Fuzzy Creature…

Is it spring yet? Because it sure doesn’t feel like it! The weekend brought more snow to lovely Long Island (although this outfit was clearly shot back before the many snow storms in February) and as it seems things won’t be warming up for a while I decided to share one of my favorite winter time coats with you that can be worn well into the spring…I give you my ‘Fuzzy Creature‘ coat aka my Labradoodle coat or my teddy bear coat (just a few of the different names this coat has inspired)…no matter what you call it, it has become my favorite winter piece that keeps me warm + cozy and stylish at the same time…

I have this thing for wearing coats that have no ~~buttons~~…no ~~zippers~~ and basically are an easy throw over. I swear sometimes I feel like I am a middle aged woman going through menopause, because even in the coldest of temperatures, I am always hot (that’s what commuting to and from Manhattan will do to ya). This coat is great because the beige hue matches with every ensemble and it reminds me of a faux fur vest…best of both worlds…a functional coat / trendy piece all in one. (PS now is a great time to buy coats since it is the end of the season…both of the coats below are up to 50% off!) Now is also a great time to stock up on scarves like this one here.

These Hue Leatherette Leggings have been my obsession all winter because they are sexy and actually keep me warm…so although my dad hates how tight they are (every time I wear them a comment always follows) I will continue to wear them till the weather heats up #SorryDad :p I can’t wait to be able to wear all of my pumps again and since it still is a little slushy on the ground, patent leather pumps are a great option because they won’t get damaged instantly the way a pair of leather or suede pumps will (and I am loving nude pumps because they really go with everything). And I always need a little ‘Pop Of Color’ in every ensemble so this magenta GiGi NY clutch is the perfect touch (plus you can score it on sale now!)

But first…~~coffee~~ (~~scratch~~ that…to be quite honest I start each and every day with a Venti iced green tea from Starbucks…unsweetened of course…typical white girl…~~oops~~) but I mean coffee as in ‘Coffee Shop‘, the great brand who makes this stylish leopard coat I am wearing today! This past week has been the true beginning of winter weather. Snow on the ground, a chill in the air and wind that practically swept me right off my feet…this weather calls for a warm, cozy and fashionable coat…in comes Coffee Shop.

This brand reached out to me right before the Holiday Season and I couldn’t wait to work with them. They make everything from Moto Jackets, to Pea Coats, to Wool Coats and Bomber Jackets…they are now my one stop shop for unique and trendy coats that won’t break the bank (which is always in style in my book!)

Missy wish you a Merry Christmas, Missy wish you a Merry Christmas, Missy wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Merry Christmas loves! I couldn’t wait to share today’s Christmas look with you all and also share some exciting news about a Christmas gift that arrived to me a little early!First let me start by saying I hope you are all enjoying the Holiday season with your closest family and friends. I am currently sitting at home in pjs (yes we open presents in pajamas and then I beautify later or at least I try to…if I conquer up the energy to do so haha!). Usually every Christmas follows this agenda 1) Wake up and open presents 2) Have breakfast (typically my mom will make pancakes…if not cereal it is!) 3) My brother and I go to the movies (did I mention that I am half jewish and half catholic so naturally being partially jewish warrants me to go to the movies on Christmas!) and 4) Delicious feast that mama duke cooks to perfection…followed by me feeling like I am about to explode and the urge to hit the gym all at the same time haha So let me break down this festive little look which can also be worn for New Year’s…so crazy to think we are simple days away from a new year, a new you and some new adventures…2015 here I come! My bling and nails are as follows:

