Valentine’s Day is upon us + that means plenty of hearts, love, flowers + of course…chocolate! My boo + I celebrated Valentine’s Day early in Florida to avoid busy crowds + fixed menus at restaurants (I highlight recommend that if you want a romantic night without crowds + hiked up prices etc). One thing I am currently loving is this outfit I put together to shoot in front of the famous Culver City Love Wall – one of my favorite mural walls in LA!
I don’t think there is anything for ‘Valentine’s Day‘ than red + hearts so I think I got my fill with this look.
I hope ya’ll are off to a great week! I am a busy bee with meetings, work + planning this weekend’s content shoot – blogging is a 24/7 business, the amount of work that goes into maintaining a blog, shooting content, editing, writing + finding the perfect spots to shot AND looks is exhausting! I am beyond thankful my boyfriend is supportive + plays photographer (although I bribe him with beer and philly cheesesteaks…his favorite hehe :p)
One of the things that makes blogging worth while is sharing fun + affordable looks with you all! Everything I am wearing in this post retails for under $250 – isn’t that the best?!
My dress is from one of my favorite boutiques, ShopTheMint.com! They have the cutest styles at affordable prices, now that is something I can get behind! From little dresses like this one to heels to accessories to monogram pieces to activewear, outerwear, sweaters + more…they literally have it ALL!
They are sold out of this dress but I linked to some similar styles here + here.
My shoes + bag are total summer staples.
This GiGi New York crossbody bag comes in a variety of colors + retails for just $225. It is genuine leather, lasts a lifetime + goes with every look for any occasion.
These white ankle strap heels are a total MUST for summer. Whether you are heading to the office, a summer wedding, date night or more, they go with EVERYTHING + are super sleek and stylish!
Ok…technically it isn’t officially summer yet (that is June 21st) although whenever Memorial Day comes around in my mind, it’s summer hehe :p Since I am in a summer state-of-mind, that means I have to dress like it. Two things I love in life…discovering new boutiques to find the cutest looks ANDdiscovering new murals around LA to shoot in front of (always on the hunt for the gram…no joke, my BF comes home daily telling me about colored walls he has found haha :p #walladdict)
This post combines my two loves, a new look from a new boutique AND a new wall.Carerra Cafe on Melrose swaps out the mural on their wall every month or two + I have to admit, sometimes it’s a lame promo for a movie or TV show but this time it was the cutest freakin’ wall I ever did see! When I spotted it I told my BF my famous words he dreads hearing…’I have a vision‘ meaning he’s on photographer duty + he will be spending his weekend shooting outfits hehe :p Luckily he loves me + I pay him in Philly Cheesesteaks haha!
Before I go on + on about how much I LOVE this wall, I need to go on + on about how this adorable floral ruffle dress from Poppy and Sky! It is the perfect summer staple. With ruffle detailing, floral print + a flirty silhouette it is for sure a must-have. My BF called it ‘farmer girl chic’, honestly…I’ll take it haha! I literally love it so much. Poppy and Sky offers cute, stylish pieces at an affordable price point in regular + extended sizes (Did I mention how much I love when brands are size inclusive? Because I DO!)
I had to go all white for my shoes + bag…I love white, it’s so chic + clean.
Happy Monday ♥ I hope you all had a nice weekend! My highlight was clearly tracking down some of the best street art in LA (thanks to Studio DIY’s ‘Wall Crawl’ post) to take outfit photos in front of it (I mean come on, who doesn’t think that’s fun :p) haha! Well in addition to tracking down street art + taking photos, I began attempting to learn how to edit photos in Lightroom (bare with me on that haha). I know everyone uses it and I have tried it out here + there, but my new goal is to fully master it — are any of you guys Lightroom fans?! I would love to hear your feedback + any tips / tricks that I should try out 🙂
In addition to tracking down street art, I began fully embracing fall by styling this new look featuring one of my favorite autumn hues…maroon! It’s crazy to me that it’s already October…in LA it feels like endless summer, so honestly I am not really wearing boots yet but I figured I need to begin putting fall looks together so why not start now 😉
One of my main ways for coming up with outfits is starting with one piece I want to style and then pick the pieces that go with it perfectly. I couldn’t wait to style this SheIn Maroon Dress with some navy pieces! What is great about this dress is that it can be worn for spring / summer without a jacket + then for fall / winter layer a lightweight denim jacket (like this one from Old Navy) or even a cozy cardigan or blazer depending the occasion.
I really liked the combo of navy + maroon so I pulled my navy blue suede otk boots (similar style) out of the back of my ‘fall / winter’ closet (yes I have two closets for the different seasons haha no joke :p) + styled those with this look as well! I love how they are great with jeans, dresses + slack for work etc. The chunky heel makes them comfortable + the navy hue matches with just about everything…kinda believing ‘navy is the new black :p’!
Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE a good pair of sunnies so I was super excited when ILYMIX sent me these new sunglasses for fall! I have been on the hunt for metallic silver sunnies + this pair is under $20 but look like they are super expensive…that’s just how I like it 😉 Great quality + style but for less!
