down pat working at Kleinfeld!)

Tis’ the season to dress like a favorite holiday time treat…a candy cane of course! I instantly fell in love with this ensemble the second I slipped into it and decided that it was a total ‘Holiday‘ must! Who doesn’t love to dress up like a candy cane for Christmas? Now they won’t just be hanging on the tree…but also in your closet 😉 Now that’s what I’d like to call…sweet! It’s the next look up in my ‘Holiday Dressing’ guide…you can see previous looks here, here + here. Before breaking down the look I wanted to just say I hope you all had a fabulous ‘Pre-Christmas’ weekend! I got some holiday shopping done (which may have included some gift giving to myself…oops) and I also checked out a ‘Holiday Light Spectacular’ on Long Island…if you’d like to follow my holiday adventures follow me on instagram at @MissyOnMadison (P.S. You can also shop my day to day insta posts via LikeToKnow. It Register Today!)So it’s all about the red and white with today’s look. I based my whole look around a simple red and white striped scarf (the one I am wearing is from Old Navy and is no longer available) but I found similar options (that are on sale of course) here + here. After the scarf came into play…the rest of the outfit just fell into place. Old Navy always has a great selection of solid sweaters that can be worn for any occasion, so I grabbed this white scoop neck sweater on sale for under $20! (Great last minute gift idea ladies and gents!)I’ve had this red faux leather skirt for over a year now and I honestly can’t remember where I snagged it but I found a similar one from BCBG at 6pm.com on sale here!As if the skirt wasn’t enough red…add on one of my favorite styles from Rebecca Minkoff…the ‘mini affair bag‘! Zappos has it on sale now with free shippinghere.I decided to go simple with the shoes (couldn’t add any more red…would have been a bit much…don’t ya think?!) So nude patent leather pumps are always chic and are an essential for every fashionista’s wardrobe. The ones I found on sale are from Michael Kors and they also have a ‘flex’ foot bed to add extra comfort for the woman on the go!Stay tuned for a last minute gift guide tomorrow…don’t worry everyone procrastinates (even me!) Happy Monday Lovers! Stop right now, thank you very much, I need somebody with the human touch…Hey you always on the run, Gotta slow down baby, gotta have some fun! Sorry but while naming the post all I could think of in terms of ‘Stop’ was one of my favorite Spice Girl songs ‘Stop’ haha! I was a huge Spice Girl fan…I always pretended to be Posh spice because even as a youngster I loved leather and heels 😉 Besides my love for the Spice Girls as we all know I LOVE color…that means even in the winter months I will be rocking a ‘pop of color’ so when I spotted this cherry red Vince Camuto coat at Lord & Taylor (on clearance now!) I had to have it!And just in case the red coat didn’t provide me with enough color for one look…Add this cobalt blue Neiman Marcus tote and you are ready to embrace winter in the most colorful of ways 😉 I went simple with my shoes because I couldn’t handle much more color than the bag and the coat…maybe I could of but hey not everyone can be as out there with color as me so I’m keeping it simple for you guys loves <3 They are from Pink Basis but I found a similar pair on sale from Nine West here.Underneath the red coat is a basic outfit that you can rock year round (ok maybe not the sleeveless top but hey add a blazer or a cardigan and you are ready to go)! You can never go wrong with a chic white button down blouse like this one from BCBG (for under $35 that’s a must!).As for my jeans…they are my favorite! I LOVE light wash jeans and I always cuff them because I love to show a little skin…even if it is just my ankles haha. I found two great pairs that are similar to the ones I am wearing here + here. This has seriously become my favoritecoat…just saying…It’s rare I find winter wear that I truly fall for but this coat is it for me…it’s my soul mate (may not have found my guy soul mate but hey the coat will do for now) 😉 | Click To Shop My Look |
Happy Thursday Lovers! I’m excited to switch things up today and share a little beauty post with ya’ll! I am always on the hunt for new beauty products…especially ones that are affordable and can be easily found at local drug stores or major retailers (all of today’s products are available at Target, Walgreens or Sephora)! So let’s get down to it…First up…Olay Regerist Micro-Sculpting Cream! I recently got my first ever Microdermabrasion treatment and the aesthetician (who was horrified by the state of my skin by the way) emphasized the importance of starting young with the proper products to nourish and treat your skin to get it in the best state before it’s too late. I may be 22 but apparently now is the time to combat aging skin before the aging starts…at first I wasn’t on board but after an hour treatment and a lot of convincing…I think I will listen up and start with my aging skin treatments…first off by sticking with the Olay Regenerist line…especially the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. Not only does it reduce the sight of wrinkles, but it firms skin in just a few days and helps your skin look 10 years younger in the matter of weeks…top rated, featured in countless beauty mags and plus I’m a fan…if that didn’t sell ya on this lightweight creamy product yet…I don’t know what will 😉 Maybe the fact that it retails for under $25 will help too…
Now that we know what to use on our face to combat aging skin let me introduce to you my skin saver…a product that deals with my biggest issue year round…blemishes and acne. The Body Shop has come up with a pocket sized solution to help reduce the appearance of blemishes in a matter of hours without using harsh chemicals that typically dry out your skin or cause negative side effects. I LOVE this Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Gel (I may or may not have it on me daily in my cosmetic bag).
