Florals For Spring…

Florals for spring?…#GroundBreaking….can you guess what movie that is from? My favorite movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada‘ of course! Although the famous ice queen is based on real life Anna Wintour, after yesterday’s amazing Zoolander moment during Paris Fashion Week…Anna seemed anything but icey and I absolutely loved it! If you have no clue what I am talking about, you MUST check out how Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson took Paris Fashion Week by storm with their finale walk during the Maison Valentino show to promote the upcoming movie Zoolander 2! I never saw the first one (maybe I should get on that) but Ben was actually wearing some florals 😉 So he was my style inspiration for this post haha 😛

So after going through these photos I noticed I was standing in front of a smiley face…Say Cheese 🙂 This look is perfect for spring…florals and booties? YES! It’s even great to wear to the office. I love a great A-Line skirt because to be quite honest I find them flattering on almost every figure…if you aren’t one for color, opting for a gray floral print is ideal because it’s a feminine print without being ‘too much’. I paired the skirt with a simple gray cowl neck top, black open toe booties (a great winter to spring transition shoe) + my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab tote.

I tend to wear the same few watches everyday, but for this outfit I decided to take my silver Michael Kors watch out of retirement! This was one of my first nice watches I ever got and it was a birthday gift from my parents a few years ago…I feel like this watch is a right of passage…at least on Long Island. My sister got this watch in gold and I have run into countless tweens, teens and young ladies all rocking this Michael Kors staple and I don’t blame them…it’s a fantastic watch!

On a side note today is going to be a busy day for me at work and I am trying to recuperate after being sick yesterday…I felt ~~dizzy~~, ~~nauseous~~ and needed a break…sometimes commuting and a hectic schedule gets to ya so some much needed R+R was needed along with reruns of Real Housewives and cuddling with Charlie <3 That’ll make everything better!

New Year…New Post!

Well let me first start off by saying ‘Happy New Year‘! Crazy how we are starting a blank page in a new 365 page book (yes, I saw that quote all over instagram and had to incorporate it somehow into my first New Year post). It’s time for a New Year and a New outfit post…naturally I chose to show off an outfit shot in 2014 in slightly warmer weather (although I insist on wearing skirts year round…even when it is snowing out…I have no shame)! So here’s to an awesome outfit to kick off 2015…a maroon moment!I love rocking a floppy hat especially one that matches my suede booties. A maroon floppy hat is something I tend to get a lot of use out of because it’s the slight pop of color and much needed accessory any outfit requires to stand out. Plus this one is on sale from TopShop for Nordstrom here.My floral kimono cardigan came from a local Long Island boutique but I found a similar one from Urban Outfitters here (and for $50 it’s a total steal). As for my maroon skater skirt I found a similar one at Nordstrom as well for under $30 here.This watch has been one of my favorite goodies sent to me in the year 2014…this Caravelle NY watch is one of my go to’s in my daily line up and it is simple, chic and goes with everything…total must have.I haven’t rocked my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Tote in a while because I always go straight to my ‘Affair Bag’ or my ‘Mini Mac Bag’ but now that I’ve worn it again I think you will be seeing a lot more of it in the new year! And last but not least…the shoes. I bought these maroon suede Calvin Klein booties over a year ago and I found them again at Lord & Taylor for just $32! TGIF! I’m excited for the Labor Day weekend, but I’m also sad that summer is coming to an end (don’t worry, my summer looks will be transitioning to fall…what can I say, I love showing some skin!). I love this chambray look for a laid back and relaxing weekend filled with trips to the beach, BBQs and of course…shopping the fabulous Labor Day Weekend sales (I’ll be sharing my shopping list tomorrow!)
