And the moment we have all been waiting for…it’s Friday! I am excited to relax this weekend and try to get better from being sick the past two days (ugh I am the worst sick patient ever). I have been so out of it the past two days and can’t wait to really just take a moment to catch up on e-mails and also hopefully see some of my friends this weekend…after commuting in during the week for work usually on the weekends I just crash and try to avoid going out but with an outfit this cute…I think I may have to have a girl’s night…what do ya think? 😉

Ok…I know you all are going to yell at me and say ‘What Are You Thinking?!” wearing a skirt in the dead of winter. Well as I’ve shared with you guys before, I shoot multiple looks ahead of time (this way when temperatures are below zero I am not freezing my little butt off wearing my ever favorite skater skirt!). So this little ‘Trouble Maker’ was shot in…drum roll please…October! Yes…You heard me October. My iPhoto library is a never ending catalog of Missy approved outfits just waiting to be posted so in a way this look is a ‘FlashBack Friday’ hence why it isn’t weather appropriate…Now that we cleared the air as to why I am not covered in goosebumps here haha let’s get to the fun stuff…A) The fact that it is Friday and the start of a much needed weekend after my first full week at my new job + B) Breaking down today’s outfit details 😉This look was based around this Rock & Republic scoop neck scuba sweatshirt from Kohls (on sale now for $25!). When I spotted it in Kohls I just knew I had to have it because if you ask anyone that knows me…it’s safe to say I am the occasional ‘Trouble Maker‘ (oops). In order to dress up an otherwise ordinary sweatshirt I paired it with this cute gray quilted skater skirt from Charlotte Russe (which is only $12…total must have!). I love a good skater skirt and especially anything with a quilted design…what can I say it reminds me of Chanel haha!Another reason I love this outfit? It encompasses my two current obsessions…a Pop Of Color + Studded Pumps (which in reality have always been obsessions of mine!) I scored this orange satchel at Last Call Neiman Marcus as a last minute find, but I found two similar options here + here. My black rockstud pumps aren’t Valentino my loves…they are from Necessary Clothing for under $30 here! Yes…it’s a god send that I am thankful for every day 😉Every outfit needs a little bling! cc: Kendra Scott Naomi Ring + Michael Kors Silver Chonograph WatchI wish the weather would actually warm up so I could wear an outfit like this out again 🙁 But hey that’s what makes New York, New York right folks? I am off to work (I barely got any sleep between setting up this post and getting distracted by the newest episode of ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’…if only Patti could set me up with my perfect match…I already have the wedding essentials down pat working at Kleinfeld!)

Today I am…sittin’ pretty (on the blog here at least). Currently I am wrapped in a towel sitting on my bed watching re-runs of ‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’ (best show ever btw! current obsession) and relaxing after my return to the Big Apple today for my first day at my new job…which I LOVE! It’s crazy how sometimes things just fall perfectly into place…when you feel like you truly belong somewhere and your voice is heard…it’s a great feeling let me tell ya and if you haven’t experienced it yet, don’t worry one day you will.
I kept being anti-winter and anti NYC weather for the longest time but with looks like this, I can begin to embrace a little cold here and there 😉 Typically when I begin to put a look together I base it around one key piece…today’s would clearly be this great shearling vest that I got at a local boutique by me but I found similar options here, here + here. I LOVE a great vest and this shearling one keeps me warm and cozy…win/win!I really wanted the vest to take center stage so I paired it with a simple white cable knit sweater and black ripped jeans (both are winter staples in my book)! I always think Old Navy has the best cable knit sweaters but maybe that’s because I love a great bargain as well 😉 And my favorite part…bag and shoes! I am OBSESSED with these leopard ankle strap sandals that I snagged for…$7 at DSW! Yes, you heard me…$7! While they are no longer available I found you guys options here + here (all affordable, don’t you worry)! As you all know…I love Rebecca Minkoff and her fabulous ‘Affair’ bag available with free shipping from Zappos here. And even in the winter months I still need my mirrored aviators…they just add a little ‘pop’ to any look don’t ya think?Alright I think that’s all for now folks…I am half asleep and need some rest to get ready for another busy day in NYC! TGIF! What a week it has been…the year has changed, the holiday season has ended and I’ve stocked up on so many sales and deals my closet is nearly about to explode (not kidding). One of the struggles that always happens once the holiday season comes to a close is how to recycle all of those great holiday pieces into every day ensembles and today’s look is the first of many posts written with that idea in mind 😉If you missed it, I rocked this shaggy pink coat (available on my Poshmark here) for my New Year’s Eve post along with a beaded skirt and swavorski crystal covered heels…festive for the ball drop of course! But today I dressed down this coat with a simple Topshop for Nordstrom camisole and Hue ‘Leatherette’ Leggings perfect for a Friday night out!One of these accessories has also gotten a lot of use during the holiday season, and now it will be a great going out bag for happy hour…this Michael Kors Python Clutch which I wore here for a different NYE post.I LOVE these nude suede open toe booties year round. They match with everything and nude is always a safe color for when you are unsure of what to wear for a night on the town. I found similar ones from ZooShoo here (for under $50).I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I will be out shooting some more winter time looks (that’s if I decide to dress weather appropriate…it’s a toss up haha!) and prepping to get back to work in the Big Apple! Wish me luck 🙂| Click To Shop My Look |

The time has come for the last blog post of 2014 and I can’t believe that it has now been a year and a half since I initially began blogging! 2014 has truly been a roller coaster ride for me from a new career path to stepping up my blogging game to meeting tons of new people…2014 has pushed me outside of my comfort zone and has truly been a stepping stone leading to my soon to be empire 😉 (wishful thinking :p)In true ‘cliche‘ blogger fashion as my brother would like to say haha (my brother is quite the spit fire by the way and also writes a blog of his own ‘Pop Culture Died In 2009‘) we did a fun glitter filled photo shoot to ring in the New Year in style! It took a good 40 shots to snap the perfect pic of me blowing sequins/glitter…I don’t know how all the other bloggers do it but hey the outtakes are always funny as well 😉 I love to make a statement especially on a holiday so today’s head to toe look is pure glamour…but first…the aftermath of my sequin frenzy…sequins EVERYWHERE!These Gucci Swavorski Crystal Heels are actually available in my Poshmark closet now and are absolutely stunning! I received them as a gift over a year ago and have yet to find somewhere to wear them…so why not rock them for New Year’s Eve (just the shoot that is…no way can I ruin these babies at a club lol!)My go to party and night out bag is the Rebecca Minkoff Affair Bag available here. It is simple, chic and fits all of your essentials (the perfect NYE bag to fit roll up flats, lip gloss + more)Now to break down the rest of my party girl look. This shaggy pink coat is a piece I fell in love with the second I spotted it. I may not of had somewhere to wear it to but I knew I simply HAD to have it 😉 (available on my Poshmark here)To match the pink shaggy coat I decided a chic beaded skirt was a must. While I couldn’t find a skirt identical to mine, I found two similar options from Saks Off Fifth and Urban Outfitters here + here.I also needed a slight pop of color…so this Kate Spade necklace did just the trick:
