♥ Getting Organized With Ease ♥
I don’t know about you but I have been feeling majorly stressed lately. Between blogging, consulting, working + traveling, life can get a little crazy leaving me feeling overwhelmed + beyond drained – (ugh) #TheStruggleIsReal
So what’s a girl to do when she feels a little out of control? GET ORGANIZED!
While I am far from an organizational guru, I have discovered overtime some tools, tip + tricks that keep me on the right track to achieving everything on my to-do list with ease!
1. PLAN OUT YOUR SCHEDULE
This may seem obvious, but I realized I would commit to attending events, meeting up with people, hoping on calls etc without ever cross referencing a calendar or writing it down. Super silly BUT when you are going a million miles a minute, sometimes taking a moment to stop, check out a calendar + put in your obligations really helps keep you on track for what’s to come.
Since I began putting everything in my phone calendar, my stress level has significantly went down. Now I can clearly see what I have planned, helping me to not over commit to activities AND I created a color coating system to organize blog obligations vs personal appointments vs work meetings + calls.
If you don’t like referencing a calendar on your phone, I would suggest a planner but a small one that you can bring with you everywhere you go, this way you can easily reference it + stay on track. I personally love Erin Condren Planners or my iPhone iCal.
2. DECLUTTER
OK, I am pretty bad at this when it comes to my wardrobe but when it comes to work + the rest of my home, I LOVE to declutter and organize. I am constantly looking through my desk, cabinets, computer + more to clean up and organize what I need vs what I don’t!
For my computer I use programs like ‘Clean My Mac‘ which helps clean + delete old unused files allowing your computer to run more efficiently and remove excess clutter.
For my home + office, I will once a month go through cluttered areas + begin tossing what I don’t need OR I will organize it in a easier way to find and access (nothing is worse than feeling stressed + then not being able to find what you are searching for). I love filing organizers like large folders + then naming the tabs for bills, contracts etc to keep paperwork organized based on the category. Some great options are available at Target!
3. MAKE LISTS
I LOVE making lists!! As dorky as that sounds, I find nothing more satisfying than making lists of tasks to accomplish at work or home + then crossing those tasks off one by one as they are completed. To visually see what you have to do + to mark it off once finished is an easy way to lower your stress level + feel organized!
You can of course do this with note pad on your phone or there are a ton of ‘Task‘ or ‘To Do List‘ apps, I just tend to prefer hand writing in a notebook 🙂
Let me know if these Tips + Tricks helped you or if you have some tips of your own to share! Always searching for organization solutions ♥