After getting rid of your blemishes it’s time to bring a little attention to your lips…with Clinique Matte Lipstick. I love any lipstick that is matte and especially a lipstick that doesn’t feel dry or one that needs to be re-applied every half hour…this Clinique Long Lasting Soft Matte Lipstick has long lasting in it’s name and feels like a lightweight gloss or lip balm…I’ve been wearing this daily even if it is just to run errands.
It’s no secret that I absolutely LOVE nail polish and I am slightly addicted to manicures…and by slightly I mean definitely. I get my nails done minimum once a week and I always love trying new colors and brands. My long standing go to brand has been Essie, but when I saw this new brand ‘Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics‘ in my Glam Beauty package sent to me from Mode Media I right away A) fell in love with the name of the brand…hello ‘Obsessive + Compulsive’ describe me all too well according to my mother 😉 & B) these polishes are 100% Vegan + Cruelty-Free…now that’s pretty awesome for a nail polish!
They say ‘the eyes are the window to your soul’ so I feel it’s only suiting to make them pop…and Eyeko ‘Me & My Shadow Waterproof Shadow Liner’ has become my savior for early morning eye makeup in a jiffy. This glide on shadow is long lasting, not messy and provides amazing color without having to mix and match it with multiple eye products. Since I tend to keep my eye makeup simple (you will never see me with a cat eye or multiple eye shadow colors unless it is professionally done) this product is perfect for me. I do my makeup in under 15 minutes and this takes all of 30 seconds to apply for an instant ‘done’ look.
Now for the finishing touches…fabulous hair and a delicious scent. I always want simple and easy hair products to spray on wet or dry hair that add volume or a little style with low maintenance and who would of thought Target would sell my ideal product, ‘Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Thicken & Full 3D Boosting Creme‘. Spray and go…nothing complicated there. It adds bounce, shine and volume without that ‘hard’ or ‘crunchy’ feeling…ladies you know exactly what I am referring to…
Last but not least…the fragrance. I scream, you scream, we all scream for…you guessed it ICE CREAM…so Demeter Fragrance came up with a genius scent…’Pistachio Ice Cream’! Not only does it smell just like my favorite flavor of ice cream but it is such a unique scent I’ve had various gals and gents come up to me asking what I’m wearing…let’s just say it is far from Chanel No.5. Wear this only if you are able to think outside the box and smell sweet even if you don’t always act like it 😉 (Similar picks below)

So it may still be winter in NYC but I just came back from Vegas where there was nothing but sunny skies and palm trees…putting me in the mood to post a bright and minty fresh outfit 😉 (get it mint…minty fresh haha)!
Something I learned is that whenever I wear a bright color my mood is instantly lifted…I feel like a new person and it’s as if all eyes are on me…because when doesn’t a little neon grab your attention? I scored this chic blazer on clearance for $10 at H&M a year ago and I must say it always makes a statement. I paired it with a flirty polka dot skirt, my fav Prabal Gurung for Target heels and my trustee Rebecca Minkoff ‘mini mac bag‘. This bag is perfect for anything…it’s my go to 🙂
I also love these heels because they are not only stylish, but super comfortable and can go with a dress, skirt, jeans, shorts or just about anything! They were one of my go to shoes for Vegas although I spent the whole trip working :/…safe to say I can’t wait to go back for some true fun in the sun and in the casino! I was in Vegas on business but next time it will definitely be for some pleasure!
Here’s to wishing for some warmer weather so I can actually wear an outfit like this to work rather than just for playing dress up on the weekends 🙂
