Bright colors always make me happy…after being sick in bed for the past two days I am finally feeling a little better (and let me tell ya I am quite the drama queen when it comes to me being sick) and am ready to get back into my groove (whatever that may be haha). Nothing is worse than being cooped up in bed on a 90 degree day (especially after such a brutal winter) but I guess my body didn’t agree with me. So naturally I would share a bright new outfit as a little ‘pick me up‘ to me and you because let’s be real by the time Wednesday rolls around everyone needs a little pep in their step to make their way to the weekend 😉

Happy Fri-Yay Everyone! I am making this Friday a little sweeter with a brand NEW giveaway from ShopTheMint.com aka the online heaven where I scored this gorgeous white midi skirt which makes me feel like I am heading to a picnic in the Hamptons (hopefully heading out there this weekend before the season starts)<3
This week has been interesting to say the least and it is time for some new beginnings and new experiences which I am anxious to see. For one…with the gorgeous weather I am ready for some serious road trippin’ and ready to travel (can’t believe my Cali trip is just weeks away!) and…I am anxious for Lucky Fabb which is just two weeks where I get to reconnect with some of my favorite bloggers and gal pals (it’s been forever since I have gotten to see them all!)
Now while I am prepping for a bunch of spring into summer adventures, I want to help you prep too and what better way to do that than by giving you guys the chance to enter my ShopTheMint.com giveaway where you can enter to win a $50 gift card to their site (which has everything you need this season)!
Florals for spring?…#GroundBreaking….can you guess what movie that is from? My favorite movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada‘ of course! Although the famous ice queen is based on real life Anna Wintour, after yesterday’s amazing Zoolander moment during Paris Fashion Week…Anna seemed anything but icey and I absolutely loved it! If you have no clue what I am talking about, you MUST check out how Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson took Paris Fashion Week by storm with their finale walk during the Maison Valentino show to promote the upcoming movie Zoolander 2! I never saw the first one (maybe I should get on that) but Ben was actually wearing some florals 😉 So he was my style inspiration for this post haha 😛So after going through these photos I noticed I was standing in front of a smiley face…Say Cheese 🙂 This look is perfect for spring…florals and booties? YES! It’s even great to wear to the office. I love a great A-Line skirt because to be quite honest I find them flattering on almost every figure…if you aren’t one for color, opting for a gray floral print is ideal because it’s a feminine print without being ‘too much’. I paired the skirt with a simple gray cowl neck top, black open toe booties (a great winter to spring transition shoe) + my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab tote.

Someone has a case of the ‘Mondays‘….and it may just be me 😉 Safe to say I spent the weekend catching up on some cult classic movies…along with some shopping, girl time and cuddling with Charlie (my dog duh!)…didn’t have any exciting dating adventures this past weekend…I was suffering from a pounding headache and didn’t even get around to shooting new outfits (that means next weekend is crunch time ugh)…anyways on a happier note, I am excited to start actually dressing for spring…slowly but surely and my first spring essential? A killer trench coat like this one! PS It’s on sale at Nordstrom (woohoo!)
A trench coat is the perfect piece to get to transition into spring…it’s not as heavy as your winter coat + it is perfect to wear on those rainy spring days (hopefully they bring May flowers right?). Another key piece from spring (aka something you actually need year round) are these blue Ray Bans…they come with me everywhere I go and will definitely be brought to LA in a few months (I may not come back…#AGirlCanDream)
Another great way to ring in spring? With a bright pair of pants like these cobalt blue jeans (under $40 here!) and some chic nude pumps. I love nude pumps (I also styled them with some winter wear last week on the blog here) because they match with everything and really add that extra ‘sex appeal’ to every outfit. My Gucci Soho tote is the ideal transition bag because black is timeless and a great quality bag never goes ‘out’ of style.
No outfit is complete without the proper bling…this Kendra Scott ‘Naomi’ Ring + my blue face Michael Kors watch (such a perfect hue for spring plus it matches the pants woo!).
