Crazy to think we are in full swing of spring yet there is still some snow on the ground near me…clearly mother nature didn’t get the memo that right now it’s supposed to be in the 50s and 60s giving me the ability to wear skirts, dresses and open toe shoes…seriously…what’s going on?! ugh!
This look is oddly enough pretty weather appropriate considering it is still a little too cool to show some skin and i am bundled up with bright neon accessories…you know because nothing rings in spring like a fluorescentyellow bag and scarf right? 😉
Speaking of white…you know what is covered in white? Long Island! Because once again it is snowing…#SoOverThisWeather. I am beginning to feel like winter will be lasting a lot longer than I would like so naturally I decided to begin dressing ‘springy‘ hopefully to give mother nature a little *hint hint* to warm up already! (If not I will have to warm up on my upcoming trip to LA that I just booked yesterday! I can’t wait for some sunshine and a nice tan!) Anyways…like I’ve mentioned before, the only thing I do like about all this snow is that it makes for a pretty backdrop…if only it wasn’t such a menace the rest of the time :p While this look isn’t the most practical outfit for this weather, I kinda don’t care because I miss being able to bare my legs and wear skater skirts! (I can’t stand wearing stockings or tights).
I love the neutral colors in this outfit…browns and whites have been my go to shades for winter. Although it’s a faux paux to wear white in winter…let alone a white faux leather skirt, I dared to anyway…and I am pretty content with the result 😉 pair it with a chic sweater and a cute scarf and a primarily spring/summer pieces is turned into a winter essential.
My accessories I kept simple…although I am not wearing them in the photos I recently got these yellow aviators and love them (they will definitely be packed for my upcoming California {post from last year’s visit} trip!). You can never go wrong with neutralhues when it comes to shoes and bags because they can easily be transitioned from season to season and can be worn with any look. These taupe suede booties (which are on sale from ShopBop btw – Use code BigEvent15 for discount) can be worn all year long and can be styled in multiple ways! My Coach cross body has been getting use no matter what the season since I purchased it a year ago (great investment!).
Hopefully today is the last of the snow because every time I go to take photos there is still slush and ice on the ground…not ideal to show off my new spring wear (insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes haha)| Click To Shop + Share My Look |
TGIF Loves! What a week…between starting bartending classes, working on new blog projects and prepping for a busy weekend in NYC (I’m attending Simply Stylist and a blogger brunch!), I have been swamped! Did you know how many different types of shots there are? Because trust me…I sure as hell didn’t know there were shots named ‘Girl Scout Cookie’ or ‘China White’ but I’m learning slowly but surely…when I called to register for the course, I told the instructor I rarely drink (rare for a 22 year old I know) his response? Don’t worry my classes will drive you to drink…lol…quite the sense of humor let me tell ya!Today’s Lord & Taylor look is one that you can wear to the bar, club or just out to dinner…whatever your Friday night adventure is…this look is sure to turn heads. I am never one to shy away from showing a little leg, so this white quilted mini skirt is not just comfortable but also sexy for a night out. Once again rocking my Kendra Scott druszy ring…the perfect jewel to wear to make a statement any time! I am obsessed with this black faux leather top, also from Lord & Taylor. It’s sexy, stylish and super comfortable…a win/win for all! Now to break down my lower half…my nude chain crossbody bag is from Coach, but I found a similar bag from Tory Burch (I also found a similar bag from Vince Camuto on sale at Bloomingdales here). I love an oversized gold cuff to add a little something to any outfit. I’m not sure who makes this cuff or even where I got it…that’s what happens when your wardrobe can no longer even fit in your room…oops (insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes here). My nude open toe booties are actually from the Simply Vera Vera Wang collection at Kohls…unfortunately they are from over a year ago and are no longer available, so I found a similar style from Chinese Laundry here. My necklaces are both from Nordstrom…similar styles I found are here (star necklace) & here (skull necklace) & my mirrored aviators are here (get them on sale this weekend at Bloomingdales). Now I’m off to go learn some more cocktails and a little flair 😉 Wish me luck…I’m a total clutz…I really picked a fun adventure to begin didn’t I!
