And I will be your main squeeze….Happy Friday! For all of you that are a little lost as to where the title of this post came from (along with the first line of this post haha) well it is from a song that instantly got stuck in my head when I started searching for similar ‘lime moto jackets’ in google…Shwayze’s ‘Corona + Lime’…a summer hit circa 2009 (hey maybe my brother ‘Pop Culture Died in 2009‘ is right…the best stuff was from 2009 or earlier :p BTW these photos are a little flashback to Long Island days with my little bro…he shot these <3) Anyways, this lime look had me signing that song all night long while writing this post…especially the part where they sing ‘If you are looking for love put your hands up‘…here’s a secret for ya…my hand it raised 😉
Happy Tuesday everyone! I am happy to report that I am writing today’s post from sunny Los Angeles where I am officially living now! Crazy I know…I still can’t wrap my head around being on the other side of the country from my family but luckily I have my blogger gal pals here to feel like family in the interim 🙂 This post is a little flashback to one of the exciting things I did pre-leaving NY…visiting the Marilyn Monroe Spa in the Hyatt Times Square in NYC! (Had to get my last Manhattan fix in before I said ‘bye for now’).
Having a relaxing spa day before a long journey and some new beginnings was completely necessary. I got a mani/pedi and a fabulous haircut and blow out and truly had my own ‘Marilyn’ moment (all that was missing was the movie star title hehe). Read More + Enter The Giveaway
Today is a bit bitter-sweet…by the time all of you are reading this, I will be on the road for my big move to California! If you didn’t catch Monday’s post, I announced that I am moving to LA and leaving the only place I’ve ever known, Long Island, for a new journey filled with great opportunities and of course some adventure.
It’s crazy to think I will be leaving my family and friends behind to venture out on my own and really become an adult but hey…it has to happen eventually right? Well I decided today was the perfect opportunity to do a little flashback to a look I shot a few weeks ago at one of my favorite Long Island hot spots, Prime American Kitchen & Bar (during my college years I actually hosted there during the summer). I have always loved being by the water and soaking up some sunshine so hostessing there was one of my favorite jobs and not to mention the food was kindaamazing…(and by kinda I mean it was in fact amazing!). Ok so maybe I am getting distracted…I love this look and even more the scenic Huntington Harbor backdrop (hey maybe it’s meant to be I am moving to LA…there is a Huntington beach in Cali isn’t there?)
Happy Tuesday Loves! May be a day late to share about my weekend adventure but hey better late than never right? On Sunday I headed to the Bronx with my dad to attend the Orchard Beach Car Show…he has a 1972 Chevelle SS with a 454 (if you are a car person or know a car person the response usually is along the lines of…big block or sweet car). I snapped photos , walked by the beach and unfortunately got a little sick from the heat…never a dull moment with me…trust me hahaThis is my dad’s beauty…his pride and joy and a classic piece of All American Muscle. This was the first show he ever entered and he most likely won. Unfortunately due to us leaving early because I got sick, we didn’t get to catch the award ceremony…but if you ask me he wins the trophy for dad of the year after trying to make me feel better…daddy’s girl forever and ever!On a brighter note, I saw some sick cars…all shapes, sizes, colors, models and ever car had it’s own little story…in a way cars for men are like fashion for women…they share a little about who they are and where they have been in their lives. Every time I buy a handbag I equate it to my dad fixing up his car…it’s something I love and something he loves…only difference? His love is an investment that increases in value…mine..just decreases my bank account haha! And then we spotted this little memo around the gas cap…like I said every guy’s car sends a message 😉Good Ole’ General Lee from the Dukes Of Hazzard! Hop in ya’ll! Spotted this little memo on a decked out hearse…the message speaks for itself. I have plenty of experience with this, not that I’m proud of it but let’s just say texting and driving…never a good idea even if you don’t harm yourself or someone else, the law will catch up with you…got to sit through some more defensive driving classes for that one! After checking out some cars, we walked over to the beach where my dad got back to his roots of A) Playing photographer for my blog and B) Seeing the beach he used to go to as a child (my dad was born and raised in the Bronx till he was a teenager). All in all it was a fun Sunday…summer weather, laid back vibes and the sound of engines raring to go…what more can a gal ask for? 🙂
Happy Labor Day Loves! While the old saying goes ‘No White After Labor Day’, there was never a saying about not wearing white ON Labor Day 😉 Who am I kidding, I don’t follow the rules…I wear white year round, but this gorgeous white eyelet dress is definitely a summer piece, especially a summer celebration dress! These photos were actually shot over a month and a half ago…any of my bloggers out there shoot things and totally forget about them? Well that was the case with this fab look! My white eyelet dress is actually from 3 years ago…my mom scored it on clearance at Macy’s. I must say white eyelet dresses are so classy and chic, I automatically think Sunday brunch or walking on the beach…so I had to shoot this on the Nautical Mile on Freeport, LI…a strip of bars, shops and restaurants right on the water 🙂My heels are from the Kate Hudson for Ann Taylor collection. I got them for $9…yes $9 a year ago! Don’t worry I found similar strappy cork heels from Aldo at 6pm.com 🙂 My bag…Rebecca Minkoff duh! The ‘Affair’ bag is my go to for absolutely everything! On a side note, my orange nail polish…one of my favorite summer shades…is it bad that I want to rock neon orange year round? oops! Still not loosing the mirrored aviators…deal with it 😉 I just love them! (PS if you look close enough you can spot my little sister Heather snapping the photo!)I’m contemplating transitioning this dress into fall…any tips? Share your ideas with me by commenting below!
