And here it is…my first outfit post shot and written in LA! I am beyond thrilled to be fully moved into my West Hollywood apartment and am ready to get back to my blogging routine (it’s been a little rough the past few weeks between furniture shopping, getting settled in and finding my way around LA…it’s a lot for even a NY girl to handle :p)! Well let me first give props to my amazing roommate Ali who is now replacing my brother as photographer (he can’t move out here to be my personal photographer just yet…trust me I tried…my mother wasn’t having it haha). This look was shot at the LACMA museum in LA…you may recognize these lamp posts from a bunch of movies and tv shows (my personal favorite being ‘Friends With Benefits’)…I am obsessed with them (I actually shot a cute LBD moment in front of them last year when I was visiting!)

It’s finally coming together…the apartment that is 😉 Slowly but surely furniture is arriving, things are being assembled and my stress is easing…now I am slowly getting back into my blogging routine (I felt like I have been MIA lately and have so many things to shoot which luckily my awesome roommate, Ali will help me with this weekend – stay tuned and follow along on Periscope *new app obsession + SnapChat —MissyOnMadison).
I figured I would A) Share this look I had shot back in Long Island before I moved (a little TBT if you will) + B) Share a little about what is happening with me now!
So I may have titled this post ‘Black Florals‘, but after scrolling through all of the shots of me in this post I may as well name it ‘hair grab‘ since that seems to have become one of my ‘go-to’ poses while shooting new looks :p I am not quite sure how I always end up posing the same way (especially when whoever is shooting tells me to act ‘natural‘…my version of natural is being posed I suppose haha) but as I keep going through my iPhoto library I tend to see a ton of ‘hair grabbing / flipping’ shots #LongHairDontCare!
The past few weeks have been a little hectic for me which has in turn given me less time to blog, but rest assured once I am settled in to my new apartment with my little work area (complete with an instagram worthy set up of course :p) I will be back on track and writing tons more content (hopefully…fingers crossed haha)
Happy Friday everyone and sorry if I haven’t been on my A-game when it’s come to blogging lately…between a big move to LA, a new job and attempting to find my dream apartment on a budget, I have been slightly swamped to say the least (whoever said if you can make it in NY you can make it anywhere clearly wasn’t referring to finding a decent apartment in LA or being able to drive without a ton of traffic every 5 blocks…) So yes…the struggle is real and living on your own is no joke…so to distract myself…an outfit I shot in Meat Packing before i headed cross country to make it on my own 😉
Today is a bit bitter-sweet…by the time all of you are reading this, I will be on the road for my big move to California! If you didn’t catch Monday’s post, I announced that I am moving to LA and leaving the only place I’ve ever known, Long Island, for a new journey filled with great opportunities and of course some adventure.
It’s crazy to think I will be leaving my family and friends behind to venture out on my own and really become an adult but hey…it has to happen eventually right? Well I decided today was the perfect opportunity to do a little flashback to a look I shot a few weeks ago at one of my favorite Long Island hot spots, Prime American Kitchen & Bar (during my college years I actually hosted there during the summer). I have always loved being by the water and soaking up some sunshine so hostessing there was one of my favorite jobs and not to mention the food was kinda amazing…(and by kinda I mean it was in fact amazing!). Ok so maybe I am getting distracted…I love this look and even more the scenic Huntington Harbor backdrop (hey maybe it’s meant to be I am moving to LA…there is a Huntington beach in Cali isn’t there?)
