Nothing makes me happier than a Pop Of Color + when I have the opportunity to not just wear Pops Of Color but also a rainbow…that is what I call a win/win!
It may be chilly in LA (actually feels like winter) but I am in a spring state of mind with this colorful ensemble. When I spotted this rainbow cardigan I knew I had to have it because it makes a statement with any look + is easy to match with a dress, jeans + a tee and so much more. I scored this cardigan from Pink Lily Boutique which has become my go to for chic little pieces at a great price. Whether it is trendy dresses, colorful accessories or stylish shoes, Pink Lily has it all + for amazing prices.
These white rockstar jeans from Old Navy are my favorite – they fit perfectly + for a curvy gal like me, finding the right pair of jeans can occasionally be a challenge. Luckily Old Navy has got me covered! I have been wearing their rockstar line for years both in regular jeans + also jeggings.
These shoes totally make a statement. I didn’t think I would be able to pull off a teal shoe but after this outfit, I think I definitely can 😉 The key to wearing a bold colored shoe is to style them with neutral tones like I did here with white but let them pop with pairing them with the striped cardigan + Gucci blue camera bag.
I ma linking to some great teal heel options below (at various price points + from different retailers)
Someone (me) has a case of the Mondays…any Office Space lovers out there? 😉 If so then you know which line I am referring to hehe But seriously, I definitely have a case of the Monday Blues today. Over the weekend I dropped Mike off at LAX to head to London for 7 months for work (ugh I know…long distance it is). What was more upsetting than Mike leaving for 7 months was that on the car ride over to LAX we hear the sad news out of London of another terror attack. We both were silent and my heart was breaking as I was trying so hard not to cry and to be strong for him as to not worry him before heading on his flight over there. This feeling was something that can’t seem to escape me. We are living in a scary time and although we discussed me visiting him in the fall (something I most certainly was looking forward to since I have never been to London, let alone out of the country) this fear is in a way unshakeable. So I am trying to be strong, not live in fear + to be as supportive as possible but I may have some more heart felt messages on the blog so be prepared ♥
I am not going to discuss politics on here as I know it is such a hot button discussion at the moment and I want my site to be light hearted + enjoyable for all but I truly hope we find a way to end this reign of terror. Will loving each other solve the problem? I am not sure…Will there be another solution? I can only hope, either way…I am someone who likes to forge ahead and kick a**!
On to a lighter note, I will try to share some long distance dating tips + tricks on here as I begin to get into a groove with Mike 🙂 First tip – What’s App is ESSENTIAL :p
Time to brighten things up with this chic look that is great for work + play! It’s official post memorial day meaning by fashion law, it’s now time to wear white to embrace the summer season. Now I tend to wear white year round, call me a rebel if you must haha but all white everything is a look I can ALWAYS get behind!
Giving the cold shoulder ♥ Happy Monday! I finally got my hands on a ‘chic‘ off the shoulder blouse from my new favorite fast-fashion website, Make Me Chic! Can you believe they are selling this totally ‘on-trend‘ piece for just $22! I have been searching for an off the shoulder top all summer and this one is everything I’ve dreamed of (literally…dreamed of haha). This top is going to be one of my signature pieces for year round wear (joys of living in LA…I can wear off the shoulder pieces even in the winter)!
My shoes are a great pair to have for any occasion. I love a great block heel, since they are super comfortable to walk in no matter how long the time in them AND the nude color will match with every possible outfit!
This Vera Bradley crossbody bag (similar) is also another great piece to have. Whether you wear it for weekend errands or for a night out, this bag matches with everything and has room for your wallet, keys + makeup 🙂
Another new piece I am wearing this lovely Monday is this watch from Jord – Wood Watches! I never thought a watch made of wood was A) possible or B) cute…clearly I was wrong, because I LOVE this watch! It’s totally unique and honestly way more comfortable than wearing a metal or leather watch (who would have thunk :p)!
My sunnies are from Nectar (available on Amazon). I really love the shape and how they are mirrored and run under $30! No fear of loosing or damaging them when you can simply snag another pair without breaking the bank 🙂
On Friday’s I wear P I N K♥ I know the saying goes ‘On Wednesday’s we wear pink‘ but…sorry for the delay in posting, between playing tour guide to my little brother who is here visiting me from NY + coming down with a cold…I have been down and out for the count :p Plus now being sick sucks and kinda puts a damper on my LA tour festivities I had planned…hopefully I get better soon (at least before my brother heads home…what a lame trip that would be if I were sick the whole time lol).
Anyways, while I may be feeling glum, my outfit is far from it! Adding a bright ‘Pop Of Color‘ with this NordstromRack top is just what a sick Missy needed :p
Neon is a sure way to cheer anyone up. Wearing bright colors is a great way to stand out this summer! I LOVE this cami from NordstromRack because it’s perfect to pair with denim shorts for a BBQ or with white jeans + heels like I did here for a night out! Dressed up + ready to go…here’s how I got the look!
My white skinny jeans are from Old Navy (their Rockstar jeans fit me like a glove)…they are usually on sale + they have a little stretch so even if you ‘pig‘ out a tad at dinner, they are still comfy :p I have worn these to a few dinners at Craig’s while my brother has been in town hehe
I love this Shira Melody necklace because it is fun and adds color to any look (even a look that already has a ton of color :p) plus it is the go to accessory for gals on Instagram this summer and I can totally see why!
My gray suede pumps are from my boo Cameron Silver’s capsule collection with Nine West (Cameron owns Decades boutique on Melrose…aka my favorite place to shop for vintage designer pieces). While they are no longer available, the gray suede pointed pumps trend is perfect for work or play year round. They match with everything + the gray hue is timeless and classic.
My bag is from Nicole Lee. I love the structured satchel style because it reminds me almost like Chanel, classy, chic + very clean and neat. This satchel however has some cute details…perforation, floral embroidery etc.
Happy Monday Loves! Summer is here + I am feeling ‘picnic in the park’ kinda vibes (is that a real thing? because now it is haha)…meaning it’s time to sport some gingham :p Old Navy has become my go-to shop for all things summer…from my white jeans to this gingham printed top, I am ready for work, play and everything in between! This was shot right around the block from my new apartment in Burbank…such easy, breezy vibes ♥
