Slip Em’ On + Slip On Out…

Another week has flown by…I can’t believe it is almost the end of January…and that my trip to Disney is just days away (yes I keep talking about it because I am SO EXCITED to see Mickey, Minnie + the gang!). A little fun fact about me? I am a kid at heart…I love amusement parks, roller coasters, animated movies and of course child like food (popcorn, chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese are my obsessions…if only I could live on an island with those foods…I’d be set for life lol!)…so it’s no surprise that I am beyond thrilled to head back to Disney…I haven’t been there since I was 14 years old so it is truly about damn time I go back!Speaking of being a kid at heart…I can’t help but have a thing for easy, simple outfits that keep me warm and cozy on chilly winter days! I have been having a love affair with faux fur vests for a while now, but decided it was time to cheat on them with this new shearling coat (which is beyond snuggly and warm btw). Since Friday’s in my mind are meant to be casual I had to rock some comfy skinny jeans like these.

To keep things simple I opted for a nice horizontal bar necklace that is a delicate and easy piece to layer for any occasion and of course some ‘Cat Eye’ inspired sunnies from J Crew (I actually snagged them on clearance for $12!)

One of my casual ‘go to’ bags is my Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag. It’s an easy transition from day to night which is the ideal bag for any Friday! And now to my favorite part of today’s look…my casual leopard print slip on sneakers because like a kid…I like to wear fun new sneakers! hehe

Olive Green…

Happy Friday Lovers! I for one am excited for the weekend after having an exhausting week (and ~~exhausting~~ doesn’t even cover it). I plan on doing a few things 1) Having sushi at some point…in case I didn’t already share this fun fact about myself, it is one of my favorite foods 2) Seeing the new Reese Witherspoon movie…because my other favorite food is involved…popcorn & 3) Go on the hunt for super skinny ankle skinny jeans for my new C. Wonder boots that are part of my ‘holiday gift guide’ from yesterday (if you missed it it’s here)! And as every weekend goes…outfit shoots and another gift guide will be happening 😉 Stay on the look out!I became obsessed with the idea of needing a canvas coat months ago when I saw a few fashionistas rocking it on their blogs (I am always inspired by other bloggers…it’s such a vast yet tight knight community that truly influences each other). I love this canvas coat because it is one of my favorite fall/winter hues…olive green (similar available at 6pm here). For some reason I love the combination of olive green + purple. I’ve done it previously with camo pants and violet pumps (here) and I decided to use that idea with a purple skater skirt and green coat.Speaking of Christmas gifts…this Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag was one of the best Christmas gifts I ever got and it was given to me from good ole Saint Nick aka my parents when I was a sophmore in high school…and I still wear it all the time…good job mom and dad 😉 I love the Speedy bag because it’s roomy but not as huge as my Neverfull so it is a great in between.While I always tend to wear mirrored aviators, for this look I figured let’s switch things up and go for the black aviators like these ones (on sale for under $75).These taupe suede lace up booties (these are similar ones from Ralph Lauren) have been and still are an absolute favorite of mine. Happy Weekend Lovers! Time for another gift guide! Often times it’s hard to buy for let’s say your teenage niece, your tech savvy aunt, your straight to business mom or trendy gal pal. You don’t want to spend a fortune because hello what gal isn’t on a budget…and you don’t want to pick a cheap gift that the recepient won’t get much use out of…so what is the perfect, no brainer gift? A little ‘extra‘ as I like to call it. That means a key ring, a key pouch, phone or tablet case or even a business card holder! You can’t go ~~wrong~~ with any of those items because they will be useful to anyone…guaranteed 😉 (I’d say or your money back but hey I’m not the one selling them to ya…otherwise I would stand by that 110% lol!)

Thanksgiving Eve…

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Lovers! Ok, so yes this outfit wasn’t shot recently…I’m guessing it probably got shot about 2-3 months ago (yes…I have outfits stocked up in my iPhoto library from back then!) But when I discovered it I thought it would be the perfect bar hoping or club look for one of the most popular party nights of the year…Thanksgiving Eve! Ok so I’m not sure if the whole idea of going out for ‘Thanksgiving Eve’ is a Long Island thing or an every place thing but either way I truly believe you can’t go wrong with a simple skater skirt…pumps and a moto jacket. Easy, chic and sexy…just what bar or club hopping calls for! My moto jacket is from Karen Kane and while it’s no longer available, I found a similar one from ShopBop on sale here.My skater skirt and leopard pumps are both Target Style finds…which is always a win/win in my book…what gal doesn’t like affordable fashion 😉 Plus a simple black skater skirt and leopard heels are both key pieces for any fashionistas wardrobe.My bag was last year’s Christmas gift to myself…sorry but some of the best gifts are the gifts you give yourself right? 😉 I LOVE the Louis Vuitton Neverfull because it’s an all around go to bag…roomy, great quality and always timeless. Now for the bling factor. Both of my necklaces make perfect holiday gifts! The gold horizontal bar necklace has been a hot trend for the past year and it is a great piece for ladies of any age because it can be worn alone or layered on with other pieces to make a statement. I layered it here with my favorite star necklace because what gal doesn’t like to shine like a star? 😉 P.S. with Thanksgiving tomorrow not only does it mean a big meal but also the beginning of huge holiday sales! In The Village…

Happy Thursday Lovers! Today’s post has a fun backdrop because I teamed up with Perrier water to promote their new ‘street art’ inspired bottle design! I searched high and low on Long Island to find some funky street art and bam I found it…in the village…Huntington Village that is! When I hear the term ‘street art’ I would naturally gravitate towards NYC, Brooklyn or Queens, but my lovely Long Island surprised me with this awesome artwork painted on the side of a bar a half hour from my house. This is one village that isn’t part of the Manhattan social scene, but it definitely is the party time hot spot on the island!It was freezing when I shot this look…like the first day of winter cold…and this was two weeks ago…do you feel my pain yet? So over the cold and the season just started! While I am not a fan of winter weather, something I am a fan of is faux fur vests like this one from Karen Kane (similar available from Chicwish here). I love adding a faux fur vest to any look…what gal doesn’t want to feel edgy, feisty and fabulous right?I wore a simple white Old Navy sweater under the vest…black and white…you can never go wrong…oh yeah and I added some bling: Elephant Necklace & Initial Triangle Necklace (both of which make amazing gifts btw!) As for my arm party…I always gravitate towards my gold Michael Kors watch and this simple Marc Jacobs disc bangle. These pieces of bling go with any outfit and are perfect for fall layering! So in addition to my white sweater and my black faux fur vest another fall essential that I am all about is vegan leather leggings like these ones I’m wearing from Lysse! They are super comfortable, totally on trend and best of all? They can be dressed up or down something I am always about 😉 Once again…mirrored aviators and the new Perrier Street Art water bottles!I bought this Louis Vuitton Neverfull as a Christmas gift to myself last year (hey that’s what happens when you get bad holiday gifts…prevent that by shopping my holiday gift guides here, here & here. And these shoes are definitely a favorite of mine for fall. I have worn them a few times both with skirts and with pants: here, here & here….what can I say when I find a pair of comfortable and stylish shoes, I stick with them!P.S.
