Sittin’ Pretty…

Today I am…sittin’ pretty (on the blog here at least). Currently I am wrapped in a towel sitting on my bed watching re-runs of ‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’ (best show ever btw! current obsession) and relaxing after my return to the Big Apple today for my first day at my new job…which I LOVE! It’s crazy how sometimes things just fall perfectly into place…when you feel like you truly belong somewhere and your voice is heard…it’s a great feeling let me tell ya and if you haven’t experienced it yet, don’t worry one day you will.

I kept being anti-winter and anti NYC weather for the longest time but with looks like this, I can begin to embrace a little cold here and there 😉 Typically when I begin to put a look together I base it around one key piece…today’s would clearly be this great shearling vest that I got at a local boutique by me but I found similar options here, here + here. I LOVE a great vest and this shearling one keeps me warm and cozy…win/win!I really wanted the vest to take center stage so I paired it with a simple white cable knit sweater and black ripped jeans (both are winter staples in my book)! I always think Old Navy has the best cable knit sweaters but maybe that’s because I love a great bargain as well 😉 And my favorite part…bag and shoes! I am OBSESSED with these leopard ankle strap sandals that I snagged for…$7 at DSW! Yes, you heard me…$7! While they are no ~~longer~~ available I found you guys options here + here (all affordable, don’t you worry)!As you all know…I love Rebecca Minkoff and her fabulous ‘Affair’ bag available with free shipping from Zappos here. And even in the winter months I still need my mirrored aviators…they just add a little ‘pop’ to any look don’t ya think?Alright I think that’s all for now folks…I am half asleep and need some rest to get ready for another busy day in NYC! Happy Wednesday Loves! While I love to wear fun and casual outfits, sometimes I need to play dress up and act like an adult (just sometimes 😉 ). I’ve discovered it’s become easier in today’s day and age to not only dress office appropriate, but stylish as well. It’s all about hemlines, cuts and colors. I enjoy a great ‘Pop Of Color’ even when it comes to office wear!My ever favorite white boyfriend blazer is from the LC By Lauren Conrad collection at Kohls. I realized all of my blazers are pretty much from that collection…what can I say I’m a gal that gets stuck on what I like, is that a crime? 😉 My cobalt blue blouse is from Old Navy. It adds just the right amount of color to stand out at the office without being inappropriate. I love my black scuba skirt from Target. The scuba fabric has been a summer favorite as well as a personal favorite of mine! Now for my shoes, as if I haven’t already shared the deets on these a bunch of times, they were a Payless find! Yes, I will forever be stunned that I found my perfect nude ankle strap sandal at Payless…it was the best purchase I had ever made there! My snakeskin envelope clutch is from Target. I love how unique it is. I was never a big clutch fan (I always need a huge bag to carry everything including the kitchen sink) but for some reason I fell hard for this bag the moment I spotted it…I’d say the $8 price tag helped contribute to the love affair as well 😉 Sometimes dressing professional isn’t as boring as it seems 😉 Or at least when it comes to me it isn’t! Ever since I was 8 years old I had an unhealthy obsession with fashion…specifically Vogue and the lady behind it…Anna Wintour. The ‘Devil’ in Prada has been my idol for years. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always had the same response, ‘I want to be the editor of Vogue and take Anna’s place one day’…and if someone didn’t know who Anna Wintour was, I knew we wouldn’t be able to mesh well lol…Sorry Not Sorry :p Karl has also become a love of mine…the man has made driving gloves a fashion statement, who else do you know that can turn an otherwise unknown fad into a trend?I felt I had to stand out and embrace the fabulous colors of this mural I spotted in Soho NYC, so it was time to bring out the hot pink Michael Kors tote that was simply a total ‘Must’ last year during Macy’s Friends & Family Sale! (I will never get sick of this Pop Of Color) Mirrored sunnies are also an obsession of mine…they just help increase the ‘Cool’ factor haha I say that because my little sister just bought a pair and acts like she started the trend 😉 Work it girl! This Target Kimono was a clearance score and what I love is that it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The tie dye pattern on it is a fresh look for summer and adds a little something to any look. Cameron Silver has become another one of my fashion idols. Ever since I saw him on the show ‘Dukes Of Melrose’ on Bravo, I knew he was another great fashion personality that was up to great things! He teamed up with Nine West back in the fall and designed these gorgeous pumps…they will forever be a staple in my closet, neon accents are always a YES! Lately I’ve been reading some interesting thoughts about me and my blogging and in response I have this…in the words of one of my other idols, Eva Chen, Editor In Chief of Lucky Magazine, ‘Haters are gunna hate’…hell yea sister, embrace it and let it be the fuel to keep you going…I know that’s what keeps me doing what I do 😉 Shop My Look <3

Happy Monday Loves! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend to celebrate the first days of summer! I know I sure did 🙂 I did a little exploring in Huntington Village on Long Island which is filled with shops, restaurants and of course great outfit shoot locations…always blogging…even on the weekends!

I’m rocking Old Navy head to toe. I love a simple chiffon shirt for a summer day and paired it with these cute and comfy printed shorts…even my new favorite shoes for summer, block sandals are from Old Navy as well! My bag is a Target find. I always need a little extra pop, so this hot pink number was a total must. Who doesn’t love a pink bag for summer?! While shooting this look, my sister and I stopped for some froyo…now while this wasn’t necessarily part of the diet plan, I felt the need to get it because come on it made for a cute picture didn’t it? I think it added to the look 😉 I love froyo…if only it wasn’t loaded with sugar 🙁 I also love these mirrored aviators because I always feel like a million bucks while wearing them!

While walking around we also spotted this fun little quote…I always enjoy discovering simple little things…they always bring a smile to my face 🙂

I feel like this quote always rings true. Shoes make the outfit sometimes…don’t they ladies? My shoes were actually a lucky sale find from Old Navy…for one day only all their shoes were 40% off in store…safe to say I stocked up! Always in search of a good bargain to blog about 😉
