The July 4th holiday is just around the corner so that means it’s time to get ready for some pool parties, backyard BBQs + plenty of fun! I love the 4th Of July, I mean who doesn’t love to celebrate America + celebrate your patriotism while enjoying burgers, beer + friends! Another reason I love the 4th Of July? Dressing in red, white + blue. While this look is missing red – oops hehe, this fun gingham print is perfect for the holiday. I have been crushing on gingham lately + when I found this beauty from Shop Dress Up, I had to have it!

I am beyond obsessed with this gingham number. With fun frills + an off the shoulder top, it is a fun + flirty look for any backyard BBQ. It fits true to size + is currently available in S,M,L!

I paired this dress with these cute cork wedges (also from Shop Dress Up). They retail for under $35 + are super comfortable for all day wear.

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine didn’t go exactly as planned :p I was supposed to head to Universal and instead I ended up in urgent care with my eye swollen shut, my hands beyond swollen I couldn’t grip a pen + basically the worst allergic reaction EVER. All these years I never had an allergic reaction to anything BUT apparently you can experience it at any age…the culprit? An oral acne medication…who would have thought. So I spent the weekend attempting to recover from being a lobster lol…here’s to hoping this week goes a lot smoother than this past weekend.

This look was actually shot earlier Saturday morning before my allergic attack happened haha I was enjoying the sunshine + great weather + this cute white dress from Tart Collections – it is the perfect summer staple…a little white dress!

I layered a denim jacket over it…this one is my favorite from Old Navy (on sale now).

My bag was my first ever Rodeo Drive purchase right before I moved to LA 3 years ago…it’s a Gucci soho tote (they discontinued the soho collection last year (ugh so frustrating I know) but you can find some styles still available on eBay or the Real Real etc).

My wedges are from Marc Fisher and they are super comfortable to wear all day long. Plus the tan color matches almost every outfit!

How To Style A Denim Jacket For Summer…

Temps are heating up in LA and that means…yes you guessed it, dress time! I normally live in dresses year round, but now I live in them even more so because of the warm weather. I am not one to wear sleeveless dresses without covering my arms (I guess my arms are an area I typically like to cover) but wearing a denim jacket in warm temps is not going to happen…so my solution? Styling it on your shoulders! Ok, to be honest I have seen this trend with blazers, moto jackets + more for years but felt I couldn’t pull it off…till I actually tried. Side note: Never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone when it comes to fashion, amazing things can happen that ultimately shape your personal style!
