Merry Christmas Eve ladies and gents! Every Christmas Eve my family has the tradition of my siblings and I going to my grandparents house, opening presents and having some quality family time (which due to our busy schedules tends to fall to the wayside). The holiday season is the perfect time to catch up with family, friends and of course…rock some glam pieces from your closet…duh! That’s my favorite part of the holiday season…dressing up 😉 All black everything…jk just my Dora Landa NY Lace & Faux Leather Top and my Catherine Malandrino for Kohls Drop Waist Skirt (which also has hints of lace…can you spot them?). Both pieces are timeless classics and will forever be mixed and matched from season to season.While I went simple with my black on black top and skirt, my accessories definitely added some much need ‘sass‘ to this look. I tend to wear a lot of black around the holiday season because you can always dress it up with the right shoes and handbag and even…jewelry, which is exactly what I did here!My jewelry is from Capwell + Co…scored at a sample sale (both pieces are in my Poshmark closet here + here) because I always try to snag a great deal (luckily with Capwell + Co all of their pieces are affordable!). I found a similar amethyst cuff and amethyst ring (both on sale now) here + here.I instantly fell head over ‘heels’ for A) this gorgeous purple bow bag that is (drumroll please) from Target! + B) these stunning leopard ‘Valentino Rockstud’ inspired pumps (available in my Poshmark closet here).Skirts or dresses are always my go to when it comes to getting ‘glam’ for any occasion and yes that even includes family affairs for Christmas 😉 What girl doesn’t love to play dress up when given an excuse?On a side note…I am SUPER excited to share that Christmas came a little early for me…I got a pretty awesome present and in true ‘Christmas’ fashion, I won’t reveal it till tomorrow when I share some present sharing glam on the blog 😉 So check back tomorrow to unwrap my exciting gift that guess what…will keep on giving!| Click To Shop My Look |

Candy Cane…

Tis’ the season to dress like a favorite holiday time treat…a candy cane of course! I instantly fell in love with this ensemble the second I slipped into it and decided that it was a total ‘Holiday‘ must! Who doesn’t love to dress up like a candy cane for Christmas? Now they won’t just be hanging on the tree…but also in your closet 😉 Now that’s what I’d like to call…sweet! It’s the next look up in my ‘Holiday Dressing’ guide…you can see previous looks here, here + here.Before breaking down the look I wanted to just say I hope you all had a fabulous ‘Pre-Christmas’ weekend! I got some holiday shopping done (which ~~may~~ have included some gift giving to myself…oops) and I also checked out a ‘Holiday Light Spectacular’ on Long Island…if you’d like to follow my holiday adventures follow me on instagram at @MissyOnMadison (P.S. I based my whole look around a simple red and white striped scarf (the one I am wearing is from Old Navy and is ~~no longer available~~) but I found similar options (that are on sale of course) here + here.After the scarf came into play…the rest of the outfit just fell into place. Old Navy always has a great selection of solid sweaters that can be worn for any occasion, so I grabbed this white scoop neck sweater on sale for under $20! (Great last minute gift idea ladies and gents!)I’ve had this red faux leather skirt for over a year now and I honestly can’t remember where I snagged it but I found a similar one from BCBG at 6pm.com on sale here!As if the skirt wasn’t enough red…add on one of my favorite styles from Rebecca Minkoff…the ‘mini affair bag‘! Zappos has it on sale now with free shipping here.I decided to go simple with the shoes (couldn’t add any more red…would have been a bit much…don’t ya think?!) So nude patent leather pumps are always chic and are an essential for every fashionista’s wardrobe. The ones I found on sale are from Michael Kors and they also have a ‘flex’ foot bed to add extra comfort for the woman on the go!Stay tuned for a last minute gift guide tomorrow…don’t worry everyone procrastinates (even me!) Snow Flake…

Happy Thursday Lovers! I titled this post ‘Snow Flake’ because the combination of the baby blue cable knit sweater, ivory tulle skirt and metallic accessories made me instantly think of snow flake holiday decoration that is hanging in one of the windows of my house at the moment. Snow flakes, like this outfit are simple yet elegant, they glimmer at night or during the day and are always bound to make you smile 🙂 I love wearing tulle skirts because they make me feel like that little girl that wants to be a princess (hell maybe that’s still me…oops). They are always an extra special piece to wear for any occasion…especially the holiday season. At times wearing a tulle skirt can be seen as ‘too much’ but styled the right way…totally do-able!I paired this LC Lauren Conrad tulle skirt with a cable knit sweater from Old Navy. I love the touch of baby blue especially because it can even be worn well into spring when the weather is still a tad cool in the early months. While I love this one from Old Navy, I found similar ones here + here (both for under $50!).Now time to break down my metallic accessories…because every snow flake wants to shine right? 😉 My silver pumps are from Christian Siriano for Payless (now on my Poshmark here) and are no longer available but I found a similar pair from DV By Dolce Vita on sale at Macy’s here!Next up? This metallic silver zip clutch is perfect for the Holiday season because it can be worn with absolutely EVERYTHING! Metallic is always statement making and dresses up any look. This clutch is from Carolinna Espinosa (on my Poshmark here / similar Steve Madden clutch here) and is no longer available but I found a similar one from Clare V. at Neiman Marcus here.And once again…had to rock my favorite piece of candy…arm candy I mean from Caravelle NY…the best piece to match with any Holiday ensemble…On a side note, I’d like to share a little personal update from the world of Missy. My little buddy Charlie just came home last night from having emergency eye surgery at the animal hospital. I don’t know about you, but my feeling is that Charlie isn’t just our family dog, he is truly a member of our family and to go through this little hiccup during the holiday season has been stressful on all of us. So with the merriest time of year upon us, always remember to be thankful, grateful and appreciative of what you have…whether it be family, friends, health or even your pet! | Click To Shop This Look |

Holiday Dressing — Sweater Weather…

Happy Wednesday Loves! Usually the holiday season makes us think of glitz and glam…now don’t get me wrong, I love some sparkle just like the next gal but sometimes when you are around close family or friends all you need to wear for the holidays is a classic sweater…a cable knit sweater! Sorry but I never really got into the whole ‘ugly sweater‘ deal for the holiday season…I opt for a more trendy yet timeless sweater…the cable knit sweater. I scored this one at Old Navy and I wear it all the time…whether it is dressed up or dressed down, a cable knit sweater is an essential for every gal no matter what age. Because I hate wearing pants…yes I said it…I hate pants haha I paired this cable knit sweater with a maroon skater skirt (which can be worn year round, not just for the holiday season).I dressed the look up a bit with my black suede knee high boots which I constantly get asked where they are from…well the answer is H&M…2 years ago so unfortunately they are no longer there but I found similar ones on sale now for under $100 at Lord & Taylor here.And I am bringing leopard back this holiday season with this Betsey Johnson bag (similar style from Ralph Lauren here). I love wearing little hints of leopard from time to time…especially when the hues match so perfectly like they do in this ensemble. It wouldn’t be a true street style look without some killer sunnies…I never knew J Crew had such great sunglasses but I fell in love with these beauties the second I spotted them in store + on sale (the word sale always helps determine a good buy haha)!This is one of my favorite looks so far this month…it’s cute, simple and also kind of sexy by adding the knee high boots 😉 So you can wear this around the fam and also out for date night…win/win!| Click To Shop This Look |