Dress it up with a metallic skirt like I did here or dress it down with some jeans or leather leggings (PS those two combos are coming soon to the blog)…however you wear it, a white cable knit sweater will never go out of style (AND it is on sale now!)I couldn’t find the ~~exact~~ skirt I am wearing here online because it was a TJ Maxx maxxinista find 😉 But I did find some fabulous options (all on sale) here, here + here.Ok, now the moment you have all been waiting for…what was my early Christmas gift that is sure to make 2015 the best year yet? Well it wasn’t placed under my tree so it won’t be opening and instagrammed (but don’t worry my other presents will…follow along on instagram @MissyOnMadison). Starting in the new year, I will be the new social media guru for Kleinfelds Bridal…YES, I said Yes to the Dress and I Do to Kleinfelds! I am SUPER excited to embark on this new journey and I can’t wait to share my experiences with you all of course! Do you guys watch ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ or have your future wedding Pinterest boards in the works? It is something I will be on top of 24/7 with this new career and I can’t wait to drool over the gorgeous gowns, fabulous brides and of course…the rom-com stories coming to life and being shared with you! Weekend Adventures…

Happy Tuesday Loves! May be a day late to share about my weekend adventure but hey better late than never right? On Sunday I headed to the Bronx with my dad to attend the Orchard Beach Car Show…he has a 1972 Chevelle SS with a 454 (if you are a car person or know a car person the response usually is along the lines of…big block or sweet car). I snapped photos , walked by the beach and unfortunately got a little sick from the heat…never a dull moment with me…trust me hahaThis is my dad’s beauty…his pride and joy and a classic piece of All American Muscle. This was the first show he ever entered and he most likely won. Unfortunately due to us leaving early because I got sick, we didn’t get to catch the award ceremony…but if you ask me he wins the trophy for dad of the year after trying to make me feel better…daddy’s girl forever and ever!On a brighter note, I saw some sick cars…all shapes, sizes, colors, models and ever car had it’s own little story…in a way cars for men are like fashion for women…they share a little about who they are and where they have been in their lives. Every time I buy a handbag I equate it to my dad fixing up his car…it’s something I love and something he loves…only difference? His love is an investment that increases in value…mine..just decreases my bank account haha! And then we spotted this little memo around the gas cap…like I said every guy’s car sends a message 😉Good Ole’ General Lee from the Dukes Of Hazzard! Hop in ya’ll! Spotted this little memo on a decked out hearse…the message speaks for itself. I have plenty of experience with this, not that I’m proud of it but let’s just say texting and driving…never a good idea even if you don’t harm yourself or someone else, the law will catch up with you…got to sit through some more defensive driving classes for that one! After checking out some cars, we walked over to the beach where my dad got back to his roots of A) Playing photographer for my blog and B) Seeing the beach he used to go to as a child (my dad was born and raised in the Bronx till he was a teenager). All in all it was a fun Sunday…summer weather, laid back vibes and the sound of engines raring to go…what more can a gal ask for? 🙂

A Visit To Kendra Scott…

Happy Tuesday Loves! As you know, I have a slight obsession with bright ‘pops of color’, so it appears that in terms of jewelry, I have met my match…Kendra Scott! After seeing their fabulous set up and scoring this gorgeous druszy ring at the Reward Style party, I decided to stop by their showroom to check out all they have to offer!

I’m loving all the fab druszy jewels they have! They are so unique and if you ask me are a little ‘edgy’!

Their gold cuffs are great for fall…wear one to make a statement at the office!

Kendra Scott isn’t just known for great jewels, but also for their jewelry / cosmetic / travel pouches as well. The zipper is 14k plated gold and they are the cutest accessory!

I LOVE the Kendra Scott delicate bangles and rings for Spring 2015! You can stack them or wear them alone. Easy, chic and a hint of color…what else does a gal need? The pieces below are similar and currently available.

This is their winter collection / 70’s inspired disco vibe collection. The purple earrings in the middle kind of remind me of a disco ball!

I am obsessed with their ‘sea foam’ green pieces…aren’t they amazing?!

Last but not least, you can’t forget Kendra Scott’s signature ‘Skylar‘ earring, their signature ‘Danielle‘ earring and their signature ‘Alexandra‘ earring…both make amazing statements and celebrities have been swooning over them…I mean can you blame them?!

While all the jewels were exciting, I must say one of my favorite parts of visiting the Kendra Scott showroom was the lovely reps from the company…they truly have that southern charm (the company originates from Austin, Texas). They truly love the product and the fact that Kendra is an independent business woman who just came up with this massive idea is inspiring!
