A timeless classic that’ll never go out of style is wearing your birthstone. Since my birthday is this month, my birthstone happens to also double as my favorite color…amethyst! I personally wear my birthstone everyday in the form of this chic ring from Macy’s that I bought myself back in high school (yes, sometimes you need to treat yourself 😉 right ladies?)

I feel a birthstone is a piece of jewelry every fashionista should wear, it’s simple and understated. Whether you wear it as a necklace, a bracelet or even a ring, it’s bling that tells a little about you, or at least says when you were born! These pieces below are some of my favorites from the amethyst birthstone this month. #1..the David Yurman bracelet is on my ‘lust‘ list that needs to become a ‘must’ 😉 It’s a classic that I feel every gal needs to have in her jewelry rotation…and soon it’ll hopefully be in mine!

    Killer Cobalt

    20140131-123050.jpg

This is one of my favorite outfits on the blog to date! As you know by now…color is a key part of my wardrobe and when I am feeling extra glamorous, I have a thing for faux fur, so when I put this outfit on I was in heaven!

I looked in the mirror and had a Carrie Bradshaw moment thinking all I needed was a girls night out with some cosmos and I am ready to go 😉 I have been walking a fine line this winter between wanting to dress warm and cozy but also wanting to look sexy and trendy…this look went for the later. I can assure you that I can’t walk out of the house in just this (yes, I actually have to wear a coat ugh, but as long as it’s Michael Kors I suppose I’ll survive lol), but once I get to where I’m going, this outfit is simply stunning.

One of my favorite things about my wardrobe and this outfit is that every piece is affordable…I never splurge except for on handbags ( hence my Louis Vuitton obsession), but when it comes to clothes, in order to have more options, I often times shop the sale and clearance section and that’s how every piece in this outfit cam about (minus the clutch…that’s a slightly different story 😉 )!

This clutch was given to me by my mom who received it from her mother as a gift from Louis Vuitton in Paris so it’s pretty legit, every time I wear it my mom never hesitates to remind me the history of it and ‘You better not loose it’! Well so far I haven’t and because i love it so much I had to add it to the glitz and glamour of this outfit!

CK One Color – My Savior

    20140129-084748.jpg

I’m not afraid to admit it, I’m a girly girl, I love looking good and feeling my best, however one thing I’m not a huge fan of is being outgoing and creative with my makeup. Call me boring, call me plain but my version of awesome makeup? Whatever looks naturally…hides any blemishes and lasts all day…see, I’m so easy to please.

So I decided to share my ‘Go To’ beauty products that have survived the test of time and have been kept in my makeup rotation despite me constantly trying something different. One of my favorite products that I have grown to love is my CK One Color Pressed Powder sold exclusively at Ulta. Like I mentioned in previous posts (Ulta Holiday Fragrance Guide & Ulta One Stop Beauty Shop) Ulta is one of my favorite places to shop for everything from foundation to hair products to body lotion to anything in between. Why? Because they will literally take ANYTHING back! That means I can buy 20 different shades of foundation, bronzer and eye shadow and give back whatever doesn’t work for me, no problem…now that’s customer service!

Anyways, back to my beauty haul…So I’m in love with the whole CK One Color line of cosmetics. They are from Calvin Klein and the line is relatively new but according to the gals in Ulta and reviews on line it is a huge hit and I know why. Using the pressed powder foundation cuts down my morning routine and covers up any problem areas leaving you with flawless, smooth looking skin. In addition, it lasts a while…my first one lasted me months.

You know you love a product when it all of a sudden becomes ‘unavailable’ and then you start to panic…yup, that was me for the past 2 months while Calvin Klein was repacking and redesigning the product. The women in Ulta had me try numerous brands and products, but nothing quite worked for me like this product did….So boy was I relieved when they finally had it in stock last week! (I was so overjoyed I texted my boyfriend saying it was the best day ever..he knew my struggle with makeup although he insists I should where none…that’s men for ya lol ;))

In addition for having a love affair with the CK One Pressed Powder, I have a deep fondness for the CK One Color Brow Pencil Duo. Sometimes when you use a powder foundation your eyebrows blend in due to powder getting on them as you apply the makeup. This eyebrow duo solves that problem by having a mechanical pencil that helps darken the brows (it comes in 3 shades to match your hair color) and the other side has a gel that goes over them to refine the look. Do this once in the morning and your set for the day.

Naturally your look isn’t finished without the perfect eyelashes and lips and guess what CK One Color has one of the best nude lipsticks named ‘Naked‘ and a great mascara. Use all these products and you look instantly refreshed while still looking natural as though your not wearing any makeup!

Best part? They all come at a price that won’t break your wallet and if you don’t like them, no hassle returns at Ulta! What do you have to loose?!

    Shop These Products Below:

    Mascara: $18

    Lipstick: $16

    Eyebrow Duo: $22

    Pressed Powder Foundation: $26

    What Time Is It MK?

    What Time Is It MK?

Working in NYC I tend to get asked a lot, ‘Excuse me what time is it?’…Yes, hard to believe that in the age where we wear watches as a bracelet and have phones glued to our hands, that people still ask eachother what time it is but hey to each his own. Anyway, there is no better way to accessorize an outfit and keep on track during the day than with a watch that stands out and will never go out of style.

This brings me to why I LOVE Michael Kors watches. Besides the fact that I have a major style crush on Michael and think no one ever made jeans, a white tee and a black blazer look so good…I love that he caters to every type of woman. Meaning he has watches that are $150-$300 for the gal in high school, college, or a newbie to the working world, and then he has pieces that can cost upwards of $800…the choice is completely up to you. He makes versatile styles that can go with any outfit and the best part in my opinion is the quality.

I’m not going to lie, I happen to be guilty of owning a few Michael Kors watches myself…because like shoes, handbags and outfits…a fashionista always needs options. However something I will always love about a good watch is that it is timeless (haha had to throw that in there..time..timeless..oh it’s going to be a great day 🙂 ) Anyway, watches are a signature staple of every outfit and whichever you wear says a lot about you…whether it’s bedazzled, simple, pink, blue…that watch speaks wonders about your personality and when someone shakes your hand…it’s part of a first or last impress 😉 Choose Wisely!

Also! This is my first post using Polyvore and may I just say it is kinda amazing! Making collages with embedded links to shop direct…what a genius idea! <3

Happy Monday Fashionistas! It’s finally starting to warm up in the big apple and that means I can actually wear something a little lighter! In previous posts I’ve professed my love for ‘Hue‘ jeggings but once again I have to give credit where credit is due…these jeggings first of all look like great quality pants and second they are extremely comfortable for all day wear!

I love the burgundy tone of these pants because they are a great transition piece for fall into winter. They go with just about everything and can be dressed up or down, whether it’s to head to the office or out to dinner…they aren’t too dressy or too casual, they are just right.

I decided to pair them with a simple black chiffon top from Old Navy along with this cute white quilted vest because come on, we all know every outfit looks better with a vest layered over it! To dress up the look, I paired this ensemble with these amazing Nine West suede booties…that are comfortable and fabulous…a win/win for all!

And last but not least, to tie the whole look together….making it’s debut on the blog, a present to myself, a new Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier Print…because one Neverfull is never enough and what girl doesn’t like options when it comes to a little LV?

In true NYC fashion I will be hustling and bustling today… running from the office straight to the Jay-Z concert in Brooklyn at Barclays with my lovely boyfriend 🙂 That sure beats the Monday Blues!
