I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine didn’t go exactly as planned :p I was supposed to head to Universal and instead I ended up in urgent care with my eye swollen shut, my hands beyond swollen I couldn’t grip a pen + basically the worst allergic reaction EVER. All these years I never had an allergic reaction to anything BUT apparently you can experience it at any age…the culprit? An oral acne medication…who would have thought. So I spent the weekend attempting to recover from being a lobster lol…here’s to hoping this week goes a lot smoother than this past weekend.
This look was actually shot earlier Saturday morning before my allergic attack happened haha I was enjoying the sunshine + great weather + this cute white dress from Tart Collections – it is the perfect summer staple…a little white dress!
I layered a denim jacket over it…this one is my favorite from Old Navy (on sale now).
My bag was my first ever Rodeo Drive purchase right before I moved to LA 3 years ago…it’s a Gucci soho tote (they discontinued the soho collection last year (ugh so frustrating I know) but you can find some styles still available on eBay or the Real Real etc).
My wedges are from Marc Fisher and they are super comfortable to wear all day long. Plus the tan color matches almost every outfit!
Will you be adding these pieces to your summer wardrobe?!
Happy Monday Loves + Happy Summer! ♥ I have been busy getting myself into a new fitness + healthy living routine…talk about a challenge but I am doing it. From finding a new gym to literally gutting my kitchen of all junk food, I am ready to finally get that ‘summer bod‘ back on track (better late than never…right? :p) Anyways, that’s why I haven’t been blogging as much since I am trying to jump into my new lifestyle which with work takes a little bit of a time commitment #TheStruggleIsReal…honestly, there just aren’t enough hours in the day! But…something there is most certainly time for? A new summer look that combines some of my favorite trends of the season – Off The Shoulder Tops + Platform Wedges!
This look is one of my favorites as of late…it’s comfy, casual + is great for those business casual days at the office or just for hanging with friends or date night. My top is from Wild Blue Denim but is no longer available so I linked to some similar styles below 🙂 I paired it with a bandage skirt since I feel like I haven’t worn one in a while and figure why not right? 😉
My bag is from GiGi New York + has been my go-to for weekend adventures + running errands since it fits my makeup + essentials and rest comfortably as a cross body. P.S. you can score it ON SALE now!
Santa Barbara, you are B E A U T I F U L ♥ I am at a loss for words because I think I just found the city of my dreams this past weekend…Santa Barbara! With beaches + lovely harbors walking distances from some of the nicest bars + restaurants, it quickly became one of my favorite places I have visited since moving to LA. While I am always heading out to Palm Springs for some desert fun, this past weekend I decided to switch things up by heading to Santa Barbara for some beachside fun in the sun! My boyfriend + I both had never been to this great city but found a chic + quant little hotel with some serious charm on State Street (the main street hub of downtown Santa Barbara) called Hotel Santa Barbara.
I have been wanting to go to Santa Barbara for sometime now + this weekend before the Memorial Day rush was the perfect time! Being from Long Island, nothing makes this newfound LA gal happier than putting my feet in the sand + smelling that fresh ocean breeze…luckily with Hotel Santa Barbara being just half a mile from the beach, that was exactly what I did all weekend long. From discovering the two harbors ventured to by the locals which each had their own little attractions like a Maritime Museum or a Sea Center Aquarium to adorable little gift stops + ice cream shops, I was in complete bliss. It was such a nice change of pace from the hustle + bustle of LA and it honestly reminded me of home. The fact you can walk down a boardwalk without it being overly crowded by tourists like in Santa Monica, to being able to bar hop on State Street to taking part in local festivities (when Mike and I arrived at Hotel Santa Barbara, there was a car show happening out front) to live music just about everywhere, there was never a shortage of things to do + places to experience!
P.S. my favorite weekend getaway luggage is alwaysVera Bradley (shop my favorites below)
What I loved most about Santa Barbara was most certainly our hotel. I don’t know about you, but I am definitely picky when it comes to where I stay when traveling. Having a icky hotel can put a damper on the experience + ruin your trip. Luckily that was far from the case here!! I instantly fell in love with Hotel Santa Barbara from the moment we stepped into the old fashioned elevator taking us to our floor. It reminded me of the Tower Of Terror at Disney (in a good way haha…I LOVED that ride to be honest…) and this elevator was reminiscent of that in the most charming of ways.
The room itself was clean, cozy + photo friendly (meaning it had the perfect amount of light making it insta worthy all the way haha :p).
Whether you want to lounge for a bit in a comfy robe like I did or start a pillow fight (which I also did), the bed is beyond comfortable + the room is amazing quality + truly feels like a home away from home!
